I have to give a 5 star across the board on these folks. We came from an area that had the single most corrupt and greedy power company in the nation. They did nothing for their customers and only helped only themselves. Idaho Power, on the other hand has done something that's as allusive to power company's as the snow leopard is- they went way above and beyond the call. There people were awesome, they don't turn the electric off every time the wind blows and they did something else that truly gut punched me- they sent me a "welcome to the neighborhood gift box". It was really awesome as it contained super high efficiency light bulbs, a little book on how to reduce usage, a night light and even a welcome card. Truly can't ask more out of an electric company. Bravo Idaho Power. It really meant a lot to receive thsr package. Just another example of why we are so happy to be here!!! read more

The DO NOT notify you if you are past due, youre only notification is when the power is turned off. They sure are quick at charging you a reconnect fee also. Just garbage. My experience is that if Autopay does not go through, they have no commitment to contact you. I was 45 days past due before I received any contact. I wouldn't think to contact them tho because I see the money pending withdrawal from my bank app. Smug Bil? is ok knocking like a police officer on the glass rather than the wood of the door, we have a ring camera that could have been pressed and our Alexa would have helped us both out with that if he pressed the button. But he is just kind enough to let us finish a shower. Still, if they contacted us within 30 days of the autopay not working this could have been resolved. Waiting that long made it that I'm paying 3 months of bills for 1 month and 2 months in 1 month. I know who's job that is, it can be fixed. Want help? I'll take that job! I asked Idaho power if they could come remove the top of this tree for me so I could have it pushed over with the big equipment that is currently doing work on my property. The tree suffered from poor health most likely from past trims of Idaho power. I know Idaho power has a tree crew that is not far from my property, yet they still declined my request. The tree is sandwiched between two homes and has a transformer on the other side. The driveway goes to the base of the tree making it a very easy quick trim for Idaho Power. They offered to come out and turn off my service line (black and silver line- that is clearly, not in the way). I care about the safety of Idaho Power trimmers, that is why I let them remove a multitude of young trees from my property. Clearly they do not care about their customers the same way! We pay they too much already, they are so disappointing!!! read more

This Company got out being accountable and responsible by outsourcing their billing to a third party. This vendor can be unaccountable as it hides behind this utilities monopoly status and the weak oversight by the Idaho PUC In my case I signed up for there pay pay portal to pay my bill. Because of some banking account number transpositions tow checks were rejected by the bank. Other than that all Idaho Power bills were paid on time. Trying to correct the account number problem if found that Idaho Power and its vendor have locked me out of bill pay for the next 12 months. What kind of a policy is this ? Customer service was unable to fix the problem and escalated the problem to the tier two group which was ineffective and did not help. No logic or wisdom here, just be real careful in dealing with such a monopoly that has no recourse or oversight . read more

After multiple power outages we attempted to contact Idaho Power via email asking for more information. They replied by giving us their customer service number. It's an automated system that never allowed us to speak to anyone at Idaho Power. These are managers who could care less about the customers they serve and it's sad to see this organization decline into the gutters. read more

I moved out of Whitewater Park Apartments on July 7th and on that day I logged into my Idaho Power account to end service. When I went to the end service tab I received a message saying that my account didn't have active service at this time (I have screenshots of this message). I assumed that the apartment complex had put the power back on them and I went along with my life. I just received a bill from Idaho Power and when I called they told me that I had not communicated that I wanted to end service and that there was nothing that they can do to help me. The problem is that THEY communicated to me that the service was ended by saying that there was no service set up on my account. They will not refund me the charges from July 7th and they plan on billing me for August 1-5th. I cannot believe that in this day and age a company like Idaho Power would treat people like this. read more

Their app and online portal are the absolute worst. When I call and type in my account number, it pulls it up, but it cannot find the exact same account number when I put it in online. It never sends a password reset email and most of the time the login info is correct but it just. Can't. Compute. They were quick to come and turn my parent's power back on, but that was after they shut it off one random day after not calling, emailing, or trying to make any kind of contact with them except sending a notice to the wrong mailbox. Currently typing this at 10:50pm because I remembered my payment was due, but I was never able to get into my account to set up auto pay, and now it can't find me in the stupid system by account number or my SSN or anything, so I guess I have to go call the customer service automated line to tell it the exact same info. Called in to resolve another issue with my deceased mother's account. Paid everything months ago, switched the address to my account. Zero balances showing, paying every month since April on new bills, no problem. I still have to call every month to update my address since bills are going to the old address... today I called in since I was notified of a collection notice for $200? Despite multiple phone calls and emails in the past 3 months to settle the account, no one mentioned this and the ass I got to speak with today thought it was appropriate to mock me repeatedly, talk over me and overall suck at being a human being. Moved my service from one address to another and updated my mailing address. Sent bills to old address and when I called telling them I wasn't receiving bills they told me I was incorrect as all notices were sent to the new address. One of the worst monopoly's I've had the displeasure of dealing with. By working with the local government Idaho Power was permitted to charge more per kWh. Their profit margin was higher then ever previously, but because of government mandated "Green" energy charges, they not only wanted to protect their profit margin but sought to increase it. Not only are they charging more per kWh then ever before, they also pass along the extra cost of the government mandated "Green" initiative down to their customers. Essentially it would seem they are double dipping. Making the people, who especially in Idaho, did not want this fake "Green" initiative that literally does nothing to help our planet. All in all Idaho Power has sought to price gouge their "customers" and got the stamp of approval from Idaho's government officials who approved their price increase on local residents. I would say it's about time the people of Idaho got together to hold our greedy officials responsible for doubling Idaho Powers profit margin in a time when the majority of residents are struggling financially from failed federal government action causing our current dysfunctional economy with inflation at insane highs. read more

We participated in the energy savings plan regarding our air conditioner, being told it could be reversed anytime. I couldn't get it house under 82 degrees yesterday until after 10:00 pm. There is no one to even contact until two days from now. Who knows how long it will take for them to come out here when I do talk to somebody? We have pets. Going to have to stay somewhere else till this is fixed. There is a box on my house that took my climate control away, and I'm not even allowed to tamper with it. The incompetent customer service person could only repeat the same blurb over and over without helping us solve the solution. Then when I challenged her to tell us something that could help instead of repeating the same simple sentence over and over that did not help solve the problem she hung up. The phone worker that called me had a serious attitude problem. I was told that my power was going to be cut off. Turns out, Idaho Power had created another account for me in August but I did not know that they did that. All of my payments were still going to the same account that I had been paying to for years through bill pay. When she investigated, she saw that I actually had a credit with the company. My thinking is - if you are gonna call someone, act like a B, demand money, threaten to cut their power in the winter and during holiday season, you better know that you are 100% correct. That should be the policy of Idaho Power, but, apparently, it's not. Website sucks. I have tried for months to reset my password, but it always says it's in the process and to check my email. There is never anything there. I get other emails from them so they obviously have the right email. When I talk to customer service they say "hmph, I have never heard of that" but don't help. So I pay via the phone, which is a very redundant process. Also they have the $2.00 "convenience" fee which you get charged. Just another way to make money I guess. read more

a couple years ago a driver for Idaho power expected me to run a red light like he was going to and rammed into the back of the car. Since then they tried to pay me 1000 and then 500.00. They were mean and nasty on the phone through the entire process. They said that even though he dislodged the bumper of the car I wasnt hit had enough to hurt my neck. I have had headaches ever since. The Xrays showed my spine reversed in the neck. I had ringing in the ears..so loud that it intertupts my thoughts and sleep. This driver admitted he was looking over his shoulder into the field and hit us at about 25 to 30 MPH while we stood still foot on the break. He admitted that he had been in about 16 accidents and said it was par for the course in that job. When the cop showed up he told the cop that I was going around the corner and just stopped. A complete lie. Im sure they wont let this post stay here. They are only giving me 7000 thats for my lawyer and VA medical bills..I will end up with less than 2000. Thank you Idaho Power read more
