I have been to many Ikeas in my day, but this is one of my least favorite. Unfortunately, it is the closest one to Buffalo. I have not found it to be more packed than other Ikeas but it does seem smaller. They don't have quite as much in their As Is section but my main gripe is that the eating area is small, doesn't have a good kids area, and doesn't provide kids utensils. They don't seem to have as many food specials either but maybe those only occur in New Jersey. There is also no shade in the parking lot and only a few family parking spots. Mostly Ikea is Ikea though. There furniture seems to be more cheaply made (without actually getting cheaper) each year but there are a few random things that we just keep coming back for (like big glass jars). If you've been to Ikea's before, it's a pretty standard and consistent experience. Except this one is slightly less busy then some others, so that's a plus. What I did notice about this one was that it seemed to be under staffed. The bathroom near the cafeteria was filthy and in desperate need of a cleaning. And probably in need of some renovations as things looked like they were falling apart. Then, in the cafeteria, they were out of plates, cutlery, and food items in the area where you pick up the cinnamon buns. Also, how are you supposed to rejoin the line after you leave it to grab said buns? I feel like this is a design flaw with the check out process - there should be two cashiers side by side rather then back to back, otherwise you have a bottleneck with the first cashier and confused customers. I cut somebody off in line without even realizing it until it was too late, and I felt fucking horrible. Sorry, lady who was really pissed at me! I hope you read this and know it was unintentional and I was confused because who the hell has back to back cashiers in a single line? So inefficient! Also, my bad. Thank you for not kicking me in the junk. Live and learn! Food itself was kinda ok and kinda shitty. It was 10 bucks or something for the fish and rice I got. Fish was rubbery and the rice was flavorless. I tried my dad's fish and chips and they were alright. My mom got the spaghetti and it tasted and looked a little like spaghettios. The cinnamon bun was a good jolt of sugar and calories to the body. Perfect for a day of Ikea shopping. I should have just got the hot dogs after I was all shopped out. Maybe next time. read more

Obviously it's no 5-star meal, but for the price you pay, it's well worth it. Great taste for a hell of a lot less money. I think I paid 6.99 for the 15 Swedish meatballs and a small, bowl-sized scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy. I could've even gone with the 5.99 10 meatball dish, as I was already so stuffed by the 11th meatball. I also like how it's cafeteria styled. You get to pick your drink/dessert and add it to your tray as you walk by. Overall a great first experience eating at a furniture store! Lots of places to sit, lots of light, and nice interior. Will definitely make a pit stop for a cheap lunch whenever I'm in Hamilton, lol. P.S. The froyo downstairs from the cafeteria is YUMMY. Cheap too, only $1. read more

This is still one of the smallest Ikeas in Ontario. Despite renovating a few years ago it still does not match the behemoth in Vaughn. And thats ok. Because after 3 hours in a small store you have had enough! Today's visit was a small purchase day with two preteens. Due to how this Ikea is laid out we toured the Display rooms, stopped for lunch then headed down to the actual shopping. Lunch was good however the Ikea food newbies I was with were confused by the menu. I have to admit signs were hard to read so you needed to stand in line just to read the signs. Food was good, plentiful and inexpensive. Shopping was also good except Ikea has taken to placing some items only on the second floor causing you to re-enter "the Maze". That is fun the first time but frustrating when you just want one thing the second time. Ikea has put shortcuts in which helps. Time in check out line is good. Fairly fast considering # of shoppers. Parking is always a challenge. But we found some! read more

Excellent customer service, great selection, and delicious food. A convenience place serving Hamilton, Burlington, and surrounding areas. Pro tip: Come early! The best time to go is when the store opens, giving you 2 hours to shop before the crowdy noonish rush. Parking is good and its location is near Fortinos and other strip mall stores. I love an IKEA and this one is pretty much the same as all other IKEAs. It's pretty simple to get to off the QEW. We like to stop and have some meatballs on the way to Toronto since it's around half way. There's a grocery store next door where you can pick up some Kinder Treats (don't carry them home!). They've added a small grocery section just outside the registers at this IKEA in case you want some frozen meatballs to enjoy at home. Bring a cooler if you're headed back to the States from there, though. read more

I love Ikea! The furniture comes in handy for what you need it for without spending a ton of money. I love all the organizational items and decor for my home. I have been shopping there for years. Just make sure you have someone who knows how to put things together help you. I love the marketplace to get a quick bite to eat and it is great for the kids. I highly recommend. read more

I feel that the public has missed on what Ikea was intended for - furniture shopping, not the food, which is there if you need it and not as a "restaurant" but as a cafe to utilize for one's shopping convenience. It seems that shopping is now the furthest from the mind of those who drag their children there as if it were Chucky Cheese, making the shopping experience difficult for the adults, who are the ones who generally should be there. I have kids, who while I shop, are busy playing with friends or at activities intended for kids. PA days are a zoo at Ikea, but why? Aren't there better places for children than at a furniture shopping outlet, unless they are actually doing the choosing for their rooms? I now shudder when I as a single person, have to go through the self-checkouts goods in hands attempting to juggle the carrying, scanning, bagging and paying for items. Not a fun experience these days. Ikea, go back to using your self-checkout "helpers" as regular cashiers, and treat your customers the way they should be treated. Online delivery, which I have used in the past, kept me waiting longer than promised as the subcontracted drivers got lost reaching a very easily found address as they misread the address. Not the way the Swedes run their company back home. What a shame, Canada! read more

I ordered my kitchen and it was a disaster from day 1. People warned me about how poor the customer service was but I had know idea that it would be the worst customer service operation that I have ever dealt with. The customer service line is very unmanaged and the staff lack knowledge. In the end I cancelled my order and now I'm struggling with receiving my refund. Shame on you IKEA! read more

Very good service. Staff are realy friendly and the check out time is quick. I you are looking for clearance items I would recommend going to the Etobicko store as they has lower prices and better wacky Wednesday deals. However, there is less rush and better parking on this location. read more

My Elderly Uncle was told to by this sofa bed. It turns out to be a 2 person job. I have an engineering background, no problem. They gave him four 60 pound boxes, they failed to mention there was no mattress. It was missing parts. I had to drive there twice. The instructions were basically in sign language. The sofa bed literally fell apart into pieces all over the floor. I'm covered in saw dust. I have never been so upset and I have to bring it back to the store. read more

Yeah...it's a cafeteria inside of a big box store, but it's a darn good one.... and certainly worth the drive (to shop for house-hold items..... but for grabbing a quick meal before shopping as well). Obviously get the Swedish Meatballs... a whole pile of 'em served with (real) mashed potatoes, gravy, and lingonberry jam. Yum! The macaroni and cheese and the fried fish and the desserts are also quite good. And, this being IKEA, everything is available for purchase in the Food Market just past the check-out area. Also, it's super clean and decorated like a page from the IKEA catalog (no surprise there) so it's relaxing and bright. Oh.... and don't forget to buy bunch of stuff for your home while here. Terrible flow of customer returns. Two people doing returns, waiting for 45 minutes and only 1 new person seen. When we asked to talk with a manager, the answer was they base staff on flow. There is no flow!! Don't go in for a return if you want to do anything with your day. On a bright note, hotdogs are 0.77! read more

This review is for the cafeteria. I had lunch here around 11:00AM on May 5, 2013. I had the salmon and some cake--I can't remember the name, but it had chocolate and bits of nuts on top. What can I say, the food was typical Ikea and the food was the only reason that I stopped by on my way from Niagara Falls to Toronto for a combination breakfast/lunch--quick, fairly priced, and tasty enough. A family of three adults in front of me stood in line for about 8 minutes and still couldn't decide what they wanted at the head of the line, and this held up the line a little. Please people, read the menu and decide what you want while waiting in line. read more

We LOVE this Ikea! We love their children storage ideas... great products, great prices and an awesome atmosphere. The bathrooms are always pretty clean and we love the special touches they provide - from kid friendly utensils in the restaurant, healthy children's options, a small play station with free childcare so parents can shop, family bathrooms, beautiful showroom and so much more! I have personally been shopping here since I was in University - when I needed smaller storage ideas, a comfy bed for our townhouse and good prices! The staff have always been helpful and friendly. IKEA'S SYSTEM PROBLEMS BEHIND THE SCENES: 8/5/2018 Ikea Burlington received payment by visa for a bed and related items for an empty apartment all of which was to be delivered in Ottawa 8/26/2018. However, the clerk I spoke to 8/5/2018 forgot to charge tax. Therefore, on 8/11/2018 Ikea's system automatically cancelled the order. There was no notification of cancellation. The tracking system showed delivery at the scheduled time right through to the delivery day of 8/26/2018. The payment was disconnected from my order; later a manager had to look for it. No credit had been issued as of 8/26/2018. After 4 hours of waiting Ikea said: wait through the next delivery time, it will just be later today. 8 hours later it had not come. CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM: Recourse is the "Resolution Department." Staff member A. took a very long time to begin to understand presented facts, was not familiar with many of Ikea's procedures, and frequently consulted her supervisor. Following initial refusal I threatened reviews if I did not connect with a manager. After a 1 hour call I was finally given the opportunity to email the department manager E. my visa statement proving payment and the invoice. His final offer: delivery of the much-needed bed 8 days from 8/27/2008 and tax would be waived. The professional response would have been a special delivery that day or the next day. E. admitted that the only way such a tax mistake made by an Ikea employee would come to Ikea's attention would be when an expected delivery did not take place. Unbelievable. In my case I was also charged and not credited (and delivery was erroneously still indicated in tracking). Note that the Resolution Department gave very poor service. I would describe it as having particularly poor communication skills. The regular telephone staff were more sophisticated. My decision: visa credit because a bed was desperately needed due to new work commitments in Ottawa. Ikea would not offer more than putting the order back in the normal delivery queue (over a week away) and waive tax, an inconvenient solution. E.'s confirming refund email said that the "delivery" would be refunded, an incorrect choice of words. The amount was not stated and the order not mentioned. SUMMARY: Something has gone very wrong at Ikea, both in its systems and in its hiring and/or staff training and experience. This is very sad indeed. Any company that cares about its mistakes would have acted differently given at least 3 critical errors and a runaround for 2 days. My suggestion to customers is to do any buying in a store and never trust delivery commitments or the delivery tracking system. And be sure to put aside many hours just to get to and deal with the Resolution Department. read more

The food is average, the service is average and the products are average for a few years until they break which means this is an average place to shop, eat and browse around. It gets pretty crazy around the holiday seasons or whenever a sale is going on so make sure you plan your trip accordingly. read more

Wow always an experience. Not a fan of big crowds so I always try to go when it's relatively quiet. Like today 10:00 I was there and it still took a very long time to get the cabinets I wanted. It didn't help the staff member in the kitchen department was snippy and cold..... I thought about it and I put it down to an off day as most of the individuals that work there are friendly enough. I have always loved shopping at Ikea, but my recent experience purchasing a kitchen, has been a nightmare. In particular, ordering and having the quartz countertop installed. Once sold, the sale goes to a third party, Caesarstone. Neither company kept us in the loop with install dates or requirements. We had problems with caesarstone (inability to quote timeframes, no call backs, delays in manufacture) so asked ikea customer service to help us and they completely washed their hands of any responsibility. Not only would they not make a phone call on our behalf, but when promised a call from a customer service manager, he never bothered taking the time to do so. As it stands, the counter that was supposed to be installed within a specific time frame is just a few days from the latter end of that commitment and I have no idea when they will be here. I have been without a counter for weeks, some of it my fault, some of it theirs, and it's been a completely frustrating experience. read more

What a huge store! Taking a trip from the States for the wine festival in NOTL, we thought we'd drive a little further up past the Twenty Valley and get some sweet IKEA stuff. What a massive store, one of the biggest stores of any that I've ever been in, however the layout was super confusing for a first-time visitor. The prices on things are great; we got some amazing deals even coming from the States, which was awesome, and I was straight-up stunned at how cheap furniture was. However, the staff was not very helpful. We had a disagreement regarding the price of an item when I got down to the checkout but they did not really help me at all (it was over $2 or something), I mean I could have been wrong, but the way they handled it was somewhat off-putting. Regardless, I still very much enjoyed my trip and I'm somewhat thankful there isn't one closer to me because I'd end up with a house full of IKEA stuff that I don't need. read more

IKEA kitchen - never again. Traemand - never again. Day 1 the installer walked in, complained that another contractor was on the other side of the 600 sq ft room and stormed out, sulked in his truck for 30 minutes then left. Delivery - on time BUT lots of things missing. The designer neglected to measure floor to ceiling knowing hardwood was going in so it would be raised more so we couldn't have the nice panels on top of upper cabinetry. She also neglected to see if fridge would fit through our front doors and no, it wouldn't. IKEA said installers would bring it in from garage, installers say they can. When I had to change the appointment date for the designer it took FIVE calls with IKEA saying traemand had to do it and traemand saying IKEA had to. Had to run out to Burlington store to pick up all lights that were missing and get them to deliver all damaged products and missing items. They blew it again. Installers had to leave because they can't continue without items IKEA failed to deliver, right from the list I brought them. I could go on and on even further but I think you get.
