So when it came to us looking for a new house (new to us), we needed to find a realtor to buy and then sell our current home. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to use our previous realtor. So, on the hunt we went for an honest, reliable, realtor, with a go getum attitude. We reached out to some good friends of ours that had recently bought and sold their house, and they turned us on to Candice Oh. Again, I was still a little stand offish, expecting the worst, and here walks in this little spunky lady, like she just drank a pot of coffee, with that go getum attitude, that she could conquer the world attitude . That changed my whole perspective, and gave me hope. Without making this a novel, I can honestly say. We started our journey in late October, and closed on both the new house and our house the beginning of January. Candice and her team went above and beyond, in every aspect of our journey. In this journey, my wife took the reins, and handled everything from providing the paper/documents, to setting up the appointments to see the house we were looking at, as well as the viewing of our house. If I was to tell you it was a perfect transaction on both ends I would be lying. However, it was smooth all the way around, and any road bumps we experienced, Candice made sure to express, that she would make that road as smooth as possible, and we wouldn't experience any discomfort along the way. My wife would agree with me, because she is a lot harder to please than me, and tends to get stressed out very easily, at the littlest of things. She would tell me every day, how pleased she was with Candice Oh, and her team. One more thing, without going into detail. There was one incident, that we needed to have someone go to our house for Xcell to get into the backyard, and neither of us were at the house. Candice was able to go to our house, put our two 90 pound dogs in the garage (without getting eaten alive), and let the Xcell guy in the back yard to look at the electrical box. She was able to do this with only five minutes notice. If you are looking for a realtor to give you that 120% effort, Candice Oh, is your woman. A lot of people will say they will go that extra mile, but will they actually do it. In this crazy housing market that we are in, you have a lot of realtors that are just in it to make a quick buck. Candice Oh is not like that, she enjoys what she does, and wants to make your dreams come true. Candice may be little, and wired on caffeine, some if not most of the time. Unfortunately, that was not what I received. Throughout the process, it became clear that the agent I worked with had very limited knowledge of the properties being recommended. Basic questions regarding building features, management quality, neighborhood differences, lease terms, and unit availability often went unanswered or were met with vague responses. Rather than acting as a knowledgeable advisor, the experience felt more like a sales transaction focused on getting me to sign a lease as quickly as possible. What concerned me most was the apparent lack of interest in understanding my actual needs and priorities. Instead of providing thoughtful recommendations based on my criteria, I felt repeatedly pushed toward specific units without any meaningful explanation as to why they were a good fit. The entire process gave the impression that the primary objective was securing a commission rather than helping a client make an informed housing decision. As a result, I ended up conducting most of my own research, contacting properties directly, verifying information independently, and learning far more on my own than through the service I was supposedly receiving. This completely defeated the purpose of working with an apartment locator in the first place. A service like this should provide expertise, local market knowledge, transparency, and value. In my experience, Smart City Locators failed to deliver on all of those expectations. Rather than simplifying my apartment search, they added frustration, confusion, and unnecessary delays.
