We had requested the removal of our reverse osmosis unit and to convert our dual drain sink to a single drain: Since we were getting new countertops and a new sink placed, they recommended the removal of the reverse osmosis and prep for the drain work in the first call out. For the second call out after the countertops and sink were installed I was told they wouldn't charge me for the call out fee and instead charge the hourly rate of $180 - sure, great. That's basically the standard pricing information I got by calling around. My main issue is that once the second call out was finished, I was charged $490.00 for 1.5 of work and materials. I was confused since the $180 hourly rate for even 2 hours of work was $360. They then informed me that since the previous job he was at was an hour away from me I was responsible for paying for his time to drive to my house? Not only that, the plumber told the manager that he was at my home for an hour and 45 minutes, which wasn't true. I have a ring doorbell that shows him arriving exactly at 1PM and walking out of my door at 2:33PM - which 5/10 minutes prior to that he was standing in my entry way collecting payment and discussing the pricing with me. In total we spent $730 on a job that took (collectively) 2.5 hours and only $35 of that total was for materials for the pipe and attachments/fittings under the sink. I'm no expert in plumbing but I've since discussed this with a number of people who are pretty shocked at the amount of money we had to pay for what is considered a relatively simple project. After speaking with Phillip he explained everything to me, which I appreciated, and offered to refund us $100 If that would "make me happy." I declined the refund because he made it seem like I was the only customer to call with this complaint. It really isn't even about the money, it is really about integrity and transparency. Had I known I had to pay for the plumbers time from driving point A to point B (regardless of how far away) I wouldn't have felt so blindsided by that cost. Also, the additional 15 minutes the plumber said he was there when he actually wasn't was really just a flat out lie. Long story, long: No, I won't be using them again and I don't recommend using them either.

Scheduled a service call through my home warranty (HSA) after what appeared to be a power surge…read morethat damaged multiple items and systems in my home. The issues included non-functioning switches (fireplace, Venmar air exchange system, bathroom), a new fan and fire alarm needing installation, and several appliances and tools that failed at the same time. I clearly explained these concerns when the appointment was set. The technician (Scott from A1) arrived about 30 minutes earlier than scheduled, before I was home. My wife was there, but the scope of the visit had already been documented with the warranty company. During the visit, only one issue was addressed--a worn bathroom switch, which was replaced quickly. The other requested items (fan installation, fire alarm installation, and diagnosis of the fireplace and air exchange system) were not completed or meaningfully evaluated. The technician then left before I arrived. The report submitted to the warranty company indicated that no further work was needed. As a result, the primary issues that prompted the service call remain unresolved, and I no longer have a clear path through the warranty provider to have them addressed. If you're using a home warranty service for multiple or complex electrical issues, I would recommend confirming in advance that the technician has reviewed the full scope of work and will stay to complete or properly diagnose each item.

We started with checking the required licenses of this business. Here on Yelp this business, which is claimed, advertises they are "General Contractors". Per Nevada State Contractors Board, they're not General Contractors and never have been. Furthermore, later the Nevada State Contractors Board web site changed to this business has no valid contractors license. Weird, huh? We checked with City of Reno, and this business has no City of Reno Business License. That didn't matter to Code Enforcement Officer Cynthia or City of Reno Business License Department, although Reno Municipal Code requires a business license to transact business in Reno. Weird, huh? On this business website, it advertises "U-B-Fixed is family owned and operated by Oceana Grabinowski". Per Nevada State Contractors Board, that's not true. Weird, huh? When we contacted the business about these discrepancies and ask about a Military Veterans Discount, the telephone number was disconnected. At that point we reasonably assumed the business was no longer in business in Nevada. Per Nevada State Contractors Board, advertising one is a contractor or that one performs or completes construction work or a work of improvement without required statement in their advertisements that they're NOT licensed as a contractor is a violation of NRS 624.720 Unlawful advertising; any person NOT licensed who advertises to perform or complete construction work or a work of improvement MUST state in the advertisement that they're NOT licensed as a contractor. Per Nevada State Contractors Board, NRS 624 requires that ALL electric, plumbing, hvac OR something that requires a Building Permit; OR ALL work $1,000 or more in labor AND materials; OR work that is performed as a part of a larger project the value of which is $500 or more REQUIRES a contractors license; and that contracting without a license is a crime AND a NRS 598 Deceptive Trade Practice. NAC 624.640  Bid or contract void if licensee exceeds scope of license or monetary limit; duties of licensee. After they completed that Work they came back and said all controls need replaced. I called them back out to say they would not work with me and put me on a Black list.
