They had merged two photos together and taken people out of the original photograph but managed to make it look like the photo had been just like the portrait. It was perfect. Rosaria Trivellini's background, training, portfolio demonstrating her skills, professional and client references confirmed she had the necessary expertise to complete our delicate task. Before commencing work, Rosaria carefully examined our painting and its frame and reported on its overall condition. We learned a lot about our painting, the painter and the techniques he used. She then proposed different treatment options with explanations of the result of each and their varying costs. This enabled us to decide on a course of conservation that would best preserve the painting and suit our budget and plans. Rosaria kept us updated on progress throughout which was very exciting. We are delighted with the finished result which is beyond our expectations. The preserved painting can now be enjoyed by future generations. Throughout the process we found Rosaria very knowledgeable about art history, historical and modern artists' materials, their chemical structure and behaviour and the scientific methods available for examining, restoring and preserving objects of art. Walked in and it looked lovely and then we spoke to the guy and basically, he didn't want to know. We offered him the commission of a bespoke frame, a brilliant deal, STILL didn't want know!! When we asked him his name in an effort to be friendly, he referred us to the sign at the front of the shop!! Wtf???! So we just left and bought the raw materials to make our own frames, for a fraction of what he was charging! I would never return and would not recommend.

This place had reasonably priced items by smaller artists that made it very approachable. I bought a piece for like 400, which in the scheme of something hanging on your walls for decades isn't too bad. I visited a bunch of other galleries that were stuffy and had very expensive stuff. This gallery has a lot of things that regular, "non-art", people would buy and hang on their wall. I researched a few of the artists in there and they all seemed like fairly new artists that were getting their feet wet, so it feels good to support them.

Everything that I see in this shop inspires me. I know that art is objective, but there is something about the contents of this shop that make me think that anything brought here would be a wise purchase. On a Sunday the artist, Sharon Elphick is often here. She sells her work here. They are large prints, or on canvas of patterns of letters, textures, numbers, skies, buildings. They are truly beautiful, and well worth seeing. She also sells work from other artists here. (and runs a blog about all the art in the shop - check out her website blog for more details). One of my favourite prints in this shop is by a label called Dandy Star. It is just a simple print with the letters LOVE emblazoned across it, and call me a sucker for modern art, but I L O V E it too.

I visited this gallery while on holiday and I bought a cool book on bubble lettering for a gift to my niece. This shop has great art work, it's very streamlined and has nice gifts. Looking forward to visiting this street and this gallery shop on my next holiday to London.
