The Chattanooga Zoo was so much fun! It took around 2 hours and we went on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not crowded at all!

The Chattanooga Zoo was a pleasant surprise; my wife and decided to head to the zoo kid free. The zoo is definitely kid friendly, and while the zoo is kind of small, we enjoyed a lot of the exhibits. We went in late winter, so it would be nice to see the zoo in late spring to see if they have some beautification programs.

We love this place and have renewed our membership a few different times over the years. There is plenty to see for a great price (and you don't have to pay to park which seems to be a rarity in Chattanooga these days). During the harsher weather, there are indoor areas where you can take shelter from the cold or heat with animal habitats both in and outside. They are continuously growing and adding new exhibits and animals, and their events are fun for kids and adults alike. There's also a petting area for goats and a play area for the little ones. It can easily take two hours if you look at everything and go to some of the events on the schedule for the day. My favorite animal here is the Komodo dragon - it's wild to see something so large up close. If you have a favorite animal, you can also pay to experience an encounter with the animal. We have never done this, but we've seen it with the meerkats, and it seems to be very intimate and surreal. BONUS: If you get there early in the day, you may see some of the nocturnal animals being more active, particularly if they are being fed. It also helps beat the crowd so you can really view everything at your own pace.

Very nice zoo with plenty of things for kiddos to do. Beautiful day out to spend with family.

Super cool and very fun place to go, They have a lot of really cool things to see here, The giraffes were crazy, the little monkey were very neat to watch, Would highly recommend coming here, Would of given 5 stars but some stuff was closed and there's construction, Which isn't really bad.

I really love zoos and have been to many in the USA and even Europe. Although I've lived in Chattanooga since 1996 I never went to the zoo until 2023. I'm really happy to say it was a great experience. The exhibits were clean and neat and they have a wide range of things to see. If you have kids they have a petting area as well as a playground to keep them happy.

Our trip to the zoo did not disappoint - my children (3 and 7) had a great time! We purchased tickets online (we saved $2 this way) and made our way to the zoo. We were surprised to find a huge playground and even softball fields near the parking lot. It was a very slow Thursday morning and not many visitors so we were able to truly soak in every minute at the zoo and all of the animals and exhibits. They provided paper maps and also had QR codes you could scan to view the map on your phone. They had a large variety of exotic animals and even a petting zoo area to pet goats and see the alpacas and camels. Tons of peacocks everywhere! Just roaming around, hopping from fence to fence and even on the roofs of buildings. So fun to see them! This is a top attraction in Chattanooga and we were very excited to check it out for the first time. We didn't try any food or drinks here but we were able to bring in our own reusable cups with water already inside and they did offer water fountains with water refill stations. We did not have a stroller with us but we did see a few families with strollers around the zoo.

The Komodo actually seemed interested in us, came right up to say hello a few times!

Nice small zoo, perfect for a leisurely stroll to check out some animals and just enjoy a day out and about. It doesn't take long to go through the entire zoo so make sure you take it slow and enjoy each of the animals to the fullest. We played with the Tamarin for quite awhile, they were very entertaining and interactive. The giraffes are the main attraction and they know it! They prance around and show off, not camera shy at all! The grounds are well maintained and the enclosures are adequate size for the animals comfort. They all seemed content and healthy in their environment. We visited the zoo back in April and there were several signs and promises of things to come so we'll be back when we return to the area. The only issue is the staff, they seem very disinterested in any of the visitors or their job in general. They didn't affect our visit, we enjoyed ourselves despite their attitudes but they definitely didn't enhance our visit.

This is a very cute little zoo. Chattanooga is a great town, and I was happy to try something new there after having been there so many times before. I grew up in St. Louis, so the zoo is much smaller than what I am used to. But they do a great job and are constantly making improvements and additions. The price was fair, and it took about 45 minutes to see everything at the time we went. The monkeys were definitely my favorite. Super adorable and fun to watch. While you are in Chattanooga, I recommend Julie Darling Donuts, Brewhaus, and River Street Deli.

This is the third year in a row. We have visited the zoo while on vacation in Chattanooga. Usually we come in November, but I was so glad we decided to come a month earlier in October because we got to take advantage of the carousel being open& the train running! Apparently they only run from March till October, which we were unaware of in the previous two years. Overall a great time, and I love the addition of the breast-feeding Lactation pod that was newly added for mothers with children that are nursing. As to be expected, Gift shop is a bit overpriced. God is good!

Great little zoo, wasn't as big as some zoos I have visited, but it didn't disappoint. Not crowded at all and had a great time.

I was excited to experience it and bring the children along with us! For the price, I feel like the overall experience could have been a little better. I saw the prices online but must have misread them because I assumed it was $17.99 for adults and $8.00 for children. However, my wife said she paid $80.00 for the four of us. The customer service from Mr. Roger was AMAZING! I really enjoyed how he interacted with everyone, made sure we were watching our steps, and kept us informed along the way. His personality and customer service definitely made the experience a 4-star experience for me! The ride up was nice, and we were able to see so many beautiful homes along the way. The views were absolutely gorgeous! Once we reached the top of the mountain, we went to the observatory deck, where we enjoyed taking in the beautiful city views. Afterward, we left the trolley and took a short walk around the neighborhood. The views on the ride back down were beautiful . The line wasn't long at all, and I loved that the trolleys run every 10 minutes, which makes it convenient when you're ready to head back down. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I'm glad we got to enjoy it as a family. I just wish the price matched the overall experience a little better.

Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is another popular attraction located in downtown Chattanooga,…read moreTennessee. You'd never expect an under the radar city like Chattanooga to have so many wonderful landmark attractions like Ruby Falls, Rock City Gardens and now here at the Incline Railway, but Chattanooga is a worthwhile stop for any adventurer's journey. It's $22 roundtrip to ride 1450 feet at an incline grade of up to 72% to and from the summit of Lookout Mountain. It's about a 10 minute journey in total for riders to enjoy forest surrounding views while trekking up inside a customized railway car. Once up at the Summit Station high atop Chattanooga, there are two lookout observation points to check out. The first one is up a flight of stairs right in front of the train car exit area. Here you can admire Chattanooga's valley floor looking down below with the train tracks being the centerpiece focal point. Next, up two flights of stairs is an Upper Observation Platform. This section has more room for visitors to walk around and take family photos while breathing in the fresh air from 2400 feet high. It's a similar vantage point to the first observation deck, but still, nice to take in perspectives from all angles. There's a small gift store and cafe/fudge shop to purchase snacks and keepsakes. If interested, you can learn history about the Incline railway walking through the Centennial Exhibits located off to the left hand side of the Summit Station. Tourists can take as much time as they'd like enjoying the sceneries atop Chattanooga. Most folks seemed to hang out for about 45 minutes - 1 hour before departing back down Lookout Mountain. Extra notes... - To control crowds, train departures leave every 30 minutes. But, if you purchased a ticket for a 10am ride and the railway car is full, you'll be forced to wait in line for the next departure, not necessarily at 10:30am, but more like 10:20am given the 10 minute rides each way to and from the summit. My suggestion would be to get in line 15 minutes early prior to a 10am departure. The specific 30 minute intervals are used more as a guide to help to spread out the crowds from arriving all at once and then creating a bottleneck situation. - Incline Railway hours are 9am - 6pm/7pm daily. The railway is located in downtown Chattanooga. You can find limited parking on the side streets for free, but there's also a large parking lot for visitors to leave their cars. It is pay by the hour. It'll cost a few dollars extra ($3 - $5) for parking. - The railway car and ride to the summit is not scary. For those with a fear of heights, you should not be deterred. In the end, Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is a pretty worthwhile activity that should not be missed for visitors coming to Chattanooga.

It's a great ride to introduce friends to Chattanooga and to be able to look out and see the city and surrounding state. Make sure your friends don't have issues with height before you go. I had two friends, who were not prepared for how sharp incline is. For some reason, they thought we would be on flatland once we got to the top, but the railroad is inclined the entire top stop. We enjoy looking out at the surrounding states and then going down to the bottom floor to look at how the rail system works. Don't forget to stop in the gift shop as they had some of the best shortbread cookies. I've been two other times and these were a new item. I'll definitely return if I have friends in town visiting!

Near the end of the night one of the members of my party accidentally bounced into an area of the park that was undergoing maintenance. It was a 7 foot concrete pit! Mind you she was jumping on a trampoline, so she didn't fall from ground level, she fell from several feet ABOVE ground level. To be fair, there was a small plastic chain over the entrance, but my friend easily cleared this when she was double bounced in that direction. We're estimating that she fell a distance of at least 12 vertical feet in total. As a result, she suffered spinal compression fracture that left her in a back brace for 8 weeks. When the injury occurred none of the teenage staff knew what to do, so thank goodness she had friends there who could take her to the emergency room. Not before a well-meaning employee offered my friend her hand and attempted to help her up, however. Word to the wise, if you've suffered a spinal compression fracture DO NOT MOVE, it'll make things worse. In hindsight we should have called 911 and waited for the professionals to put her on a stretcher, but neither we nor the staff knew that at the time. I wish I was making this up, but my friend is now half an inch shorter and very familiar with her local physical therapy center. In the interest of fairness, nobody wanted my friend to fall into a 7 foot concrete pit. It even had a little chain and sign. I would argue however, that at a trampoline park, it shouldn't be possible to do so. Laws of entropy kind of dictate that masses of bouncing people will eventually land in untended places. I shouldn't have to spell out the need for safety nets or protective barriers to the owners of a trampoline park... Aren't there building codes for this kind of thing? Thankfully the victim this time was a 21 year old with fully developed bones. I shudder to think of the consequences if a child had fallen that distance.
