If I'm being completely honest, the hardest part of this entire experience was walking through the…read moredoor to actually do the shoot. At 61, stepping in front of a camera and allowing myself to be vulnerable wasn't exactly easy. I had plenty of nerves and insecurities walking in. But from the moment I arrived, Kelly and Naomi made me feel comfortable, welcomed, and completely at ease. Of course, it started pouring rain the second I arrived , but Kelly came out to greet me with an umbrella. We headed inside and up the beautiful wooden staircase where all the makeover magic happens! Kelly did my hair and makeup and absolutely worked her magic. She did an amazing job with my thin, fine hair and my 61-year-old skin. She helped me choose a couple of outfits from the incredible wardrobe of sexy lingerie, and then Naomi came in and helped select a few more. Then we headed downstairs to the studio, which is absolutely beautiful and has such a quaint, intimate feel, with gorgeous woodworking, old fireplaces, AND furniture that all has names! Naomi was amazing behind the camera. She knows exactly how to pose you, adjust your hair , make you laugh, and get you moving. She is relentless when it comes to getting the perfect shot--and I mean that as the biggest compliment! My favorite poses were with Lorraine... IYKYK! And let me tell you, being 61 and not nearly as flexible as I used to be, I still managed to get those poses in! Apparently, I had a little more in me than I thought! She had me laughing, shimmying, posing, and even doing boomerangs... IYKYK! Somewhere along the way, I completely forgot about being nervous. That's probably the biggest thing I'll take away from this experience. I walked through that door feeling vulnerable and unsure of myself, and by the time I was finished, I felt confident, beautiful, sexy, and comfortable in my own skin. And then came the photographs... Let me just say, choosing favorites is nearly impossible because you are going to want EVERY SINGLE ONE! Kelly and Naomi, thank you for taking what felt like such a scary step for me and turning it into such a fun, empowering, hilarious, and unforgettable experience. Sometimes the hardest part is simply walking through the door--and I'm so glad I did.
