Hardly anything was open, granted I visited when it was more towards off season, but there was nothing to do. Those pictures, I don't see the appeal. That long corridor that is lined with all the claw machines. Totally not the aesthetic I was hoping for. It's a great place to step off the boardwalk from, but a place that just isn't for everyone. When this venue was the Trump Taj Mahal, Mr Etess was returning by helicopter to Atlantic City. The helicopter suffered a mechanical failure, leading into a crash killing three executives. The Trump Taj Mahal arena was named in Etess' memory. 2025, this venue is now inside the Hard Rock Casino. There is a bridge from Resorts Casino connecting to Hard Rock Casino, we didn't have to walk the boardwalk at night in January. After we had dinner, we walked inside to the venue. Once inside and the band came on stage, everything seemed magical. The huge screen behind the stage were showing clips of the band starting from the 70's and then every decade up to today. The acoustics in the venue were also very good. They had the area filled with sound from all angles. Our seats had a nice vantage point. We were facing the stage, in the bleacher section. The floor seats seemed like you weren't able to see the band and video screens very well. If you need to come to the hotel to park and you're a *Veteran* get the players card for the hotel and you'll get free parking! When we saw Yacht Rock Review last summer at the theatre, the venue removed all the middle seats?! Those folks were rockin' for two straight hours! To me, I'm from Long Island and the Jones Beach Theatre is the best place to see a concert. The Mark G Etess Arena is a great venue to see any event while in Atlantic City.

I nearly passed out inside the venue. When I asked medical where the water fountain was they said the only free water is the hot water coming out of the bathroom sinks. As someone who goes to over 100 shows a year this is the only venue I've ever been to that didn't have a free water fountain. Greedy and extremely dangerous. Shame on Hardrock. I won't be back until they start to offer a free water option.

I have been to a few events through your sponsorship and always appreciated your consideration. You rock Stephanie. Now, I was 2.5 hours late for the noon time kickoff. Traffic was horrible. As I arrived to Bally's, $30 parking fee. Great; I am late and have to spend an arm and a leg on parking. What a start to this event. As I walked in to the event space, I was given a wine glass and life was good again. I was ready to taste wine. I had some great Champagnes right of the bat. They where refreshing with that crisp clean taste. Just right to start a wine tasting event. We then hit some Italian wines and they had that full body taste that I enjoy. I collected all the collateral from the vendors, but somewhere in my travels my souvenir bag went MIA. I just don't remember the vineyards and wine makers. Bummer. Highlight: there was a Bourbon table with Basil Hayden, Maker's Mark 46, Knob Creek and a few others I was not familiar with. I was in heaven. I think I tried them all. Outstanding. After this, I was done. I wish I had the time to taste more wines, but staff was serving 2 to 3 oz pours. Now, I don't know if this is good, but I did enjoyed this...lol... Overall, this was a well planned event. Plenty of room to move around. Air conditioning was working properly. Staff was friendly. Crowd was respectful. No long waits. Basic sample item and then slide down after taste. Tons of adult beverages with quality product. Many boutique wines. Lots of liquor tables. All around well organized event.

I expected more food than wine vendors, and was pleasantly surprised at the number of liquor and beer tables there. wine, tequila, champagne, whiskey, beer... and repeat. admittedly, I got tipsy. so did mom. but not as tipsy as the one guy who puked all over the place. or that one girl who knocked over a huge display. I consider this a success. a bunch of local and not-so-local foods were dished up, ranging from ceviche to pulled pork to lobster bisque, foie gras, chocolate fondue, peanut butter, chicken sausage, pork belly, anddd more. I was happy to see a few olive oil vendors as well... whoops, dropped mad dollars on olive oils. there were chefs doing live demos and tastings, too. it was nice to be able to ask the pros some questions. and we got a photo op with chef Robert Irvine (I always imagined him to be taller). um, I will definitely be back next year. I'd recommend doing an afternoon session... that way there's time afterward to play in AC for a bit, make a mandatory stop at pic-a-lilli, and sober up before heading home. that last part- it's important. or bring a DD (pregnant friends work well for this. justsayin).

I saw the Totally Tubular festival, which was a variety show of several 80s bands. (The original acts, not cover bands.) The venue is located inside the Ocean Casino Resort. Ovation Hall is medium sized--definitely not intimate, but also nothing like a true arena. Acoustics were pretty good, and there are giant TVs on each side of the stage to see closeups of the performers. Overall the show went smoothly, with only one or two minor technical glitches, which seemed pretty good for the first night of a showcase tour. A friend and I sat on the side of the venue and still had a clear view. I thought it was worth it for $50 tickets (per person). This was a winter show, so none of the summertime beach traffic. The casino was busy but not overwhelmingly so. It was pretty easy to find parking and locate the venue inside. (Also it's not very smoky inside.) There are drinks available in Ovation Hall itself as well as small snacks. You can get more substantial food outside in the casino. Overall, I had a good experience at Ovation Hall, and I'll keep it on my radar for future shows.

The only seafood left at lunchtime when we got there was fried shrimp and rice. There was a long line for drinks. We ended up going to other vendors and paying for better food. The general admission was $11 and I would have done that in a heartbeat and then paid for better food rather than doing the VIP thing. Completely overpriced and the food was not even close to what I expected. We also got tickets for the hot air balloon rides and were told they wouldn't be doing the rides that day due to the wind. We had to go find someone to get our $50 back. Overall a very disappointing experience and I would never go back.
