I can say I am a ramen fan, having tried almost all of the ramen shops in the country (except Ippudo I think). This is my first time trying Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen.
The menu showed tips on how to properly savor a good ramen. They also have the option to choose the firmness of the noodles. I usually judge a good bowl of noodles soup based on broth/soup then noodles then toppings.
I ordered the Vegi something cheese, a healthier choice filled with vegetables and chashu bits. The soup was a bit creamy because of the cheese, but it was satiating that I wasn't able to finish the soup. It was also a bit salty and murky when no longer hot. The noodles was ok, but few, I think I only had three slurps. I didn't like the soft-boiled egg it cam along with. The taste was a bit off though I couldn't explain it really. The chashu pork bits somehow melted into the soup because I wasn't able to have a bite on it. Overall, it was an okay but forgettable dish.
My wife had a spicy pepper ramen soup with chashu (will revert on the name of the dish). The clear soup was salty, a bit peppery but the flavor is present. As for her, it was an ok dish but not worth the money.
For appetizer, we tried chips with uni (sea urchin) sauce. It was a pretty unique dish. The chips were bland because it needs to complement the saltiness of the uni sauce. However, the sauce was too salty beyond measure. We tried to get a big chip and have a tiny dip but it was still too salty.
Ambiance is good with the decors. Service was a little bad. I remembering raising my hand countless times and waving, but none came. Most of theur heads were bowed and some were looking straight at you but not noticing you. read more
