They told me I had to come in October to buy Christmas decorations because they are only ordered ONCE a year and what they have is the left over. I wanted to buy a display with all the ornaments that fit my style in color and was told by the cashier I had to go to the center, in ask for an "As is" price, but they had to make a call, where the girl automatically states "We can't sell a display of ornaments "As is" until December 11th, right?" I offered to buy the display plus the ornaments at it's original cost and was told I had to come back on December 11th. For one, who only buys ONE SHIPMENT of Christmas ornaments per year in October and is told to come back mid December if I want the display? I almost dropped over $100 worth of additional merchandise left. She preceded to let me know I had to take back what I was not going to purchase to the front. I looked at her and walked away in disappointment. I am so embarrassed that I continuously bragged to friends and coworkers about coming here for their decorations. They are 20 minutes from my home. I'd rather drive 45 minutes to Frisco. Someone clearly knows how I feel because they left IKEA marked on the toilet paper bin, proving they are a waste. read more

First time ever having an issue. Called the number to get a replacement part. The phone representative verified the part needed and told us it would be coming out of Grand Prairie location. When it arrived was the wrong part. Took wrong part back to the Grand Prairie store to get the correct part. Was told it would be 20-25 minutes. After a hour of waiting FINALLY received the part. We went to ikea and dropped our oldest two kids off at the play space. Well, our youngest was beside himself that he wasn't big enough to go and was having a hard time. One of the employees (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) noticed our struggle and came over to chat. We did eventually get our son in a cart and started shopping - when lo and behold that same employee came up with an ice cream cone for our son. He was so happy! Not the best store to get furniture from. It's so overpriced and the piece of furniture I bought came damaged and the drawers wouldn't even stay on the thing! It was really crowded when I went and people weren't really being directed. Very disappointed with the first time experience. I even called Ikea about the dresser and they had me on hold for 20 minutes and proceeded to hang up. I tried calling again but I didn't have the patience to listen to the robot talk for five minutes again. Place seems nice, but the furniture isn't. This store employs racists employees and managers. My mother took my niece here to try and find a kids dining room table, and was harassed and accused of stealing a bag of CHIPS, that she purchased the moment she entered the store in the cafe. After my mom finished shopping around the store for the items she came for, she went through the checkout line to purchase the items she just shopped for when the Mexican lady that worked there called out to mom and yanked her up by her arm while trying to reach for my mothers purse and bags of items she PURCHASED FROM IKEA. My mom is trying to handle these bags, this women attacking her, and my 4 year old niece who's trying to run around. While the lady is yelling at my mom, holding her, and demanding a receipt even though she JUST went through the line my mom decides to make a complaint with the manager who called the police and put her out the store because my mom raised her voice because she disregarded her and her complaint. Had this had been a WHITE women they would've never grabbed her up or confronted my mom the way she did, but because she's a BLACK women I guess that dismisses all rules and respect. You don't put your hands on ANYONE, nor go through their things without an explanation. You are not the police and being women of COLOR you would think they understood that and could've just pulled her to the side and requested the receipt instead of yanking my moms arms like she's a child while my mom was trying to make sure her grandchild is not running out the door and into the street... read more

I am extremely disappointed with ikea. I placed an order (over $500) back in April and received an estimate of June 3rd. On that day, I called and asked for an update and they let me know that my order had not been processed since April. It was basically in limbo. I questioned whether they were going to notify me of the situation and they said No, that it was a good thing I called otherwise I would have never heard anything. However, that was about the 100th time I had tried calling with. I success. I cancelled my order and they notified me that it would take about 2-3 weeks before anything was refunded. Fortunately, it took 2-3 days, but when I saw the statement, my full amount was not refunded!! I was short about 50 dollars for an item that was never even "officially" placed much less delivered. This is a great store! I received fantastic help. Keisha at the kiosk was so kind and helpful with my order. And Ashley at the register calmed my frayed nerves after losing my wallet and driving in the crazy rain, I almost started crying. Ashley helped me find my wallet, made sure I got everything on my shopping list and practically held my hand until I had completed my ikea shopping. She is a true Angel! The only negative was the childcare, I stood in line behind one person, the care team took 10 minutes to measure her height, after they finally agreed she was tall enough, they looked up at me and said "sorry we're full", not sure why they had me wait in line if they knew they were full.... But all in all, this place is fantastic and the staff are very friendly and helpful. read more

Spent $300 dollars after moving to Texas. We watched lots of floor staff try to duck out if someone looked like they had a question. Register people can NOT use any info besides your member number at the register SO OUT OF LUCK ON ALL SALES. When we took our VERY heavy items out, there is NO help to your car. Even Target helps you carry an item. We get HOME AND THE PARTS TO THE DESK ARE WRONG. So the directions say to call. We call and spend 27 minutes and then get cut off. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT IKEA FOR ANYTHING AND WILL WARN OTHERS THAT THIS IS THE SERVICE AND QUALITY YOU WILL GET. read more

I love IKEA. I've shopped at their stores for years and I'm not one to complain or put a negative review but this has to be addressed. I wanted to return a mattress so I called the helpline to make sure I could return it. The service call rep said yes I was in window and could return to store no problem. I went to the store the next day waited in line 45 mts and the lady that helped me was incredibly rude. First she said I could only have store credit. I could not get my money back because the item had been opened. Fine I'll take store credit. I just wanted a softer mattress. Then the clerk told me I had to put the inflated mattress in a huge plastic bag or I could not do the rerun. Oh and i had to do it outside. Alone. I weigh 110 pounds I'm 5"5 and it was a windy day winds up to 30 mph. I asked her "are you serious?" She said " do you want to return?" So out I go with this huge mattress to the exit to the and wrangle the mattress into this bag fighting the winds. It was a horrible experience and I'm so sad about it because I love ikea all of my furniture is from there. read more

I have been to several different IKEAs all over the country and was so excited to have one near my home in Fort Worth. At most iKEA's when I need help loading something heavy there's usually someone to help me at the loading dock. I'm a 62-year-old woman and I'm not as strong as I used to be. There was a young man in the showroom that helped me load a very heavy item into the cart and said that I could ask for help out front to load my car. I asked the cashier if there was anyone that could help me and he said I needed to go somewhere to look for help. I left my cart at the loading dock and retrieved my car but couldn't find anyone to help. Now my back really hurts. I get the concept of IKEA it is a warehouse however we're not all huge strong young men that can load the things we buy there. read more

The worse experience ever on anything I ever done in Usa. I ordered 2 closets in 2 different colors. They never delivered innfirst place, I tried call ikea tell what happen was mission impossible, so I had take day off go in ikea and talk to them, they scheduled another another delivery date I took another day off wait for them, they delivered half of my closet in right color and other parts were in wrong color, I hired someone to put closet Together and he was done closet had 2 colors white and black, I paid guy for doing his job and I still don't have my closet, trying call ikea again because I live hour away mission impossible, no one ever respond phone calls and you can't resolve anything on the phone so you always have to go there, poor manager trying his best and whole i am waiting to resolve my issue I see another lady came right from downtown of Chicago to suburbs in ikea because she had same problem and no one is answering the phone, she also had take a day off, and after waiting another 30 min I saw guy with his sun upset like hell with his stuff, I felt so bad for manager because everyone was blaming him and he kept sorry and tried his best to resolve everting, I know that day he worked over hours just to make everyone happy. Seriously manager that gets paid $13 per hour has to be responsible for billion dollars company that simple doesn't give shit about costumers, so I took another day off waiting my 3 delivery, I have to hire someone again to put this closet. $350 closet costcme so far $1200 with days off and keep hiring ppl do same job. Pros: - More showrooms. I love to browse those for ideas - Lighter and brighter cafeteria - Storage lockers at the front. Great when it's freezing out and you're wearing a big coat or want to store your kid's coat so they don't lose it, Cons: - The cart situation . Having been through the store, I get why they moved the carts from the front door to the beginning of the Marketplace section. It's easier to walk around in the showroom area and get something to eat without a cart. ( Especially when someone steals yours while you get something to eat. Yes, that did happen. I parked my cart in the designated area, got something to eat, and came back to my items on the floor and my cart gone.) The breakdown is in what the front door employees are saying to explain where the carts are now. I was told they were moved because there's no room for them up front. That comes across as poor store design and stupidity. Instead, a quick explanation of "we moved the carts by Marketplace since that's where you can pick up the items that caught your eye in the showrooms. Similar to how we have the flat carts in the warehouse section where you pick up flat packs." Simple, easy and a reasonable explanation that sounds like they made an improvement instead of poor planning for the front door area. read more

This is the first time I've ever been to an IKEA. My boyfriend came to get a drawer which was about a hundred bucks. A hundred bucks meaning you can eat free right? That sounds nice. So the lady who informed us this told us to go pay for the item then come to the restaurant with the receipt. So we went to the cafeteria, got our food, came to the register where the cashier told us that we were misinformed. She told us to pay, grab the receipt then go get a refund. Since we already had the food, we didn't mind the hassle. HOWEVER, at the refund center, the cashier asked us about a coupon. What coupon?! Wow! Not only that it's my first experience being at this place. The employees, most of them, they looked unhappy and rude besides the greeter at the front door who was very informative.
