Room was freezing. I called reception and they told me to come downstairs in the middle of the night to get a heater. So apparently they KNOW the rooms are freezing and have chosen not to fix the issue. AND they won't bring you the heater. You have to go get it. Dank, old room laid out poorly. Hallway smelled. Staff was unfriendly and abrupt. Don't pay in advance to save a few bucks. There's a good chance you'll want to leave after your first night(mare) here. read more

Horrible hotel. Our plane had mechanical issues and overnighted us at this hotel. I woke up the next morning with 15+ nickle size bites!

We have stayed here before and it was so nice. Check in 6 years later nothing is updated the rooms are so small and you are stuck without any food for miles The buffet is terrible. 1. I was advised by the reception staff when I arrived at the hotel that check in was not until 4:00 pm. I ended up spending my first afternoon of the tour sitting at the hotel lobby waiting for my room. At 4:15pm I inquired the front desk about my room and was told that they will let me know soon. When pressed for estimate time they said we will let you know. At 5:30 pm after no one at the hotel checked up on me I had to inquire again about my room. It took them awhile to find my name and gave me the key to my room. 2. As I was stepping away from the reception desk 2 plain-clothes individuals immediately approached me, identifying themselves as "law enforcement", and demanded to see my ID. In shock, I gave them my US Passport. Upon reviewing my document they realized that I am a US citizen and gave me back my passport. They said I can go but gave no explanation for the reason for their inquiry. No hotel staff members came to my assistance or bothered to see what was happening to me. I proceeded to the front desk to speak to a supervisor regarding the incident and demanded an explanation. The 2 law enforcement individuals spoke to this supervisor in Dutch then proceeded to explain to me that they were there to monitor and investigate an illegal PROSTITUTION SITUATION at this hotel. Apparently me being around the hotel lobby on my cellphone is reasonably suspicious enough for them to think that I'm somehow involved in this situation. I told them that I am here with a reputable organized tour company and this is my first day here. They told me, and I quoted: "This has nothing to do with you". I corrected them and said that THIS has everything to do with me when you're discriminated me as an individual that you deemed is a suspect of a possible crime. I told them that this is my first time visiting Amsterdam and what was happening to me is NOT a good experience and impression of the city. They finally gave me an insincere apology and let me proceed with my check in process. In the meantime no one in the hotel staff bothered to follow up or expressed any concerns for my welfare. In short I feel that I am unjustly being treated like a criminal while no one at this hotel establishment bothers to care. This ibis is so close to the airport, it makes so much sense to stay here if you are heading to the airport early! We had a 7:05am flight, so I appreciated the frequent and efficient shuttle service that was offered. Coming from the airport too was no issue. We had taken the shuttle the day before we left so that we could rent a car from the airport. The ride was about 10 minutes. The entry area is really nice. There's a gift shop and then a quick bites area - kind of like a convenience store. There wasn't much selection, but the prices seemed reasonable enough. Breakfast was 17€, which was kind of a lot for mediocre food. On the bright side, there is freshly squeezed orange juice available. We got a double bed room - one bed that's a double, to clarify. There wasn't any AC, which was fine. It doesn't get that hot in the Netherlands like it does here in the States. It was a small room, but it was clean, and relatively comfortable. Totally would recommend for staying if you're looking to get to the airport in a timely manner. I would not recommend staying if you're looking to actually go into the city, which was a 30€ Uber ride. read more

We stayed here for a single night upon our arrival to Amsterdam by plane through Schiphol. We found and took the free shuttle bus to the hotel, a short 2 mile drive away. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. General Description of Room: Our room (1406) on the main floor. It was a superior room, so it had air conditioning which was nice as it was a hot humid day. The room was average in size, yet adequate. The bed was queen size and was comfortable. There was a small desk with a phone and an AC/USB power cube on it. There was a small LCD TV on the wall and a safe in the small wardrobe. Free WiFi was offered and worked well. The bathroom was small but adequate in size. Pros: - Free Airport Shuttle - Bar - Restaurant - Gift Shop - Snack Shop - Free Coffee Bar at end of hallway - Superior rooms have air conditioned (worked very well) - Safe - Television (small) - Desk - Free WiFi (worked well) - Front Desk Staff was nice - Room was clean - Shower water pressure was excellent - Hot water from shower was abundant Cons: - Bathroom ventilation was very slow - There was no tissue box in the bathroom - only toilet paper - The threshold from the hallway into the room was metal and you had to step up and over it - The bathroom was raised up from the bedroom floor and you had to step up several inches to get in and out of it read more

The "Airport" moniker is a little misleading since it is about a 10 minute taxi or shuttle ride from the airport to the reception desk. Regardless, it is a convenient option for short stays or early flights with those shuttles leaving frequently and on schedule (provided at the front desk). The room was comfortable and just what I needed for a late arrival, early departure. Nothing too fancy, but appropriately appointed. I don't know much about the other amenities as I didn't have time to really look around. The one area I did sample was the bar. It was generally fine with plenty of seating, multiple TVs (showing F1 AND Rally!), but with a modest draft and bottle selection. I was a bit disappointed by the bartender as he seemed to be having an off night and I couldn't open a tab or put drinks on my room "at this time." The front desk staff was very helpful and took care of everything quickly and with a smile! read more

This is a hotel near Schiphol airport. From a location view, 5 stars. The rooms are small (typical European style), but efficient. There is a bar in the hotel, and it was nice, comfortable, easy to sit there for a time without any hassle (the rooms really are a little small to sit in after a while). Getting there from the airport is very easy, but may be time consuming. There are three options: Taxi - I would not do this as its not really that far, and the taxi driver may be irritated, but also, it will cost around 12-15 euro for a short ride. Shuttle - They offer a free shuttle bus from Schiphol to the Ibis, the Ibis Budget (right behind this hotel), and one other hotel about 2 miles away. The shuttle stops at the Ibis first coming from the airport. This is a fine way to get there, however, be prepared to wait as it may not be on time (runs every 20 min during peak hours), and it will likely be VERY FULL. When going back to the airport, if you are trying to take the first shuttle it may be crowded already as it picks people up from the other hotel first. And there will be alot of people from the IBIS waiting to get on, so again, it will be crowded. They should really consider managing this better for the first shuttle of the day as I have now done it 3 times and its just packed and unsafe. Rent a car - If you rent a car, there is parking at this hotel, but its not free. There is a discount for being a hotel guest, but there is some cost. It does however seem to be safe enough parking, and is reasonably well lit, in case you come in while its dark. If you rent a car, be sure to google directions to the hotel before getting to the airport. I say this as the airport directions and the GPS in the car may take you onto the highway etc., when there is an easier route the locals take. If you mapquest the easier route will also show up. The three stars are for the following - If you arrive early morning (often the case coming from the US) - they WONT let you into your room early, and if you do want it, you have to pay for the whole extra day. Seriously? That's just not nice. (I get it if the room is not ready, but if its ready, why not just let the tired traveler into the room.) Then, assuming you don't want t pay for the day and decide to go to Amsterdam instead, to store luggage they say - "You put it yourself in the luggage room and we make no promise that it will be safe." Again - really? How hard would it be to manage the luggage room and just put travelers minds at ease? This hotel is great from a location view, its not in the airport like the Sheraton, but is also not as costly (by a long shot) as the Sheraton. read more

This was a disgusting place we had to stay in. Do the maids do anything? When our flights got cancelled we were happy that the airline provided us this room but it was just so gross. The dinner down stairs (buffet) was one of the weirdest and terrible foods you can have. It caused us to have terrible stomach aches. The room was absolutely DISGUSTING. Sheets had hairs and the toilet seat had one on it as well. When we lifted the toilet seat there was literal shit on there (probably from the person staying before us after they had this hotels food ). The desk area had a bunch of stains all over it and the curtains were covered. There was mold on the back of the curtains as well. Floor was dirty as well, we had to make sure we kept our shoes on the whole time. All these things is something the maids should be cleaning but honestly it was gross. I'm not a clean freak and this is the first time I was completely uncomfortable going under the blanket. Even the toilet paper roll was dirty somehow. It was just a bad experience overall. Location, location, location! Wasn't sure what to expect here-as we drove in to the lot but we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Lobby was hip and modern, front desk staff was helpful and checkin was a breeze. We had a triple room, so space was minimal but it was only one night. The only knock on the room was it was so hot! We opened the window and that helped some but on a warm afternoon it was impossible to be in the room. The beds were extremely comfortable--my testy and cranky back woke the next morning pain free. Had some beers in the onsite pub-pleasant wait staff and it seemed popular. Also really enjoyed the outdoor terrace in the front of the hotel; it seemed a popular choice for hanging out with a beer. Best of all it was a sub-10 minute drive to the airport. Nicely done Ibis. read more

We3 were going to be here for two days and we did the reservation on line. Everything was in order when we got there, no surprises. If you have a car there is an additional charge and if you are going in and out it is best to pay the day charge so you can come and leave as often as you wish. This is what we did and everything worked great. This a a pretty large hotel and since it is close to the airport there is a lot of people moving and out of the hotel at all hours of the day. Not a big problem but occasionally was wakened at night by people coming and going. This place is what I call reasonable priced. The rooms are not large but who needs a big room to sleep. The rest of the day we were up and somewhere else. There is a large buffet in the mornings with a lot of choices. it is priced the same as most we ate at while in Europe. I believe it was 17 euros. Biggest grip is in Europe or where we were there is no free coffee. If you want it you have to pay. With the traffic this hotel has they are in need a face lift. The carpet going to our room was is need of replacement and the walls had a lot of paint missing from luggage hitting. Other that that everything was good. Yes I would definitely stay with them again. I have used this chain before and always had a good night stay. read more

Not very close to the airport, it is a nice option quality-price relationship. It takes 15 minutes with their shuttle bus to get to the hotel. Room is ok but is clear the furniture is a bit old. Service at desk is nice and attentive but cleaning services get in your room without knocking the door. A bit unpleasant. There are no elevators but mechanic stairs like in a mall. Breakfast is normal, nothing special but not bad. I woul recommend it if you are a bit tight with your budget, otherwise there are plenty of other hotels at Schiphol Airport read more

We stayed at the Ibis Amsterdam Airport Hotel which was a good choice for the price. It is about 20 minutes from Schiepol AIrport by free shuttle. There are two Ibis Airport hotels, one is the Ibis Budget Hotel and the Ibis Amsterdam Airport Hotel which is next door. The hotel itself is nice and across the street from the bus station that takes you downtown. The room is small, average size by European standards, has flat screen with lots of channels, safe, nice bathroom with limited amenities. Clean with comfortable bed. Offers nice breakfast buffet, (16 Euro) cold cuts, variety of bread, croissants, eggs, sausage, salad, fresh squeezed orange juice machine, my favorite, little pancakes and make it yourself waffle machine. (Coffee machine)- good service- Staff very helpful and everyone is nice and speaks fluent Dutch and English. Shuttle runs about every 45 minutes to and from airport. My flight from AMS to JFK was cancelled. Yep - cancelled. And my re-booked flight was the next day. This was the courtesy hotel KLM provided for the night. It was right near the airport, and there is a shuttle that takes you from door to door between both. The dinner and breakfast provided as a courtesy to stranded passengers is at a buffet. It was a pretty sad buffet. Not bad, but a bit depressing. The hotel itself is nice. There are lots of people going in and out. And aside from the sad buffet, it actually has a lot of other restaurants and food options inside the hotel. My bed was incredibly uncomfortable - way too soft. So I woke up with a terrible neck, back, side, and everything ache. Not fun before a 7+ hour flight. However, I was pretty impressed that this was a hotel airport and with the amenities provided for stranded passengers. read more

This place is a wonderful place to stay in Amsterdam, especially if you're looking to stay near the airport. It is a very different place for US travelers, but I thought it was well worth it. It has a classy vibe and the people that work there are phenomenal. The hotel is nice and well kept. They allow animals, which is fine to me, but they allow them mixed in on the same floor as the regular rooms. Unfortunately, there were some dog droppings on the carpet in the hallway, but were cleaned up when noticed by staff. Be aware that Amsterdam is famous for some things, and you'll be surrounded by the smell of it, not just for the hell of it (whether you like it or not). This place has a market, gift shop, and some dining options. The room is pure Euro style and everyone seems to be there to have a good time. This can lead to some lost sleep if you're a light sleeper because the door is extremely thin and people are drinking all hours in the lobby and walking through he hall drunk. They have a shuttle that run most of the day. Be prepared to pay ridiculous taxi and Uber fares in Amsterdam, so the shuttle can be helpful to get to the airport for transportation and get to Amsterdam Central station, which can link you up with other transit to help you get almost anywhere in the city. The price to stay is really cheap, and worth it, if you're not not crazy picky. They also have some places to eat and get some drinks while you're there. Everyone that works there seems to speak brilliant English and they all have some great suggestions for you. Enjoy the stay and have some Euros on hand for your transit rides. Cheers! read more

Great food options within the hotel- I had a delicious toastie (ham & cheese panini) at their restaurant on the second floor. Love that there are grab and go options in the lobby as well. Breakfast was delicious. Room was clean! Albeit a little small, but otherwise great. This hotel is very reasonably priced for the accommodations. We caught the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, which was very convenient. The rooms are small, but are equipped with everything you would need. The bathroom was updated and the shower felt like heaven. There is a diner on the 2nd floor of the hotel and there is an escalator that goes to all levels of the hotel which I thought was very unique. There will probably be a huge crowd of people at the hotel waiting to get the van to the airport, but don't worry, the bus is huge and will accommodate everyone. read more

Catch the bus to the city right across the street. for 3E you can ride right to the museums, or connect to the tram to Dam Square. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and I love the quilts. This is a great hotel to stay in for a quick trip or overnight in for AMS. This hotel provides a complimentary airport shuttle & complimentary breakfast buffet and free wi-fi. The room was small, but very comfortable with a sparkling bathroom & comfy beds. It was nice to have a window that looked out on a grassy area & not just a parking lot. It is less than a mile from Schiphol, but I didn't hear a thing even with the window cracked open. We were also on the 1st floor but didn't hear any noise during the night. NO AC, but thankfully, we didn't need it. When we wanted to go into Amsterdam, we just took the free shuttle back to the airport & got on a fast train into the city & then came back to the airport to catch the shuttle back to the hotel. The last shuttle from the airport to the hotel was at 1:15am and the earliest shuttle to the airport was 5:05am. Very easy. Very prompt. We had a drink in the Red Baron Lounge & it had plenty of seating and big tv's, so I got to watch a little tennis. They have 3 (I think) restaurants. We only did the breakfast buffet which starts at 4am! The eggs were delicious and they had deli meats, cheeses, juices, coffee, pastries, breads... It's hard to eat that early but it was delicious!!! The coffee was excellent. Just an aside, there is another Ibis Budget Hotel & it is right next door (within walking distance), but I'm not sure what the difference is. We were supposed to receive a free Summer Concert Special Booking Gift in our room, but we didn't get that - don't even know what it was. When I asked at check-in, they didn't have any idea what it was. I would say that was the only negative... the check-in & out staff were almost surly. Not sure what that is about. I'd recommend it though just because it's value-priced & easy to get into Amsterdam and to the airport. read more

This is the worst hotel. The manager Frank promises you a room with air conditioner, and we are given one without. Frank then says he charges us €15 extra per night. Then the manager says "here is your new room. We extended your booking 1 night at your request, your keys will work tomorrow and of they don't, just come down and have them reset. You can pay the invoice when you checkout." We were then LOCKED OUT of our room the next morning when the new booking started, in the middle of plans, and then they said they now require we pay the balance at the desk before getting a new key. This is the exact opposite of what he promised. When I asked Frank why he promised one thing, and didnt deliver he said "oh well this is policy." This is extremely unprofessional. You dont tell guests one thing just to make them feel good, and have no intention of following thru. The wait time at their burger bar was ONE HOUR. The waiters would make you stand at the register for 10 minutes until you even ordered. Don't stay here. Terrible customer service. read more

Great value hotel close to airport with reliable shuttle service. Restaurants not open during the afternoon but there is a self serve area for snacks. Each room gets two bath towels (no face towels or bath mat) so use them sparingly. Nice outdoor sitting area with fountain. Beds are comfy. read more

5 stars for convenience. Staff was polite and helpful. Literally a 5 minute walk to the bus station to go into the city, and a free shuttle to and from the airport. I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Location is great if you are going to the airport, but unfortunately it is a 60 euro taxi away from the city of Amsterdam. I was impressed with how nice this hotel was. Only bad thing was the incompetent staff. I left my phone in my room after checking out, then called the hotel 8 hours later, and they confirmed they had my phone. I gave them all the necessary information & shipping details to send my phone to my home address. It took a ridiculous amount of effort on my part to actually get this sent out. The staff lied to me and delayed the whole process because they are so unorganized over there. Took 5 emails and 2 international phone calls for them to just do their job. read more

Very nice, more upscale-looking hotel. Very nice staff and very clean accommodations. They also have the standard hotel features, restaurant, gift shop, and even a take away food section if you just want to grab something and head back to your room. Only negative is that the hotel is very busy, but luckily we did not experience any noise issues during our stay. A very pleasant experience and we would use this hotel again. read more
