The egg foo young was okay. Good enough I'd have it here again. The egg roll was good though I'd have to say nothing special. The crab Rangoon's were a huge disappointment. Fresh, but forgettable. I ordered online, and my order was ready very quickly. The shop is small, and the counter is plastic plastered for Covid precautions. The shrimp tempura appetizer was three pieces of shrimp, and then assorted vegetables. The website didn't share that the order was half veggies, and if it had we might have picked something else, as it's a bit pricey for the veg assortment. Everything seemed quite fresh, but the tempura had almost no flavor. The wonton soup had the best flavor of the entire meal. The Philly roll was good. The shrimp Rangoon was basic, and mostly cream cheese. The filling was bland at best, and again, the exterior had almost no flavor. The pizza roll was basic but decent. Overall, it was okay, and it's always great to have super fresh ingredients, but flavor was lacking. read more

Totally shocked! Was our go to take out for Chinese & after tonight will need to look for a new go - to. Ordered the sesame chicken combo platter and asked for brown rice , instead looked like rice pudding , couldn't even eat this. We ordered take out, and the food was ready quickly! If you use the online ordering it says they'll email you a pick up time, but we got a call saying food was ready. We got a mix of entrees from the Chinese menu and everything was fairly average. From what I personally tried, the wonton soup was a bit bland and the crab Rangoon was oddly sweet. So the reason I'm giving a 3 instead of a 4 is because I thought the food was just ok. The part that got me was that the food was so salty and there was a lot of rice. When I bite into the roll, it's just... rice. A good roll should have a nice ratio of rice and sauce and crunch (none of these had crunch even though the description mentions crunch) and fish. I was extremely full eating half of my order but just from... rice. Another thing that bothered me was that I LOVE wasabi. I eat as much wasabi as a Japanese person probably. I like to have at least a tip of a chopstick amount of wasabi per sushi roll, but when I got my order, I received a LOT of soy sauce but only about 2 bean size amounts of wasabi (if you look at my photos, you can barely see the wasabi). It's one thing to give too much, but to barely have enough wasabi for my order was disappointing. On top of it all, these rolls aren't cheap. I got 3 rolls for $42 on Grubhub. For the price I pay, I expect better quality. And I've eaten a lot of sushi in my life so when I don't like something that means I really don't like it. The reason I give 3 stars is because the overall flavors are ok and they're quick with my order. But the biggest factors that make it a 3 and not a 4 or 5 are mentioned above. Would I come here again? It's hard to say. Was this just a bad day for them? Was their original chef somewhere else? Pro's Food was overall good and made in a timely manner Con's: There wasn't a single piece of pork in my "pork" fried rice and they charge you almost 4% for using a CC, but do not even remotely mention it. If they had, I would've paid cash when I picked it up. It's nothing crazy, but it's good business practice to inform your customers that there's an added charge to use their CC before you process the bill. read more

We ordered this on a whim as a takeout order and I'm so glad we took the time to make the 20 minute drive. We ordered the following: -Pork gyoza -Beef with garlic sauce -Spring rolls -Crab Rangoon The beef entree was e highlight of the order, extremely tender and flavorful with lots of fresh vegetable and delicious garlic sauce. Once I tasted it I was instantly sad I didn't order more. Crab Rangoon was was highly flavorful but the crab was extremely sparse. In fact a couple of pieces pretty much all of the filing had evaporated during the frying process and since there was no crab bits left behind I take it they're just light handed in their filling. The spring rolls were delicious. Gyoza was delicious as well. Looking forward to going back and exploring more menu items. read more

I ordered takeout from them online and paid for it when I ordered. Sushi was average at best, but for the quality you get of the fish it was not worth it. Also, some of the rice in each roll was cooked so it was hard, when none of it was supposed to be cooked. When I went to pick it up they asked if I had cash and I said no and they said okay and I took my food and left. My card was charged an additional 8 dollars for "credit card fee" that they never told me about. I would not order from there again, nor would I go there in person after their shady business practices. read more

When I first arrived at Ichiban, I was excited. A new place to eat with my "friends". But when I walked inside I was immediately off put. After I paid to get in (which was way too much money, to begin with) I sat down at a very sticky table, picked up my plate, and got to work. I started with the sushi, then the fried chicken, crab, and finally some crawdads and a large sausage. The sushi tasted fine, but the next day the toilet sure wasn't happy with me. When I was just about to bite down on my fried chicken, I noticed something peculiar, When I first opened the chicken I noticed a putrid yellow tint of the chicken color. I then busted open the crab and noticed foul-smelling brown liquid moisture inside. At this point, I'm struggling not to vomit as I move on to my crawdads. Now growing up in Louisiana, Me and my pop went crawdad catching all the time, So I was excited to see that Ichiban had some. But when I started to eat I spat it out immediately there was a long, black hair on my crawdaddy. Finally, I tried the sausage, and when I say when I bit into that bad boy I quite therroughly enjoyed it. As I sucked down the remains of my sausage, I began to collect myself and prepared to walk out. But then I noticed the ice cream bar. My favorite sushi in the Manayunk area! My favorites are the angel roll, the amazing roll, and the spicy tuna is the best spicy tuna I've had from anywhere- it's a staple!
