Fig wood fire pizza with fresh arugula, prosciutto, feta cheese
    George R.

Great Mediterranean restaurant in Aptos/Santa Cruz. Establishment offers indoor and outdoor seating. Nice decor and clean. We ordered a wood fire pizza, feta fries, and a salad bowl. Food was ready quick and staff are friendly. The pizza crust is deliciosos and not doughy. The ingredients on the fig pizza are fresh and enhanced our food experience. All ingredients balanced one another to provide many flavors. The feta fries were so delicious. Balance hint of olive oil with feta and other ingredients that make this appetizer a must have. The salad bowl offer a great amount of ingredients to make it a fresh and great main course dish. Definitely recommend dining here for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable. They also offer wine and beer selections.

Eastern Mediterranean Pizza - Fig chutney, goat cheese, prosciutto & arugula.

Zameen Mediterranean Cuisine offers flavorful casual dining with a varied yet limited menu of soup, salads, wraps, bowls, pizzas and a few specialties One can dine indoors, or on their large outdoor patio. We enjoyed their Moroccan Madness soup and a Eastern Mediterranean Pizza. The soup is vegan, made with chickpeas, curry, coconut milk, tomato & garlic. Their Eastern Mediterranean Pizza was quite delicious, with fig chutney, goat cheese, prosciutto, and topped with arugula. The restaurant is clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. The decor offers a relaxing and comfortable environment. The Mediterranean fare at Zameen offers a healthy choice for a delicious meal.

I've always loved how well-balanced Mediterranean food is and having Zameen is a great alternative to pricey resort fare. This lamb bowl is served with greens and cranberry and almond couscous. Yes there is meat but it's often grilled not fried, with citrus brightening and therefore lightening up whatever dish you're enjoying like these dolmas. Even this pizza is topped with arugula and fig jam to balance out the salty prosciutto. Both good enough to return for again just a couple of months later when we found ourselves back in Aptos.

Lamb and beef gyro, falafel gyro

Came after hike at Forest of Nisene Marks. plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, seemed to be popular spot, at least 10 other people came after us. Food-wise, offers healthy wraps, salads and rice bowls. The wraps were generous serving size, like a huge burrito, and came stuffed with salad greens. Saw staff warm up bread in their oven, but ours didn't taste as warmed. Lamb/beef gyro wrap (4/5)- brother said meat was too salty Falafel wrap (4/5) - falafel wasn't freshly fried so was soggy. Had dry mouth feel afterwards.

Love this place. The gyro bowls and lamb burgers are our go to. They have two spots here in the county and both are great.

The garden is so charming with umbrella tables and plants winding up the walls. The food is always fantastic. And the service is excellent too. Was hungry for some real food after the boardwalk and wanted something a little healthier after all…read morethe sugar we ate all day so decided to try this place. I wasn't expecting to find such a Mediterranean gem in Santa Cruz! Everything tasted so fresh and so good. Their pesto with bread was delicious. We ordered the mezze platter and the dolma was probably the best I have had. They were very generous with the pita bread they gave. The platter is for 4 people and intended to be an appetizer but we got pretty full off it. Hubby and I each ordered the gyro and the kids each ordered the chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Portions were huge and prices were good. $15 for each gyro/sandwich and $25 for the mezze platter for 4 which has dolmas, spanakopita, falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki and lots of pita bread. So filling, delicious, and well worth the money. The service was impressive. We came in around 8p and they were scheduled to close at 8:30p. They did not rush us and they did not sacrifice service. They were all very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Visited again and was really hoping to update my rating bc I want to support Arab owned businesses…read more Rating was still around a 3.5. This time we ordered the kefta dinner and another dinner that was one kefta and one chicken skewer. Definitely better than the wrap I had last time. And the chicken and rice were particularly good. Still disappointed they don't have tahini sauce for these items. Both served with tzatziki, which doesn't fit. We paid around $80 for this with one nonalcoholic drink. Unfortunately, as before, the service was still not great despite the restaurant being empty. The woman (same one as last time) was nice but just not that attentive. My drink came well after my meal. The bread service came when we were almost done. I did notice a guy going around to other tables. Maybe he was the owner and he was a lot more attentive to other tables. Still love the Arabic music. However, With the mediocre service and food lacking real Arabic accoutrements, I cannot recommend but also can't say don't go.

Delicious and unique mediterranean meal…read more I ordered the Mishmish chicken and lamb shank freekeh. The freekeh was delicious, with nuts mixed in as well. The baba ghanoush was delicious: smoky and the exact right texture. The less good: making a reservation was a challenge although I finally realized one could do it through yelp. The table was wobbly - although the waiter did fix it (why not stabilize tables before a customer asks?!). I ordered a glass of white wine and was given an empty glass only. Then the owner arrived and asked if I wanted another glass, not realizing that I hadn't been given the first one. The. The owner brought over a small carafe and poured it so aggressively that it splashed on the table and me. The lamb kabobs were cooked to the temperature we asked but the meat was TOUGH. It was well seasoned but the way the meat was cut for the kebab resulted in pieces with a lot of inedible connective tissue. The tzatziki was good and the rice was flavorful. So, overall a mixed bag. The place definitely is cute and has some charm. It just needs more attention to details.

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants in south county!…read more The food at Olives is delicious- especially the kofta and the beef/lamb gyro plates. Their baba ganoush is my personal favorite- I only wish they were a little more generous with the serving size! I also really appreciate that they offer smaller appetizers like lentil soup and samosas, which makes it easy to sample a few things or build a lighter meal. Everything is flavorful, well-seasoned, and made with care. When you walk in, you order and pay on a tablet, which is quick and convenient. They've messed up on my order once or twice, so it's worth double-checking your food, but it was never a big deal and definitely wouldn't stop me from returning. The restaurant setup is a bit unconventional: the seating consists of tables in the middle of a small market filled with imported goods.
