Needed to get a few new shirts on a trip to Paris and this place definitely did the trick. Friendly service, though (and not through any fault of their staff here), the VAT refund took quite a long time. read more

They are pretty well entrenched into the fabric the seemingly ever-changing Montmartre/Barbès neighborhood. The owner and in-house label designer is always a pleasure to chat with. But I digress... The boutique is dope. They offer a number of niche brands that create some quality clothing. Also the in-house Isakin brand is coming out with some very well put together pieces each season. I shop mostly for their pieces when I'm there. They give you that Parisien refinement without any of the pretentiousness. You can't help but to love it. This place is a neighborhood gem.

Ummm, never. That's what I thought. And that's what makes this particular L'Eclaireur address one of the most unique and pleasant boutiques to visit in Paris, let alone the rest of the world. I rarely go to this shop because everything there is just too gorgeous and too expensive, but yesterday I was in the neighborhood and stopped by because I've been fantasizing recently over these adorable charms by an LA-based artist named Catherine Michaels that I knew l'Eclaireur carried. Of course the charm that I wanted was one of the pricier of the series, but I've been a very good girl lately and felt like I deserved it. The saleswomen helping were absolutely adorable despite their chic, sophisticated looks. They were so helpful, looking through catalogs to see what was in stock, getting out different strings for me to try my charms on with, marveling with me at how intricate and unique the designs were. It was such a pleasant pause from reality that the purchase happened almost in a blur. But every time I look down now at my fantastic charm necklace I'm thrown back to the experience and am so happy that I decided to ring that bell alongside that ominous door.

In all honesty, I waited maybe about 15 minutes which I don't even think was that long. It gave me enough time to look through the beautiful store. Every product was elegantly displayed. When I was assigned an SA, she showed me the bags I wanted to look at, gave me style tips, and recommendations on how to take care of the leather. In the end, I opted against buying a bag simply because I was underwhelmed by the leather quality but not because the service was anything short of amazing.

Big, gorgeous two-story space with a café and restrooms tucked in the back. Best part? They actually had the bag my girlfriend wanted -- unlike the wild goose chases in Barcelona and Prague. She was ecstatic, which meant I got a free pass to spontaneously duck into wine bars as we wandered Paris while she sat there drinking coffee and floating on a cloud of Hermès happiness. Win-win. The brand is a bit statusy…read more(and expensive) for my taste, but they have a tableware line I've admired for years, and I figured it'd be meaningfully cheaper in France. I wasn't going to go out of my way during such a short visit with my two small children, but when we found ourselves walking past the place on our way to the Christmas markets, I decided to go in for a quick browse. It turned out to be a wonderful stop on our chaotic Christmas-themed mini-tour of France. The store had been transformed into a fancy Christmas destination, with a scavenger hunt that took guests, both children and adults, through several stops within the store, where they played adorable immersive carnival-style games and received stamps in a little book. Once the stamps were all collected, they could be redeemed for a special gift. At first, I was just grateful that my kids had something to do while my friend and I looked at a change tray I'd had my eye on for a few Christmases but had never seen in person. The woman helping me (I think her name was Claude) was gracious and professional. She had me sit, showed me catalogues, and went into the depths of inventory to retrieve the tray I wanted. I ran the numbers and figured I was looking at about a 30% discount with the French price and the tax refund. I bought the change tray and took it home in that distinctive orange box, which I put under the tree as a gift to myself. When I found my children again, they were with my mom in the climactic final stage of the scavenger hunt, a lushly decorated Christmas room with a couple of final games and the prize station: a table where all customers were invited to make their own Christmas ornaments with Hermès store quality ribbons and leather and little bits of hardware. There were sweet attendants who helped my boys, but most of the people claiming these prizes were adults. My kids had an absolute blast, and I got some great photos of them throwing fluffy snowballs at felt Christmas trees and posing in a fake gondola in the shape of an Hermès luggage tag. My five-year-old declared that this was his favorite store, and I tried to get him to memorize "Hermès Saint-Honoré" so we could troll his dad on FaceTime. I was pleased with my purchase, and all of us, children and adults, were impressed and thrilled with this surprise holiday experience. I'll bet we could sell those ornaments for a couple hundred bucks, too, but I'm happier having them on our tree.

I dropped her off then walked over to the seine to get myself a crepe. I was minding my business when my friend started sending me pics of the bags she was looking at and trying to pick. She mentioned she was a little tipsy then asked me to pull up cos apparently the people were so nice. I finished my crepe and walked over. Unlike when I dropped off my friend and we had to wait outside, I was able to just walk in and tell security I already had an appointment. I found my friend sitting so I headed to her direction. I was immediately given a champagne. Alfa came over with a variety of fanny packs because that's exactly what I wanted. I had previously looked online and picked a couple styles that suited me. I didn't like the choices that were presented so we went to another area where more choices were displayed. I was given another champagne at this point. After some flip flopping, I decided on the style that was completely different from what I originally picked. The payment process was a breeze. After registering to their system, they verify some information then you're led to the corner to handle payment. Alfa walked us out with our bags after fully explaining the tax refund process. He was so nice and thorough and just all around pleasant. What I really appreciated is that they don't rush you. Alfa was very patient with me and not at all pushy. He waited for me to decide on what I wanted which is the same thing that happened to my friend who kept changing her mind. She made a point to tell me how patient he was with her since he kept going back to get more bags. I already know what I want to get next. See you guys in a few months.
