They play good music and have just recently updated the entire rink and more importantly their skate rentals. Their prices are very fair and the floor itself is in great shape. They just got a whole bunch of new video games as well. My daughter just had a birthday party there and their staff were so helpful and attentive! It was the easiest party I've ever done, and didn't have to bring anything but a cake, they provided all the food, drinks and paperware, and of course the entertainment!

Roller Coaster is stuck in the 1970's, is dirty, has never been renovated, and is very run down. It's sister rink in Cleveland is just as bad (It's the same family running both rinks into the ground). Even the floor needs resurfacing badly (Despite some other reviewer's comments). There is a difference between being an "older" rink and being a trashy, dirty, unmaintained rink. Sorry, but a rink ran so poorly deserves to go out of business and let someone else do the job right.

Had been going to Ft. O instead since about equal distance to this one... but now Playland will be an option again. The floor warp that has nearly killed me in past... seems to be fixed... at least I have not hit it and had "come to Jesus" moment yet. I would encourage them to get a water fountain, real DJ options, and planning games (tag, backward skating songs, etc). They maybe doing more on weekends... and we will definately come and see if that is a more exciting time to come. Thanks for revamping the Dalton Skate. All the skates were in good shape, and since we booked a private party, Jody even played our own music. She was very accommodating and made sure everything ran smoothly. I'll admit I was initially nervous upon first glance/entering...I was the only black person there and the people I went with where white, but that feeling was fleeting. Everyone was friendly and I had a great time, I'll def. recommend it to my friends who come to knoxville and want to roll!
