Our 5 year old daughter has LOVED her week at Headfirst (Multi-Sport, St. Albans). I'm writing this…read morereview because I had some concerns after reading other comments - but I think for most children Headfirst would probably be a great experience. It is an investment, but not out of line with other options in major East Coast cities. We are visiting DC from out of town and were all anxious before the first day, but the week at camp has exceeded our expectations. Other kids have been great and every interaction we've had with the counselors/coaches has been very positive. Our daughter has looked forward to camp every morning and informed me last night that she didn't want to go home because she "didn't want to leave" her camp. It's definitely a bigger camp, so that is a consideration if your child would benefit from a lower staff:child ratio. The counselors are on the younger side, but for us - this was a plus because the energy was high and infectious.

This is the second year in a row my 5 year old attends this camp and I couldn't agree more with…read moreJimmy's comment here - this camp is ridiculous. If your kid "doesn't listen" they'll call you constantly to notify you about really unserious stuff. My son has been to a gazillion different camps and attended daycare/school since he was a baby and he's NEVER gotten in trouble other than at Headfirst. Yesterday they even kept him in the "office" for the entire afternoon. Over what? Unclear. I will never be sending him there again.

Booking court rentals and clinics online is a seamless experience. The facility is new, very clean and well organized. The viewing areas and bar are a nice touch. Renting gear is straightforward and affordable. Every staff member (coaches, front desk and cleaning crew) I've interacted with is extremely friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is really inviting. An extremely well run facility!

I signed up for this squash gym thinking it would be a good experience, but it turned out to be a…read morecomplete disappointment. The courts were constantly dirty, the lighting was terrible, and the equipment looked old and barely maintained. Half the time there were scheduling issues, and staff acted annoyed whenever anyone asked for help especially some blonde women at the front desk who desperately needs some Botox. The locker rooms smelled bad, and there never seemed to be enough space during busy hours. The whole gym also felt really unorganized, especially during tournaments and peak times. It was hard to find available courts, and communication from the staff was almost nonexistent. I've been to much better gyms that actually care about keeping the place clean and making members feel welcome. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone

The perfect weekend date night idea doesn't exi-…read more BAM! Want to nail being the top date planner? Here's what should be at the top of your list. The summer breeze running through my hair as I breath in the scene of the wharf on both sides for 2 hours as we engage in small talk with the crew and other patrons - what more could I ask for on a Saturday evening? It's BYOB and food so we stopped by Chop't, grabbed a couple wraps so we could eat something easily handheld, and 2 bottles of wine. Make sure to bring your own cups and utensils. There is a tiny bathroom downstairs (I believe they're called "heads"), but I'd suggest you use the bathroom before heading on board- never fun to be drunk and crammed into a coffin sized bathroom with nowhere to wash your hands (they do have sanitizers though). The staff will guide you to the bathroom beforehand so take advantage of that. There's no "tour guide," but feel free to engage with the crew and ask any questions. We're technically from the area, and I'm very familiar with The Wharf, so I didn't need any of that. I was more in it for the scenery and being on water while watching the sun set. We had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again!

I get they were mainly coordinating the many things that come with sailing, and I wasn't looking for a tour guide or anything, but mom and I only knew what we were near because we happened to overhear it since we sat right next to one of them. Even when we tried to initiate conversation and ask questions, they weren't very talkative. Even though mom and I were talking, it was still a quiet and awkward ride. At the end, he went around and chit chatted a little bit with all the different groups, but not with us, maybe because we already talked to him by asking him questions? We definitely got a weird vibe from it all. The check-in process is smooth and the boat is spacious with a bathroom below deck too and they let you bring your own drinks and snacks, but I'd probably go for another company next time
