Owner and staff publicly gossips about parents. Favoritism results in 3 out of 22 girls being showcased without talent being deciding criteria. It is a lot of money to invest in my daughter standing in the back. Carpets are very unclean. Ugly 80's gym uniform knock off outfits required for practice cost $90. 2 1/2 years with 6 + months 1 on 1 and my daughter could not do a handstand. They keep to lower level events in order to increase trophies and banners. This makes them appear better than they are. 5/22 parents at least left the team due to hostile environment being supported by owner. If you are even 1 minute late then the team parent and staff publicly bash you and continue to do it repeatedly once you are there. Adult targeted a 6 year old and the owner supported the adults behavior. Fund raising is decent if you are with Kathleen. Karlette's site is said to be a tense and toxic environment. Tumbling for preschool: the instructor literally put her head upside down and had the kids play in her hair. This was lengthy and was instead of the gymnastic instruction they were being paid for. Repeatedly wasted time of tumbling practice. No cancelation policy for 1 on 1. They don't even allow you to find someone else to take the slot. Owner in writing canceled practices and fraudulently charged. This was not a policy covered charge. Brian had some improvement with my daughter as an instructor when compared to others. My recommendation is go to ICE. They have policies to prevent a toxic environment.

After roughly 18 consecutive years of being loyal patrons, at the request of our 12 year old…read moredaughter, our family left DeVeau's School of Gymnastics. Our child was made to feel uncomfortable and unsafe by owner/operator, Luke Lautzenheiser. It's been a few months and she still cries daily. DeVeau's coins itself as "...your kid's HAPPY PLACE" but how is that the case when a child is bullied and retaliated against (by the new owner) at the only gym she's known since age 3? This review is not to bash the gym but to share our heartbreaking experience. For my 12 year old child- it's about kids hearing the devastating voice of their peer and her inability to comprehend being bullied and retaliated against by an 'adult' at a place she once called her second home. For us as parents- it's about an unbelievable experience at a place we've loved, raved about and supported for many years and the continual mental trauma our 12 year old daughter suffers from months after making one of the hardest decisions of her little life. DeVeau's isn't the same place it used to be. Now the new owner walks out on the practice floor to intimidate children during practice. It's a place where children who are learning/practicing skills that if not fully focused could potentially cause harm being put in the position to focus on- Is Mr. Luke going to approach me today and if so, when and where? That was our child's focus at practice even with parental support in attendance. After giving notice, Luke still found a way to come after her by having his program manager attempt to keep her from competing at (what my kid calls "Big Kid's Nationals") USA Gymnastics Championships (although she qualified at her first competition) by failing to register her and not telling us until after the deadline. Yes, this happened at DeVeau's. Thankfully, a new gym (out of state) allowed her to join their team and they were able to get that corrected so she could practice and compete at Nationals. Sadly, this is the kind of retaliatory behavior that happens when a child doesn't agree to stay at DeVeau's once the gym owner apologizes after admittedly making her feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there are no other trampoline and tumbling programs in the Indianapolis area so our daughter had to give up her dream of continuing the sport for her current safety. There are so many wonderful coaches at DeVeau's and they are the best part of the gym. Even with the traumatic experience our daughter endured, she does have many wonderful memories of her time with coaches she loves. Those experiences are the things we will cherish. Hopefully those memories will help her in her healing process.

Her instructor Rochelle is engaging, kind, and supportive of the kids and overall it has been such a wonderful experience. It's clear from the caliber of the studio and the high quality of classes, that all the instructors and co-owners take pride in what they do and conduct the studio with professionalism. Ashley and Suzann are true professionals, both with incredibly impressive dance backgrounds and education. Their love of ballet and care for their students shines through every aspect of CIAoD. We're looking forward to the spring recital, summer camps and can't wait until our youngest is old enough to join the CIAoD family as well. I highly recommend this studio to anyone seeking out a dance studio in the central Indiana region.

I was impressed from registration to our first visit to the classes. My daughter (6) has been eager…read moreto take gymnastics. We did our research and landed on Dana Mannix. We registered online. The process was easy and very informative. All our questions from billing, to location, times, instructors, etc were answered at registration. The first class we came in and we were immediately greeted as we approached the front desk. I let them know it was our first visit. They welcomed us, introduced the instructor to me and my daughter and let us know how the process worked. The class is one hour and there is no wasted time. They move from station to station and get instructions on how to do the work they are focusing on. I look around at all the instructors and students and see many, many smiles and excited faces. I see the kids confidence being boosted as they accomplish the task at their skill level. They are challenged and encouraged. Our instructor's name is Faith. She is doing great with her group. Looking around, I see many instructors with kids at different skill levels all doing great things with their students. I am very happy with this gym. The equipment is well padded, the gym has much to offer in a safe environment. They have an excellent observation area right on floor level where things can be seen and heard. There is also a play area for kids not in gymnastics and WiFi is offered to guests.

I was very impressed with their presentation and focus on development of kids who may otherwise fall into an 'at risk' or overlooked group. Their emphasis is on math and science, with the goal to prepare all of their students for college. They're part of the non-profit Concept charter school system. While my daughter wasn't at all at risk, we were selecting her first school after preschool and wanted to start on the right track. I've witnessed her develop academically and socially with this very disciplined curriculum. This school requires uniforms, which I appreciate, and is heavy on discipline, but it seems the children respond well to their routine and are eager to excel. She brings home more than the average amount of homework, but is also in honors classes, with a 3.78 GPA. IMSA North continues to add a grade level each year and will soon be building a high school to meet the needs of their growing student population. They've added a new library this year and have many activities that involve the students throughout the year. I've joined my daughter for lunch a few times and disagree with the militant protocol they use. Quite uncomfortable. Outside of that, the teachers are dedicated and my daughter is flourishing. She'll remain here so long as she is happy and continues to progress.
