If I could choose no stars I would. They do not fix anything. The lease I had stated that they would take care of the lawn but no one mowed it so we had to. When we moved out they made us pay for all items that needed fix as well as items that needed fixed before we moved in. They had the air vents cleaned and the stove burners replaced and took that out of our deposit as well. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! read more

Horrible service!. My mom lives in one of the buildings they manage. Pool was under renovation for over 10 months and yet they charged homeowners during the entire time that pool was not accessable. Would have been faster if they put in a brand new pool. They clearly had not done their due deligence in interviewing and selecting reliable contractors. The two managers do not return e -mails or calls. They have this attitude as if owners have no right questioning things. They take it personal. My mom's window was broken for over 7 months and the ridiculous excuses the building manager would come up with about why they could not fix it, was insulting to any inteligent person. I had to make a formal complaint to CAO. Stay away from this Management Co. Waste of time and money. Hoping that their board of directors will start interviewing a more reliable management company. read more

I've found it quite difficult to get quick or straightforward answers from ICON Property Management at 21 Scollard Street. Communication often feels delayed or unclear, and getting a direct response to even simple questions can be frustrating. They charge predatory fees if you have any small balance. For example we have a $28 balance on our account due to the dues being changed from the previous year. We were charged 3 $25 late fees and 3 interest fees. If you are a home owner WATCH OUT! They are trying to rip you off. read more

ICON is only interested in taking care of their own interests with blatant disregard for the interests of the residents in the buildings they manage. Their staff is unresponsive and unprofessional (George and Olga in particular). ICON takes no interest in residents' concerns and has refused to engage or consult with us on their COVID-19 response. This is by far the worst property management company I have ever experienced. The "On-site manager" is never here. Shows up for a few hours and then leaves. They do not not maintain the building whatsoever. The elevators are constantly down, doors constantly getting broken and left broken. The managers do not care about the buildings they work in or the residents they work for. They are rude, confrontational and if you disagree whatsoever they ignore you and do even less then they already do. unresponsive, unaccountable and utterly useless. They also hire a security company that is equally useless. They just sit there and watch netflix or sports all day. There have been lots of thefts in what is supposed to be a state of the art new condo building. The security doesn't care because the management does not care. The problem starts with ICON management and the lack of responsibility or due diligence or effort to properly maintain and secure a building. The CEO Wes is the worst. He is constantly on vacation, fishing or cottage and could not care less about the buildings his company maintains and supposedly secures. He is just as useless as the rest. Starts at the top. DO NOT EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY. KICK THEM OUT IF YOU DID ALREADY. read more

I live in a building managed by ICON Property Management. They place a senior property manager on paper, hire a junior property manager to actually sit there once in a while, and then get you board to pay for two full-time salaries. Look it up! This apparently isn't even isolated to my building. They subcontract security as part of their bidding process so that they can control your building and avoid blame. If your condo is considering an RFP from ICON, you should seriously consider a separate agreement with a security company that is under your own control. You can avoid excessive markup, and also ensure that security is accountable to the building first and foremost. The company straddles the line between conveniently forgetful and intentionally deceitful. Where they are able to use some judgement, they do so for their own gain, such as with allocating funds to contractors. In our building, ICON somehow found bids for KITEC plumbing that were at least 60 - 70% higher than independent bids that came in from brand name plumbers. At other times, when they're questioned about certain issues, they feign ignorance, and only after being caught, convince your board of directors (after the fact) that the choice was in good judgement. The company is passably competent, but very dishonest. read more

Terrible terrible company. The property managers are so rude and never do their jobs properly. They promise certain things and either put them off indefinitely or the issue is delayed repeatedly (though I understand sometimes things are out of their control). But this seems to be happening with very simple issues. They are a very inefficient company and this is costing their own time, client's time and their tenant's time. Finally, I have had personal dealings with the CEO Mr. Posthumus and he never takes responsibility for the company's mistakes and will just try to find ways to blame his own clients. The management is rude and irresponsible. Moreover, the management office is not taking care of their job responsibility, residents emails and voice mails are not responded. The manager (Mary, 75 North Park Rd) raises her voice to the residence and drops calls. Background: I own a unit in a building that is managed by ICON Property Management Ltd. The building property manager is Christine Agostinho. Monday, May 11th 2015, I email Christine to let her know that the bathroom ceiling in the unit is bubbling. My tenant had informed me of this on Sunday, May 10th 2015. Christine replies to say she's aware and that my tenant had also emailed her. That Monday afternoon, I went to inspect the unit and the bubbling had subsided. Tuesday, May 12th, 2015, I call the super and got an update that the owner of the unit upstairs still has not been in touch. I email Christine and she reports that the owner wasn't able to speak to them and that he would call them back shortly. Wednesday, May 13th, 2015, I sent another email to find out if they have made any further effort to get in touch with the owner of the unit upstairs or has anyone taken a look in the unit to see what's going on. I was informed that they will let me know once a plumber has been in the unit. Wednesday, May 27th, 2015, TWO WEEKS LATER, I emailed Christine for updates. I get a short reply saying the owner just confirmed repairs will take place this week. No date. No other information. No urgency. Nothing. I find this unacceptable. Feel free to form your own opinion. Any property owner knows that when dealing with water issues, it must be dealt with immediately. read more

Heaven forbid your property mgr goes on holiday. The person who fills in may or may not show up during the clearly stated office hours. I own a unit in one of the buildings managed by ICON. I have owned this unit for over 3 years and find that management does a great job of keeping residents informed. The current manager at 600 Queens Quay is very responsive and professional. This is the third condo building I have lived in, in the downtown core and the one I have been most content in. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be too many people wanting to leave positive reviews for a Property Management company since they are not seen as an entity providing customer service. But as someone that is looking in investing in a second unit in the building, I find the negative reviews to be quite contrary to my interactions with this group. read more

Renters and owners beware!!! If you are a tenant in a building managed by Icon be prepared for some pretty crappy treatment. If you move in with an owner of in an Icon managed building, expect the same crappy treatment. I am common-law with my partner, who owns a unit, and so far the management team has been rude and really unhelpful. Their philosophy says this: What makes ICON different? We have a philosophy that Condominium Management is essentially a branch of hospitality management. We pride ourselves on saying yes and making things happen. All too often Property Management Companies try to dictate to Board of Directors rather than the other way around. We will custom tailor our Management style to suit the needs of your building its residents and The Board of Directors. But what they actually say is "No." Period. Not even an explanation, just an incredibly dismissive attitude and rudeness. I was told that "as a courtesy" the building manager would bring our issue to the Board, even though my partner owns the condo. In my correspondence with them, every time the word "owner" was used, it was all in caps, to ensure that I knew my place. Even though my OWNER partner was CCed and fully party to all the emails we exchanged. In moving my complaints up the chain to the management team of the organization, imagine my surprise when I'm once again told, "no, there's no appetite to change that policy" (even though multiple units in the building now want to change the policy). And once again I encountered the OWNER issue. Everything else has been great in the building, but wow, better hope you don't have an issue. read more

Property Management companies often only hear about the 'bad and ugly' events from owners and residents. Hopefully mine will shed a brighter light on a well run, accessible and knowledgeable team at ICON PM. As an owner and Board Member, we were looking to change PM companies. We interviewed 7 and while they all interviewed well, here's what set ICON apart from the rest: 1) Extensive Knowledge of downtown Toronto condo's - new and aging ones 2) Network of experts they can draw from to create expertise needed 3) Personal attention and responsiveness - being accessible and returning calls is a rate commodity these days and finally 4) a strong roster of experienced and qualified PMs. I have now been working with ICON for almost two years now and can honestly say the 4 areas that made them stand out during the interviews are the same four that makes us know we made the right choice in bringing them on. At the end of the day, it comes down to communication and relationships - two hallmarks of what ICON stands for, and delivers with precision and care. read more

I dealt with a specific property manager (David Wallace) that told me my problems (leaky roof) might get corrected in 2 years . Might? So I was told that if I wanted it fixed sooner I would have to pay for it out of pocket. I pay fees every month and I pay for repairs. I listed my condo and sold it immediately and moved. Thanks to Icon, I lost $10,000 from my purchase and selling price. They are not a good bet. You can't even communicate with the Board of Directors because we have no idea who they are or if they even exist. read more

Side Note: I would choose 0 Stars if i could. This has got to be the most useless management company in existence. From the President to GM`s to property managers themselves they are all arrogant, rude and do not care whatsoever about their customers. Every issue begins with them blaming the resident. In mid 2014 we had a large leak in our condo that ended up damaging the majority of our flooring. It also leaked down and caused similar damage to the unit below. Our property manager at the time, Christine Agostinho, immediately blamed us as the cause for the leak without looking into anything at all. They ripped up our floor, cut a hole in the wall and brought in fans and de-humidifiers. These expenses of course were all to be paid by us. After investigating a little further, we discovered the leak was actually caused by negligence of the builder (they hammered a nail from the baseboard into the hot water hose which corroded over time and began leaking. No joke) To our joy we got to pin this all on Christine. Now this is how stupid they are at ICON. Christine got a company to appraise the cost of replacing the floor in our unit and do some minor repairs. Of course the companies they use jack up the prices, which i am sure are usually paid by the residents anyways so why not. This company appraised the job at over $7000.00. We got a company to buy engineered hardwood flooring, install it, install baseboards and quarter round for $3000.00. ICON pissed away $4000.00 of the condos money all because they started this process in a rude and negative way. Had Christine not accused us immediately and handled the situation with respect and maturity, in a timely fashion, we would have just taken the money needed to cover the costs. In the end this saves all residents a bit of money in the condo fees. But no we gladly took the free $4000. This is just one negative issue we have dealt with having ICON as our property management. They do not answer calls or emails and when they do, they pick and choose the questions they want to answer. If you ever have to deal with Wes Posthumus, good luck. Loud, rude, arrogant. Overall douchebag. Yells at you on the phone. Interupts you. Constantly praises his garbage employees. Out of 4 ICON employees I have dealt with, they are all the exact same. If you are ever deciding whether or not to move into a building managed by them or to hire them as your buildings management, I HIGHLY suggest against it. We just finally game them the boot from our building and it has been the best news I have heard all year. read more

We dealt extensively with Icon Property Management for several months at the beginning of 2018. We were preparing a condo for rental, and had a frighteningly-lengthy list of tasks we needed to accomplish before the tenants moved in. Icon went above and beyond for us every step of the way. Every time we called or e-mailed (which was often), Icon was there for us. Specifically, it was Nadir who helped us with everything from gaining access to the unit and granting third-parties (cleaners, movers, etc.) access, changing locks and accessing the mailbox, helping us take out the trash and recycling (and teaching us how to sort it all properly!), performing repairs to the property -- you name it, Icon did it for us. We are aware that Nadir/Icon went way above and beyond what property managers usually do, and we are so grateful. Since our tenants moved in, Nadir has been there to help them with their concerns as well, and the tenants and their realtor both report being extremely satisfied -- Nadir always responds immediately and completes the task excellently. We highly recommend Nadir and the services that Icon Property Management has to offer! read more
