In the beginning, I had to relearn simple things like how to sit down and get up properly, using the right muscles, and even learning to be aware and able to activate the muscles had been a huge challenge. The more I looked, the more I realized ... she's me!!! A daughter of mine knows Nyama (Jacobi) both professionally and personally and speaks highly of her in all regards. She suggested I might want to visit her new business, Silk Sky Spa, for skin care products that might rejuvenate my appearance. Really, what did I have to lose? Shortly thereafter, I made an appointment to consult with Nyama, expecting a one-and-done visit. As we were chatting about life in general and skin care products in specific, Nyama stopped, midstream in conversation, and presented an opportunity to me for a procedure she would be performing at Silk Sky Spa: Lumenis AcuPulse, and - might I be interested? The procedure would be invasive, penetrating my facial skin, rather than topically applying skin care product. So, why offer this to me ... and moments later, the "aha" realization. I was a perfect candidate to promote Lumenis AcuPulse due to all the (previously stated) imperfections I have on my face. I would be one person, having one procedure, showing its success with the "me before" and the "me after" photos of my appearance. I wasn't immediately on board. The procedure explanation from Nyama and photos she shared from others having had this procedure completed indicated the gravity of my decision. My currently aged skin would essentially be burned allowing new skin to replace the old, thus diminishing worry lines, crow's feet, aging spots and saggy skin. Eventually, I said, "Yes." I thought I had a fairly good understanding of what was to come. It was soon clear - not totally. The actual procedure was intense, an hour-plus, with a fair amount of discomfort and pain. I left Nyama's spa looking like a burn patient "on fire" and wondering what I had just gotten myself into! Intensive recovery lasted a couple of weeks, included staying out of the sun's rays for several days and keeping my face cleansed and hydrated multiple times a day. Day-by-day, I could see improvement. My face was smoother, wrinkles diminished, my skin coloration healthy looking. My husband would mention how youthful I looked - and I admit, I did! I didn't go through this healing process alone. Nyama was with me every step of the way. She offered her knowledge and support as needed.
