Tsukemen means "dipping noodles", the art of eating ramen with a separate broth and soup to dip the noodles. The regular bowl of cheese tsukemen is a contention of a savory soup and thick sauce cheese. The taste is confusing on the the onset but I easily acquired the taste. I also ordered ebi tempura don. I have the urge that I deserve to eat noodleas and rice at the same time. The pacing of the service is slow. There's a refillable service tea but they don't serve glass of water. You can also bring home pastries and bread from Yamato Bakery conveniently connected at Mitsuydo Sei-Men. The original branch is located at Jupiter street in Makati City.

My dad's relatives are somewhat aware, so they suggested we go here for lunch. I was bummed because of the lack of local eateries we've been to so far (which will be a recurring pattern for the rest of our time here). And Ippudo already has locations back in the States. But I was still interested in going since I didn't get the opportunity to go during my Japan trip last year. You will find the restaurant on the second floor of Greenbelt 5, a shopping mall in Makati. Next to Chili's, which I'm sure is a familiar name for everyone. There was a bit of a wait since it was busy. Seating was tight because our part of six was smushed into a booth that should probably only accommodate four. A bowl of ramen is about $8-12 USD, on the higher end locally (the average office worker in Manila makes less than $10 an hour). I tried their limited edition (available until April 30) Yakiniku Ramen. The pork bone broth was lukewarm, but the consistency of the Hakata style noodles were great and the soft boiled egg was perfect. I would liken this type of restaurant to Chipotle, where you can customize your order. Ramen Nagi is the fast casual version for Ramen. We were greeted with the enthusiastic Irasshaimase by the servers as we stepped inside. The restaurant had Japanese decor all around, with tables, chairs and benches for larger dining groups. Phia helped me customize my order based on my preference, which each one wrote on their own order sheets and later on collected by our server. Our sever delivered drinks and after a short wait, everyone's piping hot ramen. After my first sip of the broth, I could immediately tell these guys have something special going on. The rich broth was meaty, with a creamy texture. It was very tasty! Everyone in my group enjoyed their ramen-- including me as only remnants of the broth remained in my bowl after I was done... yes, we have a ramen convert here. If I had one quibble, it would be that the restaurant temp was on the warm side, which made some of us (not gonna name names Raphael) sweat profusely. However, if it were any cooler, the ramen would cool down pretty quickly. Although Ramen Nagi would be at a different segment and lower price point than Ippudo, I would have to say that I enjoyed my experience in Ramen Nagi QC, Philippines much more than dining at Ippudo in NY. From the food to the relaxed ambience to the company of my beloved family... my Ramen Nagi visit was just awesome. I would go back in a heartbeat-- if I could!
