Grilled seafood platter
Nicholas T.

Fantastic food after a long hike. Their house wine is great too - made in local vineyard up in the hills. Try the seafood spaghetti and local pesto pasta (cinque Terre is known for its pesto!). Serve it with a dish of grilled local seafood delicacies (they call it fruit of the sea). You must try their wine. The red is sublime and the white goes well with the pesto. We got both the white and red - in smaller 375mL bottles. Their dessert is a must try as well - try the home made tiramisu!

A little pricey, but this was the BEST pesto pasta we've had in our 3 trips to Italy.

Right off the bat, a lil bit of a weird vibe from the hostess and the waiter that gave us nonstop stares as we sat down and then proceeded to bring us stale bread in a paper bag. At first I thought it was just a few stares because we're American and that's maybe understandable, but every time I would look over in their direction I was met with intense eye contact and it made us all feel very uncomfortable and almost unwelcome. The inside ambiance was also a little sterile but whatever, it was also colder out so their outside area was closed so that was a bummer but understandable. We ordered the Trofie Al Pesto and the Lasgana, as well as the grilled mixed seafood. The pesto came with prepackaged Parmesan (felt a lil weird for a restaurant in Italy) and was a lil too sauce heavy. The lasagna on the other hand was outstanding, probably the only win of the night. Grilled seafood was okay too but nothing special. Overall just a weird and off vibe from the service, nothing friendly or outstanding like the reviews said. Definitely will not be returning and left us with a bad taste in our mouth once we left.

The appetizers came out to the table within a few minutes and the food wasn't far behind. Despite the quick service, the food wasn't what we had come to expect based on past Italian dining experiences. Seafood Appetizer (4/5): I enjoyed the seafood, it was fresh and tasty. My husband felt that some of the seafood was tough Pesto Pasta (3/5): The quality of the pesto pasta seemed inconsistent. My husband's food came out hot and had a great pesto flavor. The rest of the group's food did not come out warm and had almost no flavor. I'm not sure what happened with the pasta, but even after my husband tried my pasta he agreed that it wasn't great.

The Spaghetti Bolognese was tasteless and would have been better if from The Olive Garden in the US. And let's not get started on the JOKE of an Octopus Salad that we never even got to finish because she took it away before we were done. She didn't even ask by the way! The one down the street at La Posada is WAY superb. If you go to Corniglia, don't waste your money or time on this joke of a restaurant, the view will trick you... don't let that fool you. This place is horrible.
