While on a family trip to London we stepped out of a rainstorm and into this fantastic little piece of Italy. There were 10 of us, with no reservations, but they immediately pulled some tables together for us. It's not like the place was empty. It was fairly busy. We just got lucky. Videm was our waitress, and she was superb. Timely, friendly, Unobtrusive and informative. She made recommendations when asked and explained to some of us what some of the dishes were. I had an antipasto misto for an appetizer and it was excellent. Fantastic Italian salami. My wife had the insalata caprese appetizer and she raved about the mozzarella. For dinner I had suprema di pollo farcita, which was an excellent chicken breast breaded and filled with Parma ham and cheese. I can't express enough how tender, juicy, and delicious it was. Absolutely bursting with flavor. The portions were excellent (too much for most of us), but when Videm brought the dessert cart over there were so many delicious looking choices we had to try. We had a flan that was small (thankfully) but good. We shared 2 bottles of an excellent Lambrusco Frizzante (a very sweet and slightly sparkling white wine) with our parents. Another thing that did not go unnoticed was how well Videm kept some of our thirstier relatives stocked with water. Not normally served with dinner in London unless asked for, it can sometimes be hard to come by. Not here, where one of our guests had 8 glasses! I surveyed our group after the meal and told them I was thinking about writing this review. We were all in agreement that the food was either good or great, and the service was superb. Probably the best meal we had during our 10 days in London. Definitely check this place out if you are in or near Bloomsbury. Close to Russell Square. read more
