I went here on a Sunday night 45 minutes before they close. It's the night before my 21st birthday and got cupcake pancakes with my boyfriend. Carole was our waitress and she was very attentive and understanding to my many requests. The pancakes came out without whipped cream, sprinkles, and cupcake sauce, and she walked by and despite carrying a load of dishes and noticed before I even said anything. Top tier service from her, please give her a raise or something. The ambiance was like all ihops and the music was really mellow and nostalgic, it felt like when I would go for my birthday when I was younger. My daughter and I came here on Sunday morning...the floors were sticky, several tables were sitting with dirty dishes on them.....not a good start. The restaurant was only 15% full - yet our order took over 20 minutes..and was wrong....the food was marginal. The staff was very nice..and trying to make the best of a bad situation. IHOP is a fine national chain but dependent on local franchisees operating to a set standard. - this one failed. The town and the people who are trying to work there deserve much better ownership/management....if the current operator is not going to look in the mirror and fix things. time for someone else try. Absolutely the poorest customer service , only customer (door dasher)in the entire place ! All employees standing outside vaping laughing. No one in kitchen preparing the customers meal through door dash had to ask multiple times for progress of order! Had to let customer know that food was not even being prepared! Honestly this location has really bad service. The servers/ hostess don't greet at the door. They're so weeded they don't know how to attend to there tables in order. The food comes out cold and the food comes out raw. The drinks take forever to come out. Then another night we went literally stood at the host stand for 10 min and no one came out to us. We waited about 49 minutes for food for 2 adults and 2 kids even though there were only about 6 tables of people there. Scrambled eggs were rubbery and cold. Sausage cold. Pancakes ok. Servers had no time to get refills on drinks. Restaurant very outdated. Had to find someone to pay our bill and to get a box . This is in no way me attacking the employees. I know restaurant service jobs are difficult. However, the wait time was forever long. There were 2 of us. We were told it wouldn't be very long, but we ended up waiting 30-45 mins. After we finally got our food, we were disappointed. My breakfast plate was pathetic and sad looking - definitely not work the $12. My best friend got the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was rock hard and it tasted burnt. After catching word that IHOP has a gluten free menu I first tried to go here for Sunday brunch but the wait was over an hour. A month or so later I tried again for breakfast for dinner and had no issue getting a table. Okay #1 don't go here expecting fine dining, because it's just not, but you're also not paying for fine dining. Our server Frankie was personable and attentive and informed us of "Hoppier Hour" which is their dinner special. They had appetizers for $4 and meals for $6, that's a deal I can get behind! I ordered their gluten free pancakes (short stack) with a side of bacon, they were alright but I appreciate that they offer GF options. For 2 of us our bill was around $22 with an appetizer and drink. I was expecting mediocre food and service but was pleasantly surprised. read more

Ordered breakfast there today. First time ever at this restaurant. Was seated and ordered coffee. Coffee arrived lukewarm. Our order was taken, and we waited. Waited for 35 minutes before we received our food. The forks we had were dirty, asked another waitress for new ones. The food had been sitting on the counter for a few minutes; I had a view of the kitchen. The eggs and sausage were cold as well as the pancakes. The waitress finally came and gave us our bill did ask how things were. I said not great, she left the bill on the table and walked away. She never asked why we weren't happy. Went to IHOP using gift cards from our last visit about 8 months ago which was a disaster. We were seated right away on arrival at 1:07 pm and drink orders taken. Waitress Was very prompt in getting our order. We both ordered a sandwich, one with fries and one with a side salad. After about 30 minutes I asked about our order and waitress apologized and said it would be out soon. She never returned until I sought her out after we had been there for one hour and 12 minutes. Told her we wanted our gift cards back and we were leaving. She said she would get them from the manager who never came out to speak to us. We left at 2:19. Seemed to be plenty of staff on duty and either 2 or 3 cooks in the kitchen. Restaurant was about 1/4 to 1/3 full. Very clean this time. After deciding that Cracker Barrel was going to be much too long of a wait, my family and I thought maybe we would give IHOP another shot. Perhaps they had changed management and the service and the food would be better this time. Driving up the road that circles Uptown mall, nervous because I was already anticipating what was already normalized at this IHOP: bad service and cold food, I spotted the restaurant. Just as I had suspected, there were only three cars in the parking lot. AT 11:00 a.m. ON MOTHER'S DAY! We pulled in anyway thinking that we shouldn't judge IHOP based solely on a near empty parking lot. Then, I SAW IT! Black mold was growing on the facade of the building just above the front door. I never slowed down, I just kept going. No thanks! Those were enough red flags for me; I didn't need to step inside to further solidify my intuition that this was going to be another IHOP disaster. I understand they work so hard but yesterday me and my girlfriend got sat down at IHOP and literally had to wait 30 minutes before they even asked us for anything to drink and the waitress walked up and said "have y'all been served yet?" After walking by at least five times and we were set in her area. We ordered water and a black coffee, but it took forever to come. The water came in paper cups. After ordering a couple sat down next to us, got their drinks and their food and left and paid before we got our food. We were there for an hour, patient and just got up and left, I left 20 bucks on the table. I hope nobody ever has to deal with the service ever again. It was atrocious. read more

I have been here before when the service was horrible and food was cold and not properly cooked and I swore I wouldn't go back there... Of course today, my dad came to town and guess what he wanted, IHOP. I was shocked! Got seated fairly quickly even with there being a few other customers that came at the same time. Service was actually not bad except they forgot to bring my son's pancakes so it took an extra 5, maybe 10 minutes for him to get that but he got the rest of his combo so it wasn't a great deal. The thing I was most surprised about was the quality of the food! It was actually good! My dad's omelet was cooked right, and he said it was his normal in Raleigh and it was better here. I got the chicken and waffles with a strawberry cheesecake waffle and the waffle was sweet and cooked perfect, I was a fan of the creamy white sauce on it and the strawberry syrup stuff was yummy, but did make the waffle soggy after a lil. I would have liked it better on the side. It is definitely something I would get again. The chicken tenders were actually not burnt, like the last time I ordered them and were definitely hot and fresh. It took a few minutes to get our bill paid because the waitress and trainee seemed to be very busy, but all in all, I think I was definitely glad I came back and gave it another chance. read more

First things first the service for an IHOP was incredible. The waitress was extra patient and friendly. I wish I could remember her name but she was an older lady. The vibe in the restaurant was upbeat and friendly. My girlfriend and I ended up spending a whopping 55 dollars at IHOP!!!!! I got this chicken sandwich with an eggs and bacon on top. Absolutely incredible sandwich and it hit the spot for that chicken sandwich craving. The fries were absolutely terrible though. Probably some of the worst fries I've ever had. They were cold, bland, and had zero crunch. Very disappointed in them. The app sampler was decent. The onion rings were the best part of this entire meal in my opinion. The mozzarella sticks served a good change up throughout the meal as well. They weren't anything special but played its role as your typical mozzarella stick. The chicken tenders were terrible ass well. Very disappointing considering the chicken sandwich was so good. I also think the sampler should have came with more considering the price of it. My girlfriend got the blueberry pancakes and she destroyed those. Those were pretty good but blueberry isn't my go to flavor personally. Her breakfast potatoes were pretty good as well. The bacon was mediocre and the eggs were not special either. They also got cold very fast. Overall, it's your typical IHOP. I totally understand that in our current economy lots of businesses are experiencing resource issues. However, when you get seated in a restaurant you typically expect to be served before people who come in 30minutes after you. Our party of 4 was seated and placed our order 5 more table who were seated after us, served by another waitress, got their food before us and left before we got our food. Our server was apologizing that they are down a cook but it just not explain how so many tables got food before us. We did not order anything more complicated than the others tables. At one of the other table a guy even sent back an incorrectly prepared omelet and still got it before we got our food. We felt like we should not have had to pay for this food but there was no manager available to complain to and not worth our time. Worst service ever!!!! read more

My husband and grandson came in for breakfast and when he went to pay the bill he didn't put a tip on it. (He usually does, just forgot) On Monday we received a notice from our Credit Card Company asking if we gave a 32% tip? He went to the restaurant to question the bill and was told they were busy and would have to look into it later. Never received a call, so I complained to their national headquarters. Surprise! I get the overall 2 star of this location. It has been a frequent stop for us when in town for swim meets but has never elevated above a 3 and more falls below par. On a mid weekday morning today it was much busier than anticipated, but not slammed. Parking lot and sidewalks were clear of debris. The hostess was not on station when walking in and neither was the cashier. I assume they were being pulled out due to staffing issues. The dining room was clean from what I could see and witnessed no tables uncleared and or debris on the floor. We were seated with menus and waited longer than anticipated for a server. Once she arrived she was very friendly to our group of swimmers and was willing to split up checks. Our party was ready to order and did so. Drinks were brought out timely for kids, but no coffee for adults. Possibly 10 min later after already waiting 10 min for server coffee brought out and was fresh. Only issue was it only had enough for two cups. The food took 25 min, longer than anticipated for a group of 6. First plate incorrect, taken back. Then other plates brought out and some still incorrect with extra bacon the waitress swears was ordered and no chocolate chips on another. One order had one less pancake. Bacon taken off bill and pancake shorted brought out 10 min later. Although server nice she appeared stretched out and unable to provide a higher level service Bill brought out in timely fashion and accurate. When getting up I noticed one area of the carpet was saturated with syrup, so much so I could hardly get my foot to rise. I alerted our waitress who did not seem surprised. Checkout again had no one there, but soon after a woman did arrive. No issues and she did ask how everything was...I did not have the time to go into the multiple problems. Very poor service at this location. Waited over 20 minutes for food and wasn't given utensils or syrup for another 5 minutes once food was delivered. There was only one server for the entire restaurant and I know they are trying their best but it's here to excuse how bad the service here is even with this.
