Anything less than a 5 star review for Ignite just makes no sense & is frankly uneducated. I challenge anyone to find a better Skilled Nursing Facility anywhere. Friends and family in the healthcare industry have been blown away by the level of care our father received & we will be forever touched by the heartfelt, sincere staff at every level. We cried happy tears here so many times due to the kindness and "extra mile" by so many different staff members. they don't even deserve 1 star! Ignite Medical Resort is a group of the most calloused, not caring individuals I have ever met. They should not be working with the public. I question their credentialing. No one there seems skilled and yet they call themselves skilled nursing. They are rough in handling patients, especially very fragile ones. The RN's care more about inputting data on their computers while looking at their phones instead of offering personal touch and engagement with their patients. There is ALWAYS an excuse as to why results are not given, labs aren't drawn, and assistance is nowhere to be found! They deliberately ignore the call light and if you call it to their attention, they get pissed off at you and your family and will not attend to any critical needs or concerns. They do not know how to assess the needs of their patients. Each person that comes in is handled in the same manner; whether you have just lost your legs and can't walk or whether you got a paper cut. It doesn't matter. No one matters to the staff. They pretend to care but at the end of the day, they don't. Your family member is WAY BETTER OFF going home to rehab in the comfort of the home. My mother was there for broken hip rehab, developed a very contagious stomach infection (out of the blue), became severely dehydrated after 4 days of uncontrollable diarrhea and neglect to treat properly. I removed her from that place and took her to the ER where we were told that she was in renal failure and extremely ill. Three days later, she passed away. What an utter shock to me and my family to bury my beautiful mother this past week. I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

My mother was admitted to this facility after a lengthy hospital stay room was not cleaned, restroom disgusting toilet did flush have to pot water from the sink and take the top off to flush it. had to bring my own cleaning supplies to sweep and mop her room, the Night staff Aide was sleep by the nursing station in a dark stop where you couldn't see him, the nurses saw him never mentioned anything to him. The daytime Nurse was mouthy and once I spoke up for my mom and how she was feeling she said no she wasn't and that my mom didn't say that. they dropped my mom (while assisting her up- non bearing weight) on the floor and told her to keep it between the CNA and Nurse I called the Nursing Director, Office Coordinator to state all my concerns NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK, if you have someone that needs this place I don't recommend read more

My father-in-law was admitted directly from the hospital late on a Friday. He was placed in a room that wasn't prepared and was far from the nurses' station. He couldn't walk on his own and needed the restroom; after pressing the call button, no one responded for over 10 minutes. I had to go find help, and a nursing assistant eventually came. When I spoke with Barbara, the Patient Experience Manager, she said 10 minutes was standard and that by law they have up to two hours to respond to a call button. That was unbelievable to hear. He was later moved to a room that was actually ready, but he sat there all day with almost no staff interaction--aside from food trays being dropped off and picked up. He is 82 with multiple medical issues, yet his PT didn't start for several days and no one checked on him. Thankfully, my niece visited; he had an accident, and she helped clean him and change his clothes. Otherwise, he was left wearing the same clothes for days because he couldn't change them himself. This facility is advertised as skilled nursing and rehabilitation, but I saw neither. Leaving an 82-year-old alone all day without routine checks is unacceptable. For the most part, staff were rude and acted like he was a burden. If you want rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and a caring, attentive team, look elsewhere. read more

This facility needs to be reported. To my understanding a patients family member is supposed to disconnect there family member from a dialysis machine. Family member is suppose to reposition, change and feed the patient. The nurse thats on duty when asked what's the protocol for this facility she stated I cant give you information your name not on the list. When asked what's the CEO number she stated we don't have one. What type of facility is this. I guess I better go higher up, because this facility needs to be reported. This is illegal. In-Center Protocols: In-center, only trained staff should handle the machines, though emergency, last-resort procedures for self-disconnection. What is the job of the RN And CNA there? If I could give this place zero I would.Do not send your loved one to this location! It looks nice when you enter but it is deceiving.My mom was there after a hip and elbow fracture . If she wouldn't have had family with her to advocate for her, it would have been a disaster! It took over 3 hrs for a nurse to even do an intake for her and that was after my chasing people down. We had to go get her own medicine from her apartment. She was never entered in the system for meals but after telling them she was on low sodium diabetic diet the continually brought her food she can't eat. They left her tray with water across the room and she couldn't get an overnight person to help her get water. We found her covered in throw up and in the wrong position ( she isn't mobile yet). We had to beg someone to come give her a bedpan because 'it was there shift change' and they couldn't be bothered. We called 911 to get her out of there and although she left hospital with no infection ended up back there with one. I will be reporting this place to medicare. Stay clear, seriously. read more

Care quality. The PT is wonderful but there was only two nurses that knew their craft or cared. The rest of the staff should be fired and replaced with dedicated personnel. Danette needs to get a job at a fast food restaurant. Her personalty fits that profession better. read more

UPDATE: If your are wondering where all the five-start reviews are coming from, look no further than the staff. Taylor Stamp, who happens to be the General Manager of the facility, wrote a glowing review only a month ago detailing the quality care that his 'loved one' received. I've attached a photo of his business card and screenshot of his 'review' below for reference. What an incredible display of blatant deception! If you value your loved one's health, steer clear of Ignite. Therapists are good, but the level of care provided (or rather not provided) by the nursing staff is truly astounding. Patients left sitting in the halls, lined up against the wall, for up to half an hour after receiving dialysis treatments - left completely unattended. A couple of nurses/techs were good but most clearly do not give a damn about the patients for whom they are expected to care. One patient was loudly crying out in pain from her room and the staff in the hall were laughing at her and took their time answering her cries for help. The head of nursing was standing out in the hall complaining about all the nurses who routinely don't show up for work (because she is stuck covering their shifts). Another nurse was complaining about Ignite not feeding them free meals for special occasions and holidays. The Ignite staff and Dialyze Direct (who independently operate the in-house dialysis den) have zero communication between them, resulting in confusion, misinformation, and even misdiagnoses by the doctor and NP overseeing everyone's care (another family member shared this same experience with me one day while I was there). I saw several new hires showing up for orientation regularly in the mornings, which is never a good sign. The last day my loved on was there, the staff said they were doing fine and there was nothing wrong with them - even though something was clearly off. Sadly, the septic shock they are currently fighting at a local ER tells a vastly different story. The State of Texas has been notified - and you have been warned. read more

They don't answer call lights, do not leave your loved one here and expect them to be taken care of. We literally had to stay with my mom and take care of her 24/7. It ALWAYS took over a hour for anyone to come to the room if they ever came. I am a RN myself and in my absence they were giving my Mom stool softeners and Miralax while she was having diarrhea for 3 days!!! My husband had to take her to the bathroom everytime and clean her up because they do not answer call lights, he slept on the floor on a pad. Elder abuse and neglect !!!!! Now they are kicking him out saying the pad on the floor is a fire hazard!!!! They are a hazard to patients!!!!! read more

Nice and clean facility, and hospitality is excellent. I would recommend Ignite to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved one.

This place is a joke. Looks great on outside to inside but as far as ALL nurses, therapists, doctors, even down to the "chef" they brag about is a complete falsification. They don't do anything but talk about residents in their fancy conference room, but other than that they leave residents in their rooms all day and night with only coming in to drop off nasty meals. My loved one was only showered one time the whole month there. Also, got a bedsores from never being changed and cared for. When setting up to have physical therapy they will put to have it for x4 days, but in all actuality they only did it 1day a week. Never seen more lazy employees in my life. If you care and love your love one DO NOT go to this rehab place. They even give out folders of all their newly high tech equipment, but they don't use it and it is only for looks. If you need any EOB's Or business done you can forget that too. Been since March and still waiting for the paperwork!!! read more

My father went to Ignite Medical Resort after being in the hospital for rehab on Sept. 25th, 2024. The care and physical therapy at Ignite is horrible. He was admitted on a Wednesday and did not start physical therapy until Monday. We were told he would have therapy twice a day Monday-Friday. He did not have therapy that Thursday or Friday. When we checked him out of Ignite, he was still not able to take just a few steps with his walker. My husband and I was there visiting for several hours and not once did anyone come check on him. My sister was with him one day and pushed the call button and after waiting over 45 minutes, she finally had to go find someone to come help with changing his clothes. Everytime we were there the staff was on their phones and we always had to go find someone to help us. You could tell they were not happy we were there checking on my father. I called twice and left a message with the general manager and never received a call back. Please check out all of the reviews, not just the ones on their website. read more

I am ashamed to admit my mother spent five weeks at Ignite. They claim it is a luxury environment with "rapid rehabilitation." No and no. Pros: - The food was good and there was plenty of it. - Some of the nurses and aides were positive. - Big windows that would open. - Her room door would close. - A housekeeper swept nearly every day. - They did her laundry (losing a shirt, though). Cons: - Very little therapy, and that at irregular hours and days. Say 15 minutes every day or two. This doesn't count as "rapid rehabilitation." - My mother had an appointment at 10 at a doctor's office. They said they would provide a ride. It was supposed to get there at 9:15. It showed up at 10:15. Obviously we missed this appointment and couldn't get another until January - so we had to find another doctor and even so her new appointment is 3 weeks after the original one, for what could be a serious condition. - Waiting forever to get a nurse or aide to bring a pain pill or help with the bathroom. - No answer to call button. - Irregular times for medications. Varied by hours. Meds at 6 pm or 10 pm for instance. - The toilet was out of order for a couple of weeks. You had to reach into the tank and mess with the mechanism to make it fill so it would flush. Finally somebody from maintenance came and put in new parts. - When we needed new paper towels they just dumped a stack by the lavatory. - No soap ever in the dispenser despite requests. We brought a bar of Ivory from home. - No wastebasket in the bathroom. Used paper towels went in a bedpan on the floor. - Ice for water was in a big ice chest in the hall like you might take on a picnic, with a single scoop which was not always there. This seems unsanitary to me. - Isolation, isolation, isolation. Nobody ever checked on her that I could detect. Without her family being there she would have simply dissolved psychologically. - I went down to the nurses's station to see if I could round up an aide for something Mom needed and heard somebody say "Here she comes again." Yes, I went down there a lot because the call button was unanswered. - She was scheduled for a shower three times a week. I don't think she got even one. - Noise from the other patients' rooms (loud TV). - Spilled juice didn't get cleaned up till the next day so the floor was just sticky until then. - The meals came at irregular intervals. 11 am or 1 pm for lunch, or 4:30 pm (!) or 6:30 pm for supper. You never knew. - Never could get a medications list from the nurses. Notes: - The lobby and dining room are beautiful. Nobody EVER uses them. They are as empty as a deserted airport. - Dirty carpet and scuffed walls. - No human interaction besides bringing meals, the occasional therapy, picking up her tray. She would have been isolated in her room if we hadn't been there every day. read more

My sister was here to recover after having a total knee replacement. She developed IAD (rash from sitting in urine/fecal matter) because they would allow her to sit soaked brief for hours. I am an Administrator at a local Senior Living facility and this is something we would self-report. Knowing that she had open wounds on her bottom, they moved her from the wheelchair to the bed by lifting her by her pants vs. using a gait belt for her safety and theirs. I discussed this with the Administrator (April), and nothing was done. They (Tonia-Social Worker) gave us a day's notice that my sister would have to move out of the facility. They had made no accommodation for the wheelchair/hospital bed to be delivered to the house. She is missing clothing, orthopedic shoes, and other items they could not account for. The wounds on her bottom are so bad that she cannot sit long. When they would come in and provide the service of cleaning her up, they would wipe so hard that the wound would open up again. I had to file a complaint with HHS due to the neglect. If my sister pushed her call light, they would come in and cut it off. Tell her that they would return, but never would. They did this to show they responded. I would not recommend that anyone bring their loved one here. Please don't send your loved ones here. The communication from staff was non-existent. Food was terrible, no choices. One meal was a piece of overcooked pork, cold mashed potatoes, a piece of bread and bag of potato chips. Responsiveness took hours for simple requests. No drinking water. Father was brought in late at night from hospital and put in his room by the transportation driver. No one greeted him. I called the nurses station for days and no one would pick up. Animals are treated better at a kennel. The previous management group was better than Ignite as this was a second stay. This falls on Ignite Management. read more

Where do I start? My grandmother's experience at the facility was terrible. She came out in worse shape than when she went in. Housekeeping seldom came (the floor was always nasty). Transportation to and from dialysis was horrible. She would have to wait on the vehicle anywhere between 1-2 hours after her dialysis treatment. One day the driver shoved her wheelchair into the van. Straight after dialysis, physical therapy would come before she could barely get inside the door. If you know anything about dialysis then you know it drains you and you're extremely tired after. Physical therapy did not work on her legs and her walking until the last week or two of her being in the facility. The purpose of my granny going in was for her to gain strength in her lower body and to start back walking. Unfortunately, there was no progress made. The staff was rude and pretty lazy. They do not respond to the call button for the nurses. They never rotated her which led to several bed sores. She was there for 2 months and they never gave her a proper bath, only sponge baths. Also, there were some days she was served cold meals or they forgot her meal altogether. My cousin (her nephew and caregiver) went to the facility and checked on my grandma almost every day, eventually, they tried to ban him from the facility. I had my mom there after a fractured leg. No help from staff, RN/nurse did not give her her blood thinner medication for 4 day when i was ordered on day one. I was told it was documented but later the nurse admitted finally she had not done it. No staff my family had to spend 24 hrs a day there taking care of my mom as staff never came in to assist with tolieting. I was told she would get 3 hrs a day of rehab only received 30 minutes. When i said i was tak8ng her out after 1 week i was threatened with AMA and made to stay 4 mire days before i juat took her. Terrible Social worker, director or rehab and director of nursing!! When this facility was Broadmore, it was very good. However, care is now terrible! My husband was there 8 days and never received a shower or bed bath. As in a another review, physical therapy was terrible! After 8 days I removed him from this facility. Do not let "resort " deceive you. The building is very nice, the care is not!! A friend said that the current cook is heavy handed with the salt. There are several seniors at the center who do not need and/or want salty food but they don't speak up as don't want to 'cause problems'. I had thought it was common knowledge that salt must be used sparingly, especially with those who have health issues. Many at this 'resort' have such issues and too much salt can severely compromise their wellbeing. This seeming lack of concern on such a simple thing to correct leaves one wondering what else is not being reported due to not wanting to cause a problem. Open conversation between staff and clients is a must. Why is that not a reality? read more
