2026 June 26 I changed USD ($300) + CAD ($23.8) to ¥40,000 Japanese Yen today in Vancouver international airport. In Japan, I checked the currency rate and it is ¥161 to $1 USD, which is equivalent ~¥50,000. Definitely there is some mistake, I believe. Please Check my case, let me know what should I do. I checked others review and knew the answer of ICE customer service "Rate in YVR is much better than their online exchange rate". Roughly, they took 25% exchange fee from the official currency rate and it is quite match to my situation. Recommendation for future travellers: 1. Read other's reviews carefully before you exchange your currency. 2. Use your own calculator before you exchange the currency. 3. Absolutely horrid exchange rate usd for Mex, which I knew and should have completely avoided this place. First of all, funny business counting the money back to me so I'd be confused as to how much I was actually getting - not cool. But 13 Mex for 1 usd is literally highway robbery and they should close this ripoff down. So fcking mad right now but I also hate to not have at least a few local dollars on me. Lesson learned. I exchanged dollars for Mexican pesos and was told the exchange rate was 14/1. I reviewed the exchange rate on the currency app, and it stated 20/1. I thought the app had not been updated, due to this discrepancy. I exchanged the money at this company and found that I had lost a substantial amount of money. I stopped at this currency exchange business after I arrived from South America. A young man and lady were behind the desk talking. They just ignored me for a while. Finally she asked me what I wanted, which was to exchange pesos into US dollars. She repeatedly asked me to count it, but I was having trouble because I had been up for 30 hours. Finally I said can you help me. She counted it, and slapped my money down on the counter as if she were just done with me and my incompetence. Not a thank you for your business or have a nice day or anything. The rudest person who should not be dealing with the public. And this was the first person I encountered on re-entering the US. Complete rip off!!!! Stopped here to exchange a couple of hundred dollars for peso before heading to Mexico. The vacant eyed idiot at the counter took my money before I even said what I was exchanging it for. Turns out they are pretend that the exchange rate is 17/1 when I have followed the exchange rate everyday for about two weeks and it is not 17/1. (At the time of this message it's 21.3/1. You will lose money here, and have a bad experience. Go Elsewhere!!!!!! 4 out of 4 for bad experiences in this Houston airport. I feel sad for you if this is your home airport. read more

Indeed this place at IAH sucks. Rude and ridiculously awful exchange rates. Offered peso at 15-1 instead of 20-1, which was published amount. I was too stupid to ask and assumed that a company in USA would be less scammy than those in Mexico. Got screwed out of many a peso. And the lady was terribly rude. I arrived in Houston with a few thousand yen in my wallet. I spotted this place on my way out & thought I might as well get the money exchanged. So I parked my mom with my luggage & walked up to the window & faced a very unhappy employee who oozed the warmth of an iceberg. I told her I needed to exchange some yen to dollars whilst I put my money on the counter. She unceremoniously put her book down, pursed her lips as she glared at the counter & quipped, "We DON'T take coins". So I scooped up the coins while she grabbed the bills & told me how much my total would be then sat back & looked at me with a vacuous stare. "Uh, that's fine" I said after a couple of awkward seconds of silence. Like a voice activated robot she slapped some bills on the counter, picked up her book & continued to read. If I wasn't just off the plane after a 2 week trip spent with family 24/7 (for those of you who are Asian you totally get what I mean by that), a 11 hour flight & going through customs, I would have gladly shoved my exchange up her bottom if it wasn't for that rather large stick that was already there. read more
