The store also has an cooking school in the back room. I had a peak at a class in progress as it is open to browsing shoppers. Though you can use your card you must spend over $20 - I got stuck out and had to rummage through my purse to find the dimes. Price wise you can find some inexpensive yummy original gifts and you can pay a lot for quality pots, pans and knives. If gourmet food gifts, giant jars of strawberry jam and funky kitchen appliances are your things Accoutrement is your place.

The plates, cutlery, glasses, kitchen ware, plants, Manchester goods and art work are my favourite items. I only have one problem..... I don't buy anything big as I can't tolerate assembling cabinets or wardrobes.... I think I was born with two left thumbs and I just don't have the patience. But hang on.... they do have IKEA people who will come to the home and assemble the item at a cost. Happy shopping.

I went one time and saw mostly handmade crafts and trinkets. There was even a vendor selling visors for dogs. The memorable one for me was Lunar Crafts because her crochet work was so good. There are a handful coffee and food vendors but not much to get full. On the green there were what looked like to me people selling their closets. A lot of signs read "need everything gone" and "buy 5 for $5". They had mostly clothes but also shoes. It's fun to walk around and get views of the Anzac bridge, the Sydney harbor bridge, and the Opera House. Luna Park is not too far away. Parking - free and paid parking on the street.

I actually planned my vacations so that I could be here on the fourth Saturday of the month -- while both living in Sydney and visiting. I believe they have an extra market in December (or maybe they move the date?). It also happens to be located in one of the more picturesque spots in Sydney, great view of the Harbour Bridge! Anyway, it is conveniently located next to the Kirribilli train station and once you're done, there are tons of cafes to check out, grab a flat white and admire your wares.

The shop sells gifts, furniture, women's clothing and homewares, all very reminiscent of the 'old times'. Tablecloths with pretty floral patterns, A-line dresses, white ceramic trinkets, doilies, for the love of god. It's actually really cute. The colour schemes are great, I love the patterns they have, and they have some truly unique furniture pieces, the kind that you wouldn't expect to be factory-made. Intricate little vanities, white, ornate chests of drawers... that kind of thing. While any of this would look terribly out of my place in my living area, there are plenty who enjoy home décor of this sort, so if you're one of them, give it a look.

Loganberry Lane (which sounds like the street address for a character from Anne of Green Gables to…read moreme) is a lovely gift shop chock full of a huge range of clothing, accessories and homeware. While a little heavy on the scented candles for my taste, there's a whole room of babies clothes, toys and gifts for kids, and a smaller one out the back which has a range of women's cotton nightwear of the white and floaty variety. There's also some women's clothing, also mostly of cotton, including some brands like Boom Shankar that I have seen priced much more expensively elsewhere. There's the odd real bargain hiding in here, as well as a few local and handmade items, including a small range of locally produced fudge locked away in a coolbox.

I don't have a house. Until one day when THE sideboard was there. Red and green and gold curlicues handpainted and beautiful to the nth degree. I caved. Channelled my inner haggler (who's usually pretty darn deep) and the salesguy gave me a great deal on a price that was already a third of what you'd pay for the same thing in a swanky shop in Newtown. I don't go by often, but have never again seen anything quite so nice as mine, but worth keeping an eye on. The general stock seems ok to me, but the odd Mongolian piece at fantastic prices is worth the trip out. Just need the house to put it in...

Eventually I returned and was inspired by the beautiful pieces displayed throughout the store. And then I looked at the prices...thousands of dollars for French drawers! I have since searched on eBay and found a more beautiful chest of drawers for only $100! French Accent is great if you have the money but of you don't then visit the store for some interior inspiration!

They have beautiful saucepans, rolling pins, baking pans and gadgets I have never heard of but I am sure are really useful. It is truly an Aladdin's cave. The have Jamie Oliver, Cusinart, Scanpan, Mondial Knives, I could go and on. Service is a bit so so but who cares, it's mainly self service anyway. Pure heaven!
