The reason it's not 1 star is because of the exceptional service provided by Kurt. The complaint is for the kitchen, not only was the wait time for the food almost an hour, in a limited capacity restaurant, but the pancakes were horrible in quality. This is supposed to be IHOP, "known for its pancakes". My girlfriend's pancakes were sent back because a mistake made by the kitchen so I know for a fact that her pancakes were fresh. Being that they were freshly made, they were hard on the sides, dry inside, and lacking flavor. The restaurant provides a butter knife, fork, and spoon. Should have provided a steak knife for the pancakes. This is the first and last time I dine at the IHOP in Laredo, TX. read more

Worst IHOP I have ever been to. My family and I were treated like second class citizens. Was literally able to watch half an episode of A Netflix show while seeing literally half the the staff stand around and talk instead of asking us for drinks. This led to the coffee pot sliding off tablet and hitting my eldery mother on her foot. The manager was called and he said meal is on the house. Tonight I got the Mexican Churro Pancake & the Split Decision Breakfast. It comes with two eggs, two crispy strips of hickory-smoked bacon, two pork sausage links, two french toast triangles and two buttermilk pancakes. Starting with the bacon it was the saddest little strips and was dripping with grease as were the sausage links. The eggs I had done over easy but it was also floating in a very noticeable grease puddle. The French toast was nice, could have definitely been much more courteous with that powdered sugar though. Both the buttermilk and Mexican churro pancakes were great though. Definitely made up for the pool of grease which really showed a lack of effort on the chefs part. The waitress appointed to me was extremely slow and inattentive. Wasn't the worst experience but I've seen them not slack as hard either. However the pancakes slapped which made up for it. read more

You would think that this would be a one star review since the server completely messed up my order but the service was great! (Which is difficult to find in Laredo) When I let the server know that one part of my meal was wrong he quickly fixed it and let the manager know. Then I noticed the second part of my meal was wrong also. The server apologized and quickly took it back to the kitchen. The manager ended up bringing out my correct order and apologized. The way the server and manager handled this mess up really impressed me and saved our experience. Not to mention the manager discounted our bill to make up for the mistakes. Filthy with roaches! Barley acknowledged by hostess upon checking in, not given silverware, and provided menus that looked like they had never been wiped down. The table we were brought to was still dirty (everything sticky, seats covered in food and empty bottles out). The store was not busy, yet we waited a long time to place drink orders, then again to receive them, when we did the coffee cups were visibly dirty, and delivered by the server with his thumb inside of the cup and on the drinking surface, instead of by the handle. Food was not horrible, however the overall uncleanliness of the whole store made the experience less desirable. The final straw was the baby cockroach crawling between our plates and the feces smeared across the wall of the women's bathroom. Will never go here again and strongly recommend others avoid it! Horrible. Don't come. This is my first review and I've taken the time to write it because I am disgusted by this trans national chain and the service it failed to provide. We waited 25 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. The table next to us had a spill that shattered a orange juice carafe that sent glass everywhere. Five, yes FIVE servers watched and did nothing as a patron began to help pick up the mess because there were children around the glass. NO ONE helped the waitress in charge. After I cleaned glass off of our group, I asked the poor waitress if I could get the manager to help her. When the manager finally arrived, she did not even identify herself and was not wearing a name tag. She was rude right off the bat. I tried to explain my concern regarding her staff and lack of teamwork when she interrupted me. She interrupted several time while giving excuses. I had to treat her like a child and tell her not to interrupt that I was trying to offer constructive feedback. She was not helpful. She does not understand the concept of service. She did not offer to clean the glass off if our table, comp our meal, nor move is to another table for that matter. I had to ask to move. I then had to ask a waiter to clean the new table. Our food staggered out of the kitchen. The eggs were burned. Who burns eggs? The hash browns were charred. I got up twice to fetch syrup, I know... no syrupy not the table at IHOP? The second time was to find flatware. Our waitress Karina was so stressed. I wish she would leave this nasty excuse of a restaurant and find another job. IHOP sucks big time! I been going every other weekend the service is okay. The last time we went to IHOP ...The server greeted us...she takes the order. We waited about 10-15mins on till they served us. Nope, I'd also hoped that this place would always get better, but it never did. Every time I go, there this uncomfortable aroma that can't be explained. The service is mediocre at best and expect to wait an 1hr+ for you food. I always thought that every IHOP was like this, but I had the chance to eat at one in South Florida, and everything and everyone were on the ball there that we were in and out within a hour.
