I do not recommend this business. I worked with Amir on choosing bathroom tile (floor and bathtub/wall tile). He only gave the total price rather than an itemized amount and I later found out this is because he charges 5% credit card fee as well as delivery fee to the store (not even to your house!). The delivery fee was initially $170 but after pushback was lowered to $100. AFTER running my credit card he stamps on the itemized bill "FINAL SALE NO CANCELLATION NO RETURN". He did not inform me of this prior to charging my credit card. 1-2 days later, he was unable to get the floor tile as it was discontinued. So he refunded that amount for the floor tile BUT he initially stated that the 5% credit card fee was not refundable even though he was the one unable to get the product. Also part of the shipping cost was not refunded (I was still getting the bathtub/wall tile from him at this point so I did not say anything). After explaining to him how ridiculous this business practice is, he tried to explain that he still has to pay the credit card fee even with a refund issued. After much pushback he refunded including the 5% credit card fee. A few days later my bathtub/wall tile arrived at Ideal Tile. When I picked up the tile, it was in boxes and unable to inspect it properly. We brought it home and when we took the tile out of the box, we found that it did not match the sample from the store. We brought a few tiles back to the store to show Ideal Tile that it did NOT match the sample tile. The sample of the white tile has black streaks throughout. The actual tile received is 90% plain white and no black streaks. When we attempted to return the tile (all 7 boxes in proper packaging), Ideal Tile stated the their supplier will not take the tile back and refused to refund the money. They only offered a store credit which we refused as they did not have any other tile that we liked. This was $1000 worth of tile that we are now unable to use and unable to return. We contacted the credit card company to get involved but Amir's response to the inquiry was not factual. Stay away from this tile store! Overpriced and does not stand behind what they deliver. I wish I read the reviews on this store before I purchased from there. So many other people have been victims to them as well. I can't see how they will remain in business much longer. read more

Although the quality and selection of tile is nice, the person who you deal with unfortunately is not so nice. Picked out beautiful tile for bathroom renovation. Relied on this person when he said he would take care of everything I needed. Was asked the dimensions of the area which were accurately relayed to him, not too difficult since it is a standard tub area. Fast forward to installation- we are over a box short of wall tile. I returned with the box and a tile. I was informed that he could have it the next day and he would "only" charge me $15 shipping. The following day I parked in his lot waiting for the delivery truck to arrive. I called and was told it would be there in approximately another hour so I waited. After an hour and a half I called again and he said the truck had just arrived - really?? I saw no truck as I had been sitting in front of his store for 2 hours! I advised him that I was in the parking lot and he said he would bring the box to me. I witnessed him taking the box out of his personal vehicle - he charged me $15 to ship it from his car to mine!!?? My contractor was at a standstill waiting for the tile so I rushed the precious cargo back home only to find that the tile was not the same. I have 4x16 tile - what I paid for and received today is 4 1/4 x16. I called the store to discuss and was told that if I wanted the same tile I had already it "would not be in until Tuesday". Didn't I ask for the same tile when I came in the previous day??? Why would I have asked for a different size tile? Had this person ordered the correct amount in the first place I would have never had to return to order more. The contractor was listening to this person tell me there was no difference between 4" and 4 1/4" - well I beg to differ as would any person who can measure or add. Not only has this person delayed me and cost me more money but also my contractor. Shame on you Ideal Tile, will never return or recommend. read more

I can't report on the actual materials or quality regarding the tile or installation, we did not end up using Ideal Tile. The owner was very nice and helpful while we were there in looking at tiles. However, I am just here to say that you should not use the Yelp Deal on this page. The owner will not accept it and you'll have to spend time contacting Yelp (which I could only do via email! couldn't find a phone number) to get your money back. It wasn't a big deal overall, it worked out, but just don't want anyone to waste their time with it if they planned to! read more

Stay away. If I could give zero stars I would. Nothing but problems for a bathroom remodel that took 6 months to complete. He is over priced and He cuts corners to squeeze every penny he can out of his projects and uses cheap materials. He mixes old and new sheetrock in place and didn't make sure everything was level. I have uneven tiles in my bathroom and he had to ripe out my floor because the heated floor he put in was cheap shit and stopped working before the bathroom was complete. It is amazing to see the quality and assortment of tile available from Amir at Ideal Tile. I have not seen anything else like it anywhere on Long Island. Amir has a great eye for quality products and a great sense of coordinating those styles. The large stores like Cancos seem limited and outdated in their offerings in comparisons. I have worked with Amir on several projects in my home. His technicians do a great job, but Amir is very generous with information and instructions for the do it yourself homeowner. On top of this; the prices at Ideal Tile are very reasonable and you will find a solution for every budget. We ordered from owner and got a great price for tile. He assured us the tile was top quality but when our very professional and qualified tile guy (who does not work for this company) saw the tile he said it was not as good of quality as we were promised. When my husband talked to the owner he said our tile guy had no clue what he was talking about. He was completely nasty! Unfortunately, I saw the tile once it was half laid down and didn't think it looked like what we had ordered but I saw the box and it seemed as if it was what we had ordered. Once tile was down and I did a side by side of the sample we ordered and our floor it was completely different therefore causing us huge issues trying to match our kitchen (as we had matched it to the sample). I understand tile can look different depending on the batch but this is a completely different tile all together. I have asked a few designer friends who all agree they aren't in the same family. Picture on the left is sample we ordered from and one on the right is what we got. Picture on the left has brown undertones and is warm and one on right has more gray (and even some green) undertones and is cooler. I have found Amir at Ideal Tile to be very helpful and willing to expedite things so you can get your job done in timely manner. I was redoing my kitchen and got the quartz counter top and tile from ideal tile, as well as re-sheet rocking behind old backsplash and installing both. The quartz counter top company was amazing. I have one seam by sink and you can't see it. Have to say, quartz is so much better then granite. You clean it and no streaks. Tiling was done very well, and when we cracked a tile installing new switch plates, tile installer came back and replaced tile and grouted. Would definitely use Ideal Tile again. read more

Good and bad. A good selection of tiles and some are beautiful. I got a nice porcelain floor tile (6" by 25") that was a 'special', so maybe there was a reason. At Ideal only full boxes of tile are sold unlike other stores; needed 30 but had to buy 35. Worst of all 3 of the tiles had broken corners. Tried to inspect upon receipt but couldn't during transfer from store truck...and no help was given. Also, final grout space between tiles was irregular partially because the tiles had a slight arc. Anyway, completed job was beautiful. read more

Despite the previous not so great reviews I can say they are very professional on what they sell and Install. I ordered tile for my kitchen and bath including Quartz countertop. One thing you should definitely have when you shop for tile anywhere, is patience because they rely on shipping and logistics of manufacturer, distributors and its outside their reach to expedite or even track orders. Don't rush because everyone will be late at least once on any order. Their new showroom is awesome with a great selection and location Will definitely do business again !!!! read more

I had the misfortune of doing (or attempting to do business,) with this business near the end of June 2013. I had ripped out my old tile and toilet bowl, and expressed the urgency of needing my new tile ASAP, and that I didn't really have much time to shop around... Big mistake!!!!! These guys are opportunists, and will fully take advantage of somebody at a point if desperation. I questioned some of the pricing, and was told "architect tile," or something along those lines. I paid for the tile in full, and was promised a much sooner delivery date than the two weeks, and a day it actually took. By that point I was so frustrated, and asked if they could charge me a fair price, in consideration of the missed deadline, but got nowhere.. They mentioned price matching if I found a better price, but that apparently doesn't apply once they have your money. I then opened a dispute with the credit card company, but the big stamp stating "no returns, no cancellations," posed a bit of a problem. I am currently exploring other avenues, but just so u know I purchased nearly all of the tile at Alita Tile in Bohemia for a grand total of $153 versus $635. Yeah I know how outrageous that is, and at this point I'm just trying to recover my money for tile that I no longer need... read more

He replied with of coarse. i purchased tile for kitchen back splash and 2 bathrooms. after trying to return tile he had all kind of excuses. Ask to see invoice prior to making a decision to doing business. Lots of small print. Must be returned in 20 days of invoice. took a week for delivery then i got a quote by the time my tile setter was done complete it was 29 days. If you are able to get it back in 20 days he will deduct 25 % if you get it at all. bottom line, very unprofessional i feel i was cheated. read more

We used ideal tile to remodel our kitchen and the job Amir did was fabulous. So naturally we returned when it was time to do the bathroom; Sadly we were let down completely. Amir sent someone else to do the job, but the guy did not prep the floor properly in spite of us having no toilet for 24 hours. Now, every time we walk on it, we can hear the grout cracking. Amir is fully aware of the issue and came ONE time to try different grout, which is a band aid, not a solution. When we tried to contact him again, he tried to disguise his voice! Something a 6 year old child would do! Now he either recognizes the number and doesn't answer or has the number blocked. This after only two calls to let him know we were not happy with the craftsmanship. Not what we expected after giving him a very handsome kitchen job. AVOID THIS GUY, AVOID THIS PLACE. It started off bad and got worse as the work went on. Workers pulled into only six week old sealed driveway with broken down van that they knew was leaking oil. Workers were very unprofessional and careless/sloppy with their work. Like bulls in a china shop. Thank god we did all crazy prep to protect our hardwood floors and furniture as they dropped tiles and tools carelessly. The one little part of the floor that was not covered got scratched on the first day. The main guy gave an attitude when asked questions regarding the mud job and when design of fireplace was questioned. The corner of the fireplace had to be corrected as it looked horrible in design. Should not have to tell the professional how to do the job correctly. And it still did not come out straight after the corrections. We noticed that the bottom of the fireplace corner overlaps the hearth by 3/4 of an inch. On top of that, we had a HUGE gap between the tiles and the firebox which we had discussed on the first day of the job that the tiles need to be tight as this is a major cause for fire!!!! If we had not checked the work inside the fireplace we could have had a fire in the house. When we called Amir we were told that we should have made sure it was done correctly. Since when does the customer have to oversee the job? A job that was supposed to take 4 days turned into 7-8 days to complete. They were scheduled to come make corrections, but did not show up in the morning and rescheduled for the afternoon, which was a no-show as well. The floor in the kitchen is not one hundred percent straight (some tiles stick up). But in order to fix that the floor would have to be ripped apart again, so we chose the lesser of the two evils. For the amount of money we paid, I expected excellent work, but we got poor workmanship and service. At the end of the work, nothing was cleaned up and we were stuck cleaning everything inside and out, as they dumped the mortar in any spot they felt like and dumped grout onto our grass. My husband and I just left Ideal Tile in Patchogue. We had placed a deposit on 310 square feet of porcelain tile on April 20th. The salesman, Amir, recommended that we get 310 square feet when we actually needed 280. He said they add on 10% for waste. He took a large deposit in order to hold that much tile which was in stock. He also promised us that we could return what we didn't get to use. We picked up the tile on May 9th and it was installed several weeks later. A few of the tiles had bubbles in them and Amir refunded the cost of those tiles. Now, our kitchen is complete and we had a full box plus a few tiles left. We decided to return the box. Amir changed the whole story. He said the tiles were on clearance when we bought them. He had NEVER told us that in April. He refused to take the box of tiles back. He said that he had none of those tiles left so he could not sell them. Had I known this, I would not have bought all that"waste". Pretty much everything he told us in order to make the sale was a lie. He went back on all the promises he made. He seemed like such a nice person when we went there to shop.
