The store isn't as big as the Melbourne one though but still offers two levels. One level is the ladies clothing and the second level is split between kids and men's. They aren't offering homewares like the Melbourne store does. They have some good options for men and the quality is better then what you are going to get for a similar price in the likes of Cotton On. I stocked up on some much needed items to get me through the winter months. Overall the store is a miniature version of what H&M offers and they are due to have a CBD store at the end of 2015 which will be a similar size to the Melbourne GPO store.

Maybe I've just been spoiled by the giant flagship San Fransisco store which has the world's biggest mens section (men: the forgotten sex, who get about 1/10th the fashion women normally do), and there's some pretty schweet new athletic range, but what I really wanted was the experimental range, the avant-garde stuff with long asymmetrical T's, zips in weird places, stretched necks, all that kind of thing. And the nicer suit-y garb, the wool jackets and cream suits and such. But most of it is like a glorified Cotton On, sadly. And where's the big homewares section that Melbourne gets?! It's super cheap though, which is great. I'm holding out for the CBD store. That has to have all the cool stuff, surely.

Sure the prices are high but these are designer brands after all and to be expected. Although I have to admit Incu marks it up quite high. This place fits right into my approach to shopping. I don't shop often at all so I have a small wardrobe, but when I do I tend to buy investment pieces that would last me years. I have bought a few items here (mostly when its on sale) and even the most simple items look different when worn. My favourite designer is Alexander Wang and his casual wear line is amazing. He puts a bit of cool to my usual uniform of jeans and t-shirt! The assistants there are usually design students and are nice enough when approached. I guess the clothes speak for themselves and their demeanor reflective of most designer stores. Truth is, at current market conditions, I would rather shop online because you can get all of these designers on websites such as net-a-porter at much lower prices. But if I can't wait or if its sold out overseas, this is when I head to Incu. Lovely store with beautiful clothing.

Incu is great, expensive but great, I don't often buy anything as I don't want to spend $45 for a singlet or $120 on shorts, but if I had an unlimited budget and less clothes I would shop there. They sell casual designer clothes from leading design houses and their clothes cover a range of styles, but are all excellent quality and extremely stylish. Although I try to keep my credit card in my pocket, I still like to have a browse.

I purchased a suit that fit extremely well and it was purchased at a very reasonable price. The store is organized very well and they have very good choices for the well-dressed guy. One thing that really impressed me was the customer service - it was fantastic! A very nice woman helped with getting the correct sizes and she was extremely knowledgeable, patient and seemed to really care. She even offered the arrangement of the alteration so I could have everything ready the following day - that was great! This was a bit more of an upscale store (from an American perspective in pricing), but it was well worth it since I left I very satisfied customer.

As with all discount outlets you have to be careful what you choose, there are good things and then there are some incredibly bad things. But I must admit, the good win. They have lovely fashion items for men and women at low prices but fairly good quality and they also sell all the accessories to go with them. I went in for a look and left with a pair of pants suitable for work or casual wear. It was an expensive research mission!

Plutos does its best to be that place…read more A tiny body wear store tucked away on Hall Street, specialises in bras, underwear and all other undergarments. None of the fancy stuff, mainly Bonds. So pretty plain but comfortable things. It's a great concept for a store but a larger variety wouldn't hurt. Since it's so small everything is rather compacted and stuffy so not much room for browsing without bumping into someone else. Even though it has a good selection of basics, I'd rather get my Bonds undies and singlet's from a store like Target where there is a much larger variety, often specials and discounts and they don't get pissed off at you if you need a plastic bag to carry all your new purchases. Yep, once the guy at the counter in Pluto's told me I hated the environment because I needed a plastic bag to carry my new bras. Perhaps I should have worn them as hats and strolled along the street home.

The Local Store in Newtown is very different from the local store in TV show "The League of…read moreGentlemen" ("this is a local store for local people"), I was able to leave this Local Store alive. Local Store is a trendy urban fashion store, which based on the number of skateboards on dale is aiming at a skater market, I am not a skater but I would buy clothes there. I just bought an awesome t-shirt from Insight's Garage Artist's range, designed by Japanese artist Yaki Allen a white shirt featuring a black hole design, very cool. They also have the coolest headphones and ear-plugs, I have seen on sale in Sydney, I particularly like a pair of 80's style smaller wire headphones but with a ultra-modern design and in blue, red and yellow colour (that's three colours in one pair, not three separate colours, bit out of my price range, but everyone needs a dream.

And inspiring that all this great stuff is in the one shop. The change rooms are up the back and the staff are ready to help you try on something in an encouraging way. I don't think they have any problems selling stuff from this shop, as everything is very cool. It's all urban street wear, even the shoes available are for the everyday urbanite.
