My husband and I needed to pick up some items at IKEA a few weeks ago and thought, "Why not have brunch while we're there?!" It had been years since we had eaten at IKEA, and I'm not sure why, because it's actually still a very fun, delicious, and incredibly affordable meal. If you haven't been before, it's cafeteria-style, so you grab a tray and ask what for what you'd like. On this visit, we shared a bowl of mac and cheese (wildly affordable and surprisingly good) and a Swedish meatball plate (with fries and peas and gravy and lingonberry jam), which always hits the spot. It's simple and delicious, quick and affordable. So if you're at IKEA to do some shopping, don't miss a quick meal at the restaurant! Still a fun experience after all these years!

    Shrimp salad and Greek salad

We are huge fans of Ikea's restaurant. You can't get a bigger bang for your buck anywhere. My husband and I can get a full meal for just around 20 bucks. I love that they recently added shrimp salad to their menu, particularly that it's sold without the croissant since I'm trying to eat low carb. I also love their almond cake. And I love cashing in on the free coffee that Ikea family members get. We come here faithfully basically every week!

My friends wanted to eat here for breakfast as we were staying at a hotel nearby and it was walking distance. This was my first time eating at Ikea and I didn't really know what to expect. There was a line when we got there however it was fairly quick and the food was served hot and fresh. We got the Swedish meatball plate, breakfast plate and their pancakes/waffles. Overall it was decent for the price and taste. If you are nearby in the area and want something quick and simple to eat, go check out Ikea. Plus, you can walk around to burn off the calories by checking out their furniture afterwards ~

Salmon balls with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables $5.99

This was our first visit to the restaurant part, which is a cafeteria offering reasonably priced entrees. We tried the Swedish meatballs with 2 vegetables for $5.99 and salmon balls with 2 vegetables also for $5.99. Meatballs were good, but salmon balls were dry and bland. Hot coffee and tea are free with Ikea rewards card. This restaurant is smaller than the Ikea in College Park. But it is cleaner and less crowded. Good to come here for a healthy meal.

    IKEA in Nottingham, Maryland.

I love IKEA. It is one of my happy places. The IKEA in Nottingham, Maryland is a great place to go for shopping. Lots of parking. Lots of home decor ideas. Most things are inexpensive but still nice quality. I have had a number of furniture items from IKEA over the years and they always hold up and are well constructed. I just really love their design aesthetic. They have clean restrooms. They have a restaurant and also a snack bar. If you join their e-mail loyalty program they will send nice coupons and gift certificates. I can't say enough nice things about IKEA.

    Swedish meatballs

Pros: + Swedish meatballs + Low prices + Overabundant seating + Fast service Cons: - Limited selection Every Ikea store has an in-house restaurant which serves things, like their signature Swedish meatballs, which comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, and lingonberry jam. You get 15 meatballs for $5.99, and for $1 more you can get 5 additional meatballs. It's such a great deal. The food is delicious and filling, and so cheap! This particular location has soooo much seating, I can't imagine it ever filling up to more than 25% capacity. The restaurant area is so quiet, it's really nice and relaxing to just eat here after a long hour or two of evaluating furniture. The only downside is that their selection of food is quite limited. But I mean come on, it's not really a stand-alone restaurant. You came here to look at furniture, right?

This restaurant is an extension of the food court on the inside of White Marsh Mall. There is an outside entrance ìdentifiable by a blue awning, that's your visual. For those that are challenged by steps, tĥere is a small elevator, the only hitch witĥ tĥat is is operated by the hostess. The seating is adequate, no delay at mid day. Service was great! The servers were busy at their pace, nothing rushed, but steady which made all the difference in the atmosphere in the dining areas. One note on seating, if you sit on the right side, you will be close to the partition between the kitchen and you, making a noisier visit. There are quietier sections. The menu was a scaled down version of the 1 in Canton. It would be too ambitious to attempt to make all of that This menu was well thought out. The food was fantastic. I had the crispy chicken sandwich, omg, it was fantastic. It comes with boom boom sauce, which i requested be put on the side. There is also a sides section, the onion rings were crispy, nice and hot. My husband had a waffle, a "chocolate" waffle meaning a regular plain waffle with chocolate chips, and sliced strawberries on top, which was a bit of a disappointment, but it came together as it should.

On the plus side my family enjoyed the ribs and crab balls. On the negative side, the fish in my fish and chips was painfully thin and small. Normally you get a nice chunky piece of fish when you get fish and chips. Not only that, l've never had fish and chips where the skin was on the fish. I left most of the skin behind, but ate some of it because the portion was so small. I had to eat something. Please have the chef look up what fish and chips is supposed to look like. Despite being the only server, our wait person was outstanding - it wasn't their fault that they had to handle the entire dining room. . Also appreciated the carafe of water on the table - but why no ice -had to drink lukewarm water. Make sure to ask for prices upfront and verify-for a single crabcake entrée, we paid $63 when it's advertised online as 30. Let the buyer beware.. Wouldn't feel a need to return at this point, too many other better options.

We got margaritas: strawberry and house both on the rocks. They were great! My husband ordered a chimichanga and I have a trio of tacos. The kids had sliders and chicken nuggets. The nuggets were their favorite. They both ordered applesauce but the restaurant doesn't have spoons yet and they were out of plastic spoons. No biggie for us (we learned that forks do applesauce pretty well!) Dinner took a turn when we had a very, very large bug join us at the table. My husband killed it but it, in turn, killed our appetite. My kids who spotted it first, begged to leave, but we told them we should finish dinner. They then found another much smaller bug and at that point refused to sit down because they were convinced they were feeling bugs crawling on them (they weren't, but I also couldn't blame them). We had mostly finished so we headed out quickly. We got home and unfortunately the cherry on top of the experience: both got sick (we didn't eat lunch after a busy kids sports day), so it was obvious this was the source. His dish had chicken and steak and I had a chicken and a steak taco, so not sure exactly the overlap. We were super disappointed we have fond memories of Banditos in Baltimore from when we lived downtown. Would like to add the manager and server both were extremely attentive, apologetic and insistent that they discount our meal. We were appreciative they took the incident seriously and trust they'll resolve it.

I ordered the mix-and-match tacos (Birria and Bang Bang Shrimp), which came with two sides. I chose the the Dito Caesar salad and Tajín waffle fries. The Birria taco was good, though the meat could've been a bit more tender. The Bang Bang Shrimp taco surprised me. The sauce was more sweet than spicy, it was missing that spicy "kick" that Im use to. You know the kick that Bonefish has went their Bang Bang Shrimp. However it was still tasty overall. The Dito Caesar salad, unfortunately, didn't hit the mark. It had plenty of dressing but somehow lacked flavor. Honestly tasted like plain iceberg lettuce. On the bright side, the Tajín waffle fries were solid, with a really nice crunch. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'd come back more for the drinks and atmosphere than the food.
