Absolutely incredible food! We came in here on a cloudy Monday afternoon, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server was very attentive and managed the bar while also diligently waiting tables. As for the delicious fare here, I ordered the hippie salad with falafel, and it was absolutely delightful. Perfectly dressed, it had a pleasing variety of textures and flavors. My partner ordered the chicken shawarma hippie wrap and was equally impressed with its quality, noting that the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. We also got a chai latte to share, and it was perfectly spicy and aromatic. For dessert, we got a tahini soft serve à la Dubai style. I was so happy to see vegan soft serve, and with a chocolate shell too, which is quite rare to find! The soft serve was super creamy, slightly nutty, and definitely the highlight of an already wonderful meal. Ibiza. Santa Cruz, CA. August, 2026. We visited this California-Mediterranean cafe in early August, 2026, with a large party -- 9 adults, a 2-year-old toddler, and an infant. It's a fast casual restaurant that offers pita sandwiches, salads, falafel, shawarma, espresso, matcha, chai, juices, and vegan soft serve ice cream. This was my first visit to this restaurant; my adult daughter and SIL had been there previously and recommended it. I'm having trouble coming up with an overall rating because we had an uneven experience. FOOD. I will comment only on the entrees that I have direct information on. My husband and I tend to split our entrees and we each decided to order "Hippie Pitas", that featured hummus, tahini sauce, shatta (hot chili sauce), kale, yams, crispy chickpeas, pickled shallots, seeds, and carrot ginger vinaigrette. I ordered a vegetarian option, the falafel hippie pita ($13) while my husband ordered the beef kofta burger hippie pita ($15). I loved the falafel pita (rating: 5/5), given its mix of complex flavors and fresh ingredients. I particularly liked the fresh falafel and the crispy chickpeas. Unfortunately, my husband had a very different experience with the beef kofta one. The pita was served with 3 small kofta burgers. Upon biting into the first, he found a burger that was raw/red in the middle. (Both of us prefer well-done meat). He returned it, asking for it to be cooked more. When it was returned, the top patty was now medium-well, still pinker than his preference but somewhat edible. However, the two other patties didn't appear to have been cooked more and were still red in the middle. We ended up NOT splitting out entrees because I just can't eat undercooked meat; he was also unhappy with his choice. (Rating: 0/5). We also ordered a mango lassi ($6), which was tasty but a bit small. (Rating: 4/5). We also shared an order of Disco fries ($14) with the table. This featured spiced fries, with falafel, harissa ketchup, golden amba, tahini, pickled onions, pepperoncini, and herbs. I'd give this entree a rating of 3/5. It was acceptable, but I wasn't a big fan of the combination of ingredients, and would've preferred to have the harissa ketchup on the side rather than already on the fries (because it made them soggy). SERVICE. (1/5). You order at a counter, and then the food is delivered to your table. The cashier who took our order, and later delivered the plates was friendly enough and efficient. However, our sense was that they were under-staffed. As mentioned, the same girl took our order and delivered it. And, we only saw one cook in the open kitchen area, resulting in the plates of food being delivered at different times to our table. Some were nearly finished with their sandwiches/salads while others were just beginning. We appreciated that the kid's meal was delivered first to the toddler. We were very disappointed that my husband's beef kofta pita STILL came back undercooked even after having sent it back -- and no one checked to see if he was happy after it was returned. It also wasn't clear whether we were expected to bus our own table. The restaurant was spacious, open, and clean, and pitchers and glasses of water were available at the counter. They had a nice selection of drinks and vegan ice cream. We might eat here again, but would only order vegetarian options. read more

Came here on a Saturday evening based on the high reviews. There were some people dining and it wasn't too busy, but I could see how it would busier in the morning and early afternoon. Ordered the chicken shawarma hippie pita and it was amazing and loaded with filling. Took maybe 10 minutes to prepare, but it was incredibly fresh and they have an open kitchen design so it was made to order. One of the chefs was grilling the chicken and another person was preparing the orders. The flavor was so good and the pita was basically a super soft texture with a delicate bite and chew. I could eat one of these pitas every day and I definitely want to try more of their menu. read more

Ordered mango lassi which kids enjoyed, just a little watered down. Only wish is that the portion size was bigger. The bathrooms were nice, and there was a nice area outside of the bathrooms with sinks to wash yourself. It would be helpful to have a step stool for kids there. I wish I took pictures of all the food we got, we got a lot of food and it was such a hit! We ordered some of their platters to feed our small office (each tray feeds about 4-6). We got the hippie salad, the fattoush-y salad, and a nosh platter. It was helpful that we were able to opt for vegan and gluten free options. Most of the food was fantastic and we all raved about the fluffy pitas and the the fixins on the nosh platter. A common consensus seemed to be to skip the hippie salad- it was just a little too raw-kale heavy. Came here for lunch a few weeks ago and split the disco fries with falafel and they were seriously the best combo of Mediterranean sauces, pickled onions and Jalapeño, hot fries and fresh falafel. If you come here, PLEASE get them!! With that said, I find it hard to come here. They close pretty early, so even though I would love to come back for dinner it isn't really possible, and I don't work close by enough to come during lunch. I was shopping in the area and decided to pop in for a meal. I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was. I got parking right in front on a Saturday but the place inside is very spacious and open. You order at the counter and get a number for dine in service. I ordered the lamb plate and strawberry lemonade, non-sparkling. The lemonade was fantastic, and the lamb plate blew me away. The presentation alone was extremely appealing in art fully crafted. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, along with the hummus, asparagus and pickled cabbage. I ate every last thing on the plate, I can only imagine what everything else taste like, but this blew my expectations away in an unsuspecting café. I definitely recommend coming back. Delicious wraps, drinks, and salads. Perfect lunch time spot. My go to is the chicken wrap. The bread they use for the wrap is pillowy and fresh. Perfectly sauced too. I always go with someone who orders the hippie salad and they love it. I've had the salad too but the wrap always wins for me. I haven't tried their tahini soft serve or the pita chip nachos but they are definitely on my list. My only wish was that it was a wee bit more affordable.. It's been a little while since I've been to Ibiza, and I don't know why! It's so delicious, fresh, and flavorful. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and just a charming atmosphere for lunch or early dinner. Our chai lattes with oat milk were the perfect temperature and flavor. I appreciate how they ask you if you want it sweet or not, and how sweet you want it. The combination of items on the shawarma plate felt like a bounty. The falafel was spot on, and the sauces on the disco fries + pickled onions brought it all together. I'm already craving it the next day and will be back SOON. read more

We were in the area and after looking at Yelp reviews decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many vegan options, in fact they have a separate menu. It is quite big of a space, plenty if tables, great food options, and quick service. We got the falafel hippie salad - great portion, the dressing was great. We also got the Muhamara with a side of vegan flatbread. It's bittersweet, since Barceloneta was one of my favorite restaurants in town and I'm sad to see it go; but it's not gone -- it's morphed into Ibiza, a casual cool cafe with some of the same delicious menu items, same beautiful faces serving food. So I'm ok with the change. Especially since Ibiza has chicken schnitzel on the menu, which I crave frequently. If they were to go on DoorDash (hint, hint) I'd be ordering a lot. Ibiza's schnitzel was very nice wrapped in a wholesome whole grain flatbread with great tanginess from amba and pickled onions. Chicken was fresh tasting, could have been a little crispier, but that was my only quibble. Tahini ice cream with churro was outstanding. Can't wait to go back and try shakshuka. Absolutely thrilled to have Ibiza as a new option in town! I tried the Summer Chicken Salad and the churros with both dipping sauces! The salad was a 10/10 and I can't wait to try their other one. I stopped in with my daughter today just to get churros y chocolate. I have to say based off of the Churros only it would be 3 stars. I am a fan of the southern Spain churros and these are northern Spain style - so I'm inclined to be a little critical - but I did think they were a bit dry. having said that the chocolate was delicious and my daughter said they were delicious and we ate them all up. My husband got the fried chicken plate and Masala chai latte with a shot of cardamom coffee, I got the falafel wrap and bunny juice (which my 2yr old daughter drank most of), and my daughter got the chicken schnitzel. (Sorry I don't have more pictures. I was so excited to eat the food.) The flavors were balanced and complimented each other wonderfully. I loved all the different use of herbs. This newly imagined cafe feel for the old Barceloneta space is STUNNING. The food was unbelievable, all their salads are so well thought out and you can taste the care that went into their menu. Their staff was so kind, friendly and accommodating. The open concept is more casual than the low-light dinner ambiance from before- it's now absolutely ideal for a large lunch get-together or a kid-friendly early dinner!
