I tired to get them to melt slightly but two quick zaps in the microwave and nothing. I am fine with a thinner cookie but it has to be soft in the center for my full appreciation. The small patté had a flaky crust thinly filled with salted cod fish. Prior to eating, an initial sniff test was conducted and the scent was lightly fishy as an obvious result. The first bite provided a burst of salt and a crunchy chew from the crust. The wife would not dare to try it but the patté brought unexpected joy to my tastebuds and I loved it.
