Channel 503 on Xfinity, Comcast, channel 699 High-Definition.
IFC really does have some very good, awesome movies and they don't edit their movies for content.
However, the old IFC is better, in that before they did not have commercials. Now they have commercials.
The deal is, I pay $150 a month for TV and Internet. I don't want to see commercials. Therefore, if a commercial gets through my filters before I can change the channel, I boycott that product for life. Seriously. Toyota, Honda, Kraft, Kia, all kinds of food and beverages made the list. I won't buy their products because they advertise them, interrupting my entertainment when I am trying to enjoy my meal. I pay for TV. I want NO commercials. I despise IFC for using them
What is more, the frequency of the commercials increases as the movie plays on, decreasing content time and increasing commercial time. At the beginning of a movie, they give you a generous 17 minutes of content before they break, then 300 seconds (five minutes) of commercials, then ten minutes of content, break, 320 seconds of commercials, and then with increasing frequency until during the last half hour they have fifteen minutes of movie content and fifteen minutes of commercials. Five minutes of content, break, 280 seconds of commericals, four minutes of movie content, break, 300 seconds of commercials, four more minutes of content, break.... I literally cannot stand it.
Therefore, I watch very little of IFC, and when I do, I have about ten nested channels that I skip to when they put a commercial on. You're right, I do have a lot of time on my hands, and yes, I hate commercials.
When you PAY to watch TV, the ads should go away, like they do with Music Choice and the movies on HBO, StarZ, Encore, Cinemax, etc. IFC betrayed us and went to commercials, thereby adding to the huge list I already have of products I will not buy because they advertise them.
The only exceptions are for milk, Coke, Wendy's and public service announcements. Otherwise, if you make the list, I won't buy your products or services simply because I pay for TV and you have the gumption to interrupt. read more
