We had a last minute birthday celebration and we picked a cake at the store from the already made. The Dulce de Leche cake for 12-15 people was amazing, fresh and very flavorful. The texture was most and the consstency very soft. I'll buy all my cakes here from now on. I have been here two times. Four times. It was the last second cake hunt for my little one. Both times soooo happy with the cakes. Not a special order but I got whatever they had in there and the fridge and it was delicious and gorgeous because they added extra stuff on it to make it look better for a little boy, which was amazing. My sister contacted Cakes D' Sabores for her son's first birthday. As you can imagine, she was a bit nervous trying a new bakery for the occasion, so I came on Yelp and after reading the reviews I told her I thought she should give them a chance. She went over to talk about the cake, and was very happy with the experience. She even had to postpone the celebration due to a storm and the bakery understood 100% and had the cake ready for the next week. To help my sister out I went to pick up the cake. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and told the cake would be out in just a second. They were just putting the final touches on it. While I waited, and practiced extreme self-control to not buy pastries they had on display, the lady asked me about the birthday, my sister and how she hope the weather that day held up for us to be able to enjoy the celebration. In no time, the cake was out and it was beautiful! Exactly what my sister had envisioned. She told me to go to my car first and adjust the seats and where to place the cake for safe delivery, and then gave me the cake. Sure enough, the placement in the car was perfect. At no point was I worried for it when driving. Once at the party, everyone was in awe with how cute this cake was and even more when they tasted it. Truly an excellent Cake! Bought my son's first birthday cake here a week in advance, paid over the phone on the day I ordered... which was my first mistake!! Had I been the one to pick up the cake.. I wouldn't of taken the cake nor paid for it. My husband picked up my son's cake on his birthday, an hour before his party & my sons name was misspelled. On the day I ordered I spelled his name letter by letter for the employee.. they quickly tried to remove his misspelled name & make a hand written one. It looked very unprofessional, and definitely not worth the cost of the purchase.. I expected more from a bakery!!! She was so detail-oriented, took copious notes, and hosted us for a very extravagant and delicious cake tasting. On the day of the wedding, our cake proved to be otherworldly. In quality, taste, and presentation, the girls at Cakes D'Sabores did a truly outstanding job. When I complained I was told there was a misunderstanding and they don't do chocolate frosting. I needed the cake for a friends birthday party in two hours and had paid for it in advance, so I had no choice but to take it....I wasn't offered anything but an apology. As if it could get any worse than being forced to take a cake I didn't order, it was inedible! while it looked beautiful it was hard, dry and had no flavor other than a horrible after-taste. If I could give this place no stars I would. First of all i knew the cake would be small. But @ $35.00 and the worst icing, frosting or sugar coating was a rip off. The cake part itself wasn't bad but you could even enjoy that because the icing was plastered to the cake. I'm not a fan of Publix cakes like everybody else, but I can say Publix blows this cake out of the water. So between taste and cost I will never return to have another cake made at this bakery. They could learn a thing or two from lovelee in Fort Lauderdale who makes the same size cakes taste 100% better and charges $25 for them. A cute little clean bakery that also sells smoothies, sandwiches and milkshakes...what more could you ask for? Today was my first time trying this little gem and upon entering just knew I would love it. When I walked in it smelled sooo good like fresh baked bread or something. I ended up ordering the vegetarian sandwich ($7.99 , comes with chips and a pickle), which I highly recommend it was really good, all the ingredients tasted fresh. They have a wide variety of pastries, nothing out of the ordinary to a bakery, pretty much the norm...cakes, muffins, cookies, macaroons, doughnuts, cupcakes etc. I also ended up getting a few chocolate chip cookies and a blueberry muffin which were both REALLY good. The prices are all fair and the staff is friendly. Overall , if your in the area and your in the mood for some sweets or even a sand which, definitely stop by. Let me preface by stating that I'm super extra as a mother, my son is 2.5 years old and if he tells me he wants something, it's reasonable and he has been good ... well, I try to make it happen. My husband shakes his head at me often!! My son and have been binge watching baking shows because I love baking and he loves helping me. So finished an entire season of Sugar Rush on Netflix and during the show my son started pointing to the television and stating, "mommy, I want to go there and eat that," or he would say, "mommy, can we go see the bakers." I looked up bakers in the area, that had actual cake slices for sale and we found this bakery. My son loved it because they have a lot of pretty, fondant cakes everywhere but they also sell coffee, food and pastries. My son loves chocolate, smart kid, and he opted for the chocolate rolled cake. The price is super fair and the best part they do cakes. My son's birthday is in May so I'm thinking of giving this place a try. The quality was great and we may stop by for breakfast as a family. The restaurant is clean, they offer breakfast options, milk shakes, cake by slice, pastries, a Colombian meringue pastry (my son loves), empanadas. The decoration was fantastic- they had put a customized theme for him, but above all- the taste was superb. It was vanilla and dulce de leche and it was honestly so delicious- so far above any Publix standard. Really excited by the other reviews to find a high quality bakery. Ordered a vanilla cake with butter creme icing with dulce de leche filling for my birthday. Placed my order online through the Yelp site and it went through and received an order number. A few hours later I received a text message that something had gone wrong and the order had been cancelled. Called in my order in and it was taken by the staff in a friendly manner. I was asked if I wanted a message on the cake and a chocolate drip, which I said yes. The order taker did not tell me any of this would be an up charge. The cake listed for $39.99 on the menu was now about $50. I ordered it anyway assuming that a $50 cake would be excellent. Picked up the cake and it looked great albeit somewhat small in diameter and tall in height. Noticed on the counter many enticing small pastries, which I will have to try in the future. When tasting the cake with very high expectations, I was disappointed. I was not sure the cake was made with cake flour or that it had much butter and vanilla in it. The cake was dry. I could not detect any taste of butter in the butter creme icing and it was excessively sweet. My family all enjoyed the cake, but like I said earlier as a cook and baker I had very high expectations based on the reviews and the price for the cake. I will return to try some of the other pastries and will post a review. read more
