DAVE IS THE MAN!…read more Since my daughter and her spouse were joining us at this year's Apple Festival, I thought that it would be a great opportunity for us to get a family caricature. I peeped the vendor list prior to my visit and decided that booth #35 would be our first stop of the day. We were the first to arrive and I quickly slid into a sit to mark my territory. Dave actually completed our last family caricature a decade ago so I knew that we were in good hands! Awesome! He is an Atlanta based artist who specializes in caricatures so he is very familiar to many. Yes, I was trying to control the process but Dave hi-jacked my plan and did his thang! It's Dave, so I wasn't worried and true to expectations, he did a great job! Our son was not present but Dave was able to add him in from a photo on one of our cell phones. It is perfect! Most caricatures are prepared in black but we decided to go for color which costs significantly more but worth it to us since we are collectors. Also since we have so many, we want them to be a bit different and the ones done in color really pop. You will actually want to splurge on this item because it not only documents a special family moment, but it is the ultimate souvenir that will last a lifetime. The process took about 45 minutes for four people (adding color takes additional time), so plan accordingly. Don't forget to bring cold hard cash!

I really wanted it to have a French feel without being super over the top themed (I am half French, and knew that we were going to have actual people from France at our wedding). My husband had just vetoed a photo booth, so I had a thought, "I wonder if there is a watercolor artist who paints portraits, kind of like they do in (albeit my favorite) touristy part of Montmartre," and quickly started googling on a Friday evening. My efforts paid off in spades and led me to a buzzfeed article about Maggie and her 5 minute watercolor portraits. By Sunday evening, we were chatting on the phone with Maggie with a plan in place and had her booked that same night! In the year or so leading up to the wedding, Maggie was always easy to reach (and super sweet at that) whenever I had any questions come up, and I was beyond excited to actually meet her and see her talent in person. She very kindly did portraits of my then fiancé and I in advance, as well as one of our two dogs at my request. They turned out so beautifully, and she brought them framed to have displayed at our wedding. But really - our guests have not stopped gushing about Maggie. I was so sad that I literally only got to spend about 30 seconds with her after all this time, but everyone was so excited and interested in having Maggie paint their portrait! Ultimately she was able to paint about 70 out of our 105 guests. She arrived and set up before our ceremony, so I know a few people who arrived early and got portraits then - including 2 of my junior bridesmaids who had snuck out while we were getting ready. According to everyone (and my firsthand experience), Maggie was nothing but lovely, fun, and professional. It has been so fun to see our guests' portraits as they share them with us or pop up on facebook. We even got the added bonus of being featured in her new video series, The Wedding Painter, and have a super special video souvenir of our wedding day that we would not have had without Maggie. Your talent and skillset are truly unique, and I hope that one day we can actually spend more than 30 seconds together, because I just want to be friends with you! Everyone at our wedding commented how amazing it was to have someone actually live paint their portraits! I wanted our guests to feel special as a thank you for being a part of our day and this one definitely delivered. I wanted something personal but classy and Maggie was the way to go. Maggie's art is not only beautiful and a great gift to treasure for a lifetime but something also has to be said for her speed! It's clear that the man loves what he does. He was a real pleasure and very entertaining. The kids absolutely loved him, as did the adults. I could see my mom's face when he was performing and she had that look of, "How the heck did he do that?!" After the main show, he stayed to make balloon animals for the kids. The differences were no problem for Mrs.Tammy. She, very patiently, fulfilled every request, listened intently as some shared their life stories with her, multiple times. We used Party Animals for Facepainting and balloon twisting…read more Tiffeney was really good, she's a talented artist was incredibly efficient with both Facepainting and balloon twisting, I'd definitely use her again. The communication was not great. The instructions are that you'll be contacted by the entertainer the week prior to the event. Fri morning I hadn't heard anything so I reached out and was told she'd contact me on the afternoon and they never did. The following morning (day of the party) they reached out and said they had an incorrect phone number and they didn't respond Fri evening b/c of business hours. Mistakes happen, very understandable but all of it could have been avoided if they didn't wait until the afternoon before the party to reach out. Tiffeney was incredibly apologetic, the owner never apologized, just explained the oversight and how negative review impact the business.

He dressed up as a Pirate, played games, made balloon swords and a magic show! He was very good with the children, and made sure everyone had a good time. He had a gentle way to include everyone, even the more shy children. His jokes were also entertaining to the adults, we all got a kick out the experience. I would recommend Party Animals to liven up any occasion!
