I'm not the ice cream freak in the family, although I do enjoy it now and then. While we were in Holland my son happened to come across this lovely corner spot and stopped in for some of their famous vanilla bean ice cream. He said it was the best he ever tasted in his life!!!! I love places that do one thing, and do it really well. Ljssalon W Laan is one of those places. They make vanilla ice cream, and yes you can get it as a sunday, with an assortment of toppings and in shakes, but it's all about the vanilla ice cream. How can an ice-cream shop that only sells vanilla ice cream stay in business? It's that freaking good, and they have been doing it for over 60 years. My wife and I split a small cup, and if we were not going to a party afterwards we would have bought a couple pints to take home.... Can't wait to go back. read more
