I do feel like staff on the sales floor are hit & miss, often we pass by them but we don't really get much of an acknowledgement. None most of the times. It's the most wonderful time of the year to visit World Market! I love going during Christmas time. Just make sure to wear your mask and social distance, people.. luckily there are hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the store. Jon and I found lots of goodies for our families. We made a coffee-lovers gift basket for his sister and husband with two beautiful mugs, 5 little bags of different types of coffee, a selection of flavored syrups, two coffee "shots," a coffee spoon, and even some hot cocoa for the kiddos. We also put together a popcorn gift for Jon's mom with three types of popcorn, an assortment of flavorings, popcorn butter, and the cutest red popcorn bowl. We found a handful of stocking stuffers as well, including a cool little wooden puzzle and candied bacon for my brother-in-law. Of course we couldn't leave without buying a few treasures for ourselves... we bought a bronze wine rack, charcoal face wash, a couple christmas ornaments and decor, hot chocolate for ourselves, and a giant ice-cube tray for Jon's cocktails. I went here thinking it was a grocery store. WRONG! This place is a weird combination of over priced furniture and food and drink oddities. They had some interesting wine and beer, as well as some snacks and candies I had never seen before that looked good, but the vast majority of the store is taken up by expensive furniture and knick-knacks, none of which seemed super high quality or useful for me. read more

I do not love coming into the Highlands, but I love World Market. It is one of those places you just go to to browse. They have such an interesting collection of things. From lamps and decor, to kitchenware, wine, food, and just interesting little tchotchkes. Want to find a Ruth Bader Ginsburg action figure, they've got it. It is always clean and well organized, the people working there are always nice, and they have baskets strategically placed around the store for those times you've picked up more than you intended. read more

One of my favorite stores in the entire world- next to the Container Store! I only pop in for a few things and I almost always come out with something from every part of the world. A few items I remember from my childhood in Germany and then it's off to another part of the world, to pillows then coffee mugs, wines, and dinnerware. I like World Market I don't buy much there but I like to look around. The items are cool but they are just things to put around the house for decorating. But they do have furniture, dining room chairs and tables. And I really like the tables we even bought one a while ago. They do have a good selection of kitchen items and glasses and plates. You really can find a lot here good place to buy a gift. They even have food or snacks to buy. And a pretty good wine department. We do buy wine here on occasions. The selection is very good. And on weekends they usually have tastings. Free tastings is always a good thing that will bring me back to the store. The service has been good for me at this location. Check out is not a problem. If i could leave zero stars, i WOULD. Don't come to this location. The cashier didn't wrap up my vase properly and as soon as i walked out of the store with it, it broke. The store was dirty, unorganized, and the lady who i would assume is the manager was very rude and stood around doing absolutely nothing except telling the people entering the store that the store would be closing in 20 minutes. Don't come here unless you want your items to break as soon as you leave the store bc they don't properly wrap up your fragile items!! read more

While their merchandise is wonderful, the customer service is so awful. Make the extra trip and go to the one in Fort Worth. They will leave items out of your order and not care when you have to drive all the way back up there to get it. As another reviewer mentioned, they also bag very carelessly and don't wrap things well enough to protect items even for the ride home. This place is a an awesome introductory place to stuff available around the world. Let me emphasize INTRODUCTORY. I would never touch their rice noodles made for pho (it just looks old) but I do like their huge array of kitchen ware and condiments. They carry Vegemite! I wished their tea selection was larger but then again, their beer and wine corner is very thorough. I guess that's where their expertise lie. I would love to stock up a picnic basket full of their little travel packs of Nutella and water crackers but they're so expensive. 99 cents for barely a tablespoon of hazelnut goodness. In Ohio where I'm from I had never heard of it but VERY quickly became a fan of it. They have and abundance of crazy, cool, eclectic things from all over the country and the world. This World Market location has the best employees. I came here looking for some rugs and was greeted with a smile and helping hand from Samara. She was friendly and offered great advise on the cleaning care of the different rugs. My cashier, Jade, was patient, sweet, and helpful in assisting with a tricky coupon that wasn't working in the system. I really, really enjoy this place. Not only do I get to discover food items from across the world but they have some nice decor and furniture too! The furniture is priced like any other furniture store but their furniture appeals to my style more. None of it strange looking, it's usually simplistic cloth (no patterns) but a cool architecture. I have yet to purchase furniture from here but I plan on it in the future. I always get decor here when I visit, though. They have some really nifty paper lanterns that I took with me when I lived in my sorority house, everyone thought they were super cute. I also bought a white octopus figure for my current apartment that actually is a nice touch. I am a sucker for their products. Another one of those stores that you might walk in for 1 item or to browse and walk out at least 25 bucks poorer and a sack full of goodies to take home. WM is a great store for those who like trying something new. They stock a worldly selection of candies, snacks, wines, beers, furniture and even more wines. If you're a wine-lover, be sure to check online or circulars for their "Wine tasting weekends" which usually consist of 2 or more stations set up throughout the store that sample some nice wines and interesting snacks. The last time I ran into one of these events (purely by accident, I assure you..), they were sampling a habenero-stuffed olive that totally blew me away. They also carry some exclusive wines such as Rene Barbier which is a very cheap but very drinkable table-wine. Beers are well-represented both by region as well as rarity or brewery-size. Great selection of syrups that you can put in coffee/teas. Lots of different beers to choose from, and you can create your own 6-pack so you can try them all without having to commit to one pack at a time. They don't have beer that I had enjoyed in Africa. They have a good selection of wine. I've been searching DFW for Beviamo Moscato D'asti. They carry them at World Market, but they're in such high demand that I always miss the shipment, and it's sold by the time I stop by for them. Sad they don't keep a wait list for it. A really nice female sales associate had recommended another bottle of wine for me to hold me over until the next time I come back for my Moscato. They host a wine tasting every Saturday from 1-4PM. I really dig this location despite it being in a kind of weird spot. All I planned to do was go in and buy a candle and two scarves as a gift. I ended up leaving with a stick of pastrami, a bottle of wine, three boxes of cake mix, coffee, some random dishes, and a giraffe. Like WTH?! But this is what I love about World Market. It is a cluster of random from around the world with lots of great nommies and if you are ever confused, just ask one of the sweet sales people. Be prepared to spend more money than you planned. It's a fun store to browse the many wines, beers, coffees and stuff from around the world. The quality of most of the merchandise is questionable. Because they carry so many different wines and beers, some product doesn't turn over often and ages on the shelf. Once in awhile they have a great wine special, but most of the time you can do better at Costco, Specs or Total Wine and More. Notwithstanding, I've purchased some delicious coffee, some really good wine at good prices and some unique items that you can't find anywhere else. World Market always has so much cool stuff to offer. I love all of their unique furniture, home decor items, and kitchen/dining products that you can't find at Target or Costco. Furniture and home decor can be a bit pricey, so the best time to go is during the sales. I've been able to find lots of affordable kitchen gadgets, as well as high quality ramekins for $2 a piece that look exactly like the expensive Williams Sonoma ramekins that are like $15 a piece. Score! What I also love about this World Market is the snacks and beverages from all different countries, and it's in the same price range you would find at any grocery store. The beer and wine selection is just as good as Whole Foods and Central Market. It's definitely not as big, but if you'd rather avoid the long lines at Central Market it's a great alternative. The World Market staff is great and everyone is nice and helpful. The associates even help customers load and unload big items into their cars. Talk about great customer service! The checkout lines are usually short too, and unlike places like Walmart they will open registers so the lines don't get backed up. That's a bonus in my book! read more

World Market is the most interesting and convenient store in The Highlands. I say this because I can buy a bento box to pack my lunch, pick up a pack of good beer, buy a birthday gift for a friend and a card, and buy decorations to embellish my home at the same time. Additionally, they sell imported snacks and preserved foods. As a fellow Asian, I would not recommend their Asian products as they are overpriced. If you need Asian staples, drive to the 5 Asian supermarkets in the area to stock up, don't get it at World Market. They have the best selection of holiday and seasonal items and their gift wrapping stuff is the best. I also love their selection of home furniture, as they tend to be more industrial and shabby chic. If I could deck out my living room and kitchen with only World Market furniture and supplies, it would work beautifully but my budget will not allow it. I tend to buy my dishware at either Pier 1 Imports or World Market. They have lots of decorative ceramics, cake platters, and glasses. Even their mug selection is unique. Also, to my delight, they have vintage sodas that are usually hard to find. If any of you was broken up about The Soda Gallery in Oak Cliff closing down, World Market can hook you up. They also have a great selection of specialty beers. If you're in the area and need a unique gift or need to shop for home decor, this place is a must. read more
