Both areas are poorly installed and has caused 2 accidents. I called Jay the owner left a voicemail and text him for him or for a different crew to come out and fix it and he has not contacted me back. The only amount that was not paid to him was the money for not painting the inside of the storage unit which he said he would come to do and never showed up. My son cut his elbow on staples that were sticking up on the stairway and there were loose staples through out the carpet upstairs as well that kept sticking us in our feet! I had a carpet expert to come in to verify both the carpet in the playroom and the stairway carpet is very loose and not installed properly. I paid 3,000.00 for this job to be done plus the cost of the carpet!

We received a number of different estimates for the home renovations we wanted to have done. Brook…read moreInvestment Properties (BIP) gave us the lowest estimate around and also ensured us that the quality of the work would be top notch because their work is based solely on referrals. We decided to go with them. They started the work on May 6 and included a contract which said the work would be completed by June 20. It wasn't anywhere close to being completed by that date. Honestly, I don't mind having to extend deadlines because life happens and things we can't control cause us to have to push deadlines back sometimes. The main problem I have with BIP is the fact that they simply do not communicate well. Actually the first week or two that they were on the job the communication was going really well. Mike and Josh both have great personalities and are very enjoyable to talk to and get to know. But after a couple of weeks on the job, the work started to slow down (they'd show up mid day and work for 2-3 hours and then leave for the day sometimes; other days they wouldn't show up at all) and the communication dropped off almost entirely. I had several conversations with them about this throughout the process and asked them to please communicate with me (text, call, anything!) to let me know when they planned to be there and what they were going to be working on that day. My wife and kids stay home while I work so it's important for me to know who's going to be there when. The job was finally "finished" on July 18 but even since then we've noticed several things they left undone or did incorrectly. One of the biggest issues I have (even more than the failure to communicate) is that they had to go in my attic to run wires for a couple of the rooms they were building. My attic is used for storage and I had spent a lot of time organizing it so things were easy to find. When Josh had to go up there, he assured me that anything they had to move would be put back the way they found it. However, everything in my attic is jumbled and moved around now and I'm going to have to re-organize it myself. Again, this wouldn't even be an issue if he had simply been honest and said "Listen, I'm going to have to move things around up there and you'll have to re-organize it yourself later." At least then I'd have been prepared for it. But don't tell me you're going to put things back the way you found it if you're not actually going to. I even found a half-empty soda bottle that had been left in my attic. Pros: -very personable guys, friendly and jovial. Josh even gave 2 of my daughters birthday gifts since their birthdays occurred during the time of the project -when they are actually there doing work, they are working hard -they are very knowledgeable about all different kinds of work (electrical, plumbing, framing, HVAC, etc) -they were very active in the design of the space, which other contractors we spoke with refused to do -flexible to change plans even after the work had initially begun -they were the least expensive option around Cons: -extremely poor communication -didn't seem to prioritize the project -sometimes would show up and just sit in their vehicle in the driveway for extended periods of time without working -project took a month longer than quoted -personal property in attic not respected -tools left lying around after completion -little things not complete (drain pipe left dissassembled, wall outlet put in upside down) Overall, if price is your main concern and you're ok with the project taking longer you might find Brook Investment Properties satisfactory.

They didn't play any music while on the job. They picked up after themselves. Didn't hear any foul language whIle they were working. Once job was completed they left area clean and washed down the concrete that they laid. I am very pleased with the worry they did and would highly recommend without hesitation. They may cost a little more than others but it's well worth it.

KC Nummy, the owner, is a swindler, and a dishonest man who does not follow through with what he agrees on. We had a concrete pad laid for a 30x35 metal building, and he was very professional at start, sent an estimate, and gave the plan that we both agreed upon. The project carried on for over a month with no calls to update or timeline given. I had to call to get updates, and when I did, I was met with fluff, BS. Things were never completed when they said they would be done, and when it came time for the concrete to finally be poured, we were left with a flaky, dusty floor after 2 days of patch-up work that I can burrow mu finger in just by pressing firmly. It looks horrible, and to top it off, the job was left undone. KC Nummy called to say he was in a bind and needed to get his money for what they had already done. He said the concrete looks bad on top but it is still structurally sound, and went on to say the driveway and ramps for the pad would not get completed. He asked for a check to be placed on the porch, and he would swing by and get it, no need to call him back. This has been a horrible experience, and now we are left to find and "trust" someone new to finish the job and look at fixing what he screwed up. I would not waste your time or money on KC Nummy doing no more than sweet-talking and swindling your money.

They removed four very large trees that were leaning in various directions, one mid-sized oak leaning at 45 degrees, two very tall pines 80 feet and 100+ and the oldest magnolia tree that any of them had ever seen (trunk was completely hollow and almost five feet in diameter). They worked safely but quickly and when they were done, there wasn't so much as a dead leaf laying in my yard. They worked around three small trees without damaging them and went above and beyond. They did all of this at a very reasonable price. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone.

However, it stopped working shortly after installation. I contacted Mr. Gipson again, and he had the gate opener replaced with another one without a cover. The original gate opener had a cover. It was not until 2 weeks ago when I had to try several times to open the gate with my remote that I began having problems. However it eventually opened, and I had no further problems with the gate opening until 2 weeks later when again I could not open the gate for approximately 45 minutes. I then left the gate open in order to get my car in and out. When I called Mr. Gipson on Tuesday, June 16th, he stated he would send his son out to check it. Later that day after I did not hear from his son nor Mr. Gipson, I again called Mr. Gipson to ask if his son had come out. Mr. Gipson stated his son had come out and determined I needed another motor, and he stated his son had gone to Walmart to get one. I never saw or heard from his son. The next day I called Mr. Gipson with no response. However, I left him a message that I had not seen or heard from his son. On Friday, the 19th, I called Mr. Gipson again with no response. Each time I called, I left my name and phone number for Mr. Gipson to return my call with no response. I never saw or heard from the son or Mr. Gipson after that last phone call on June 19th, and my motor has not been changed. Each time I tried contacting Mr. Gipson, I got his voicemail and left him a message advising I had not seen his son, and my gate was still not working. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

We contacted Charles when we lived in Florida about a house we were buying and we needed a fence…read more Our fence had to be tall enough for a Husky/pit mix to not jump. My husband met with him and told him we needed it to be started the day we closed on our house. He was 2 weeks late starting. A 50% deposit was given atleast 2 weeks prior to us closing on our house. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. On top of our text messages and phone calls. It took him about 3 weeks to do a roughly 2 to 3 day job. Charles also charged us an additional fee because he didnt order enough material. It turned out great until the boards started popping off. He came out once to fix our gate because it broke the first time we tried to open it. Since then, we have made several texts messages and phone calls asking him to come fix the popped off boards. He kept saying he would be here and to this day has not shown up. My husband even called him and Charles said he would be by at 9am Sunday and guess what...he never showed up today. No phone no text message. So here we are with a fence with popped off boards. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM WHAT SO EVER!
