I started coming here in early 2023 for vitamin injections. I used to occasionally get them somewhere else but found them and wanted to give it a try because I had also been thinking about the idea of getting a naturopath. I'm SO GLAD I DID. I loved the environment so much that after a view visits of vitamin injections I decided to setup a free phone call with Dr. Ramos (who was the sole naturopath at the clinic at the time--there are several incredible ones now!) to go over my goals and concerns to see if it would be a right fit. At first my biggest concern was hormones because my mother and her sister both had estrogen sensitive breast cancer and I wanted to get ahead of that potentially. Well, when my appointment rolls around, I was experiencing a horrible eczema flare up. Things shifted from that to addressing the current concern which was my skin. We did bloodwork and came up with a plan and within a few weeks my skin was so clear I was so happy! Fast forward to summer of 2025. I was suffering the absolute worst flare up of my life which was worsened further by a medication prescribed by my allergist. I felt hopeless and suffered for months before finally coming back to Kyra Kare because I was in so much pain and so self conscious even leaving my house. I knew what had always given me a boost was an IV. I sucked it up, made an appointment, came in and was greeted with so much care and compassion and both Dr. Ramos and Dr. Mari quickly came up with the perfect drip for me. At the end of it I was already feeling so much better. Dr. Mari has been so amazing at recommending IVs for me too! She's so sweet and so knowledgeable! I re-established care w/ Dr. Ramos and did another round of bloodwork and came up with a game plan once again and the results astounded not only myself but also my Dermatologist and Primary Care Physician. Within just 4 weeks my skin was healing so rapidly just as it had the first time I worked with Dr. Ramos the year and a half prior. You have to be willing to put in the work and be consistent because healing is a team effort as you need to be committed to the protocols prescribed to you too. Honestly, it was a bit of a shot in the dark. Prices of visits vary depending on who you see. I called to make an appointment, and was disappointed to find out it was about 3 months before I could get in. I was called and offered an earlier appointment when someone else cancelled, but I couldn't make it, so I stuck with my original appointment time. The front desk staff were always pleasant when I interacted with them. You have the option to visit in person or through an on-line virtual video visit. For my first visit, I decided to go in-person as I wanted to make a connection with the doctor and for her to really "see me". The office is very clean, modern and upscale, although not 'cold and clinical'. The decor colors are welcoming and serene. There is a waiting room and then you're called back to your doctor's office and you walk through a common area with a large table. There's a small restroom and a phlebotomist's room. I left after my first visit (which was about an hour) with my head spinning slightly as I felt like I had some 'homework' to do before my next visit. This included downloading an app, through which to order supplements and ordering said supplements. Organizing getting bloodwork (which, after some research turned out to be less expensive through a 3rd party lab, not through the Nourish phlebotomist), ordering a prescription through a compound pharmacy and purchasing and utilizing a continual glucose monitor through another retail outlet. While wearing the monitor, I had to enter any food consumed and any exercise activity into the glucose monitor app. Communication with your Nourish doctor is done through a 'patient portal'. Any messages I sent were usually answered within a couple of days. I also called the front desk a few times with questions. For my second visit, I chose the convenience of meeting virtually on-line to save the commute time. This visit was about 40 minutes, done through the portal. The doctor I chose was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, but not particularly warm and bubbly. She didn't smile much. Not a lot of pleasantries like , 'How was your summer?' or 'How was the drive here?' or whatever, just strictly down to business. That's OK, but I like a little bit more of a friendlier/interactive bedside manner. Between two visits, some bloodwork (outside my provider network), several supplements, a compound pharmacy prescription and mail delivery, plus purchasing a glucose monitor, (also out of my provider network), I spent just over $1,100. After my second visit, it kind of occurred to me that the operation relies a little heavily on the recommendation of supplements which you order through a portal they suggest -- obviously they make a commission. (I was told by the front desk to 'Not order through Amazon'!) I didn't feel like the first set of supplements had done much, so I decided not to order the second set that was suggested. I felt I was given very minimal nutritional advice. I'm glad I gave Nourish and naturopathy a try and I was pleased that I was tested/monitored for things that my regular medical provider wouldn't bother testing for, however, ultimately I didn't feel like it solved much for me. Susanna picked me up from Pantoja's office the day after surgery and helped me throughout the entire recovery process. She cooks very yummy meals and caters to any diet needs/restrictions. I'm pescatarian so she was careful not to feed me any meat. When it came to recovery, she helped clothe me, bathe me, and administered my meds. I chose the ocean-view room upstairs and it was amazing waking up to the beautiful pacific ocean and letting the sound of the waves lull me to sleep. Speaking of sleep; their electronic lift hospital beds help you get out of bed without putting to much strain on your body. I also looooved the lymphatic massages. She actually has an experienced masseuse come to the house whenever you want!! Both her and her husband Marvin are such friendly people, I enjoyed just hanging out with them. I will always recommend this recovery house to family and friends. I really couldn't have done it without them. 110% top-notch experience!!
