A local friend recommended this cafe to me. It's easy to miss because it's in a mixed use building and doesn't face the main street. The space is a bit older and dated looking, but it is cozy and warm. I finally had the chance to try it out for breakfast recently. Staff are very patient and friendly -- there were the 2 owners and 2 other staff. So all the customers were well taken care of. The restaurant was packed. It's small only a few tables. My friend and I grabbed a seat at the high top table. Their menu was larger than expected for a cafe! Quite a lot of options for sandwiches. We both tried the Breakfast Sandwich -- it's a croissant panini-grilled with 2 poached eggs, cheese, hash brown and choice of bacon or sausage. It was satisfying without being too greasy or oily. I had a regular drip coffee with cream. It was ok! They do have a small coffee menu. Not alternative dairy. Lastly, we tried the Borsch soup! When we learned the owners were Polish, we knew that we had to try the Polish items on the menu. The Borscht was light and fragrant. Loved it so much, we bought a container from their to-go fridge! As we entered the shop, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome and patiently waited for our decision. They had two soups - chicken noodles and the recommended potato dill - and I chose the latter. I got the peameal BLT sandwich, layered with thin-slicing well-seared bacon, lettuce and tomato. Mama Mila's Cafe is located in the middle of a mixed-used complex, where the front ground floor is a commercial unit, while the back ground floor and the upper floors are residential. The cafe is not visible from the street, but going into the complex, you'll find it in the middle of it. Parking is available on premises. Decor is simple, with a row of tables and chairs taking the entire left side of the cafe, the kitchen and counter sits at the back right, and a small sitting area with a TV is located at the front right. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, upon recommendation from the gentleman at the counter, as he indicated it is the best sandwich they make in the house. Unfortunately it did not taste good at all; the quality of the meat was poor, there was too much mushroom and not enough cheese. I attempted going a second time and order something different, before writing this review, but found out that they do not open on Sundays. Service is courteous. A solid 4! So I decided to try this place after seeing such greats reviews on yelp and I was satisfied. As I walked in I was greeted by this wonderful couple who own the place too.I was given the menu and since it was first time here I tried to play it safe. I ordered the house coffee which was standard nothing really to write about.I also ordered the plum donut-boy it was good.It was this medium dense donut with a sugar glaze from outside and light plum sauce filling in the inside. For the savory but I ordered their grilled cheese.It was absolutely fantastic, everything I want in a grilled cheese, lots of gooey cheese, white bread toasted with butter but this one has a great twist they added green onions in it which actually made it taste pretty damn good. Lastly before leaving I had a little chitchat with the owners and she asked me to try her house made pirogies and their famous philly steak sandwich.I can't wait to go there again and try new things. There is ample amount of parking across the cafe.The service was quick and friendly. I would have given this place 5 stars only if the ambience was more cozier.I felt it lacked the character for a cafe.Very basic needs a bit more character like some book shelves, better lighting more comfortable seating. read more

I came across Mama Mila's Cafe while I was waiting with my laptop to get my phone fixed. The place looks bigger on the inside and can seat about 20 + people here ( I counted the chairs and bench myself). I was greeted with a warm welcome a very sweet lady. I told her it was my first time here and she made some suggestions. I like to look at food before ordering (I'm sure all foodies understand the need to do this) and she went out of her way to show me the carrot cake. I had a sweet tooth that needed satisfying and I was sold as soon as I saw it. The carrot cake was amazing. I think it is THE moist carrot cake I've had and the (cream cheese?) frosting was just right. I loved how the carrot cake wasn't too sweet, and so the frosting balanced out the subtle sweetness of the cake. I'm not sure if they provide free WIFI, but I asked and they offered, which I appreciate which then made me want to write this wonderful review for them. They deserve a 5 star for their service, great dessert, coffee and maybe next time I drop by, I'll try their sandwiches. Thanks for making my wait such a pleasant one! read more

I was passing through Milton and I came across this tiny sandwich shop. I came right before close but the staff were extremely friendly and were more than happy to still serve me without making me feel rushed. I ended up ordering a pork sandwich. It surpassed my expectations for something priced less than $10 and came stuffed full of meat (see pictures). I can't comment on the other sandwiches but I would come back for this one. read more

Their coffees are really good (and I'm usually super picky with my coffee) and my daughter loves the chicken noodle soup. She gets it every time she's there . Rarely do you find it that fresh and if you like dill in your chicken noodle soup then that's a plus. It's usually quiet even when it's full, and the owners are fantastic. I love little ma and pa cafes - they offer so much character and charm. The owners are very friendly and personable people; they let me have a sample of their homemade soups and cookies before I made my selection. Hidden Gem! My brother was in town and wanted a sandwich for lunch. We by chance stumbled across this little cafe and were so happy we did. It is a quaint quiet place, nothing to rave about in terms of decor, however the service and food far exceeded my expectations. My Brother and I had the Philly Cheese Steak and my little boys had the Grilled Cheese, Both simple and absolutely delicious. For small business it can be tough sometimes and I more then appreciated the owners genuine nature. Both of whom went out of there way to come and thank us coming in. I'm so glad I listened to the reviews for this cafe! There are a lot of soup and sandwich places out there but this one goes above and beyond. The food is all made from scratch and you can tell. We had the apple, Brie, chicken panini, potato and dill soup as well as a side salad. It was so fresh and had great flavour. The prices are very reasonable too and the staff were amazing!
