Really beautiful setting and with solid Italian food in the beautiful village of Todos Santos. The owner is a beautiful soul and the restaurant was full of regulars including a table of foul mouth Canadians lol. Food wise it Some of the best Bruschetta I've had. The farm to table food here is so good. Pizza was light and flaky, different than a normal pizza. Pastas were cooked too perfect. The server told me her favorite meat was a Cornish hen and that it was way better than the filet so i ordered. It was my least fav thing we ate. Over cooked to death with half cooked mash potatoes. Also they have a dog or 2 from the owner roaming around and even though I am a huge dog person having a dog beg at your feet half your meal is not my favorite part of the restaurant's in Todos lol. read more

We went there with a group of friends and had the best meal ever for me. I'm a celiac and they went out of their way for me to have safe meal. I was going to have pasta but I say on the specials of that day the filet mignon it was the best meal I have ever eaten. The filet had no fat or gristle that really grosses me out. I had the salad with it. I give this restaurant the highest score there is available. And the rest of our group of 6 all said their meals were fantastic. 2 Fettuccine's with clams, 1 lasagna, 1calazone and fettuccine with shrimp. Thank you for a fabulous meal!!!! read more

Very good food, decent prices, and good service. The location is on top of a hill overlooking the gardens to the surrounding mountains and down to the town of Todos Santos. Great views - especially prior to sunset with the great colors in the evening sky. And unlike places with ocean views at sunset, when the sun goes down you see the lights of the town (vs just a dark ocean). You drive up the typical dirt road, park it the dirt parking lot, walk up the path up a slight hill to get to the restaurant. So dont wear your evening finest ;). Having read glowing reviews when they first opened last year and getting a "you must absolutely go" from our VRBO host, we skipped one of our favorite places on this trip and hit Il Giardino. Our timing was right because we just beat the rush that required others to wait for a table. The specialty is Italian, so I would stick with that. The menu is small, but large enough to please anyone. They also have a few daily specials listed on a chalkboard - including a cocktail of the day. We ordered a couple of cocktails - I got the special cocktail of the day, a Matcha Martini. It was quite good. We ordered a bottle of wine for our dinner - figuring we would drink half and take the rest back with us. Salad and entrees followed. Again, all very good. During Covid I think they take mostly solid precautions but could improve - more in the Covid summary below. So why 4 stars vs 5 - basically 3 reasons: - service was haphazard - for example, we had to ask for water 3 times before getting it. There seem to be confusion regarding who was doing what. - tables were not spread out much for Covid. It is a small place, so they have limited options, but it was interesting having a table basically right behind me. - after all the glowing reviews, I guess I expected a little more. So while I enjoyed our experience there, it didn't live up to the buildup. Will we return? Definitely. The food and view make it worthwhile. It is my favorite Italian in the Todos area? Not quite, that would be Romantica. But it is near the top of the list. COVID-19 OUTDOOR DINING SUMMARY All dining here is completely outdoors - basically a roof over our heads and wide open on 3.5 sides. They check temperature at the hostess stand as well as request that you use hand sanitizer. They also have a wet pad area to step on before coming in. All staff wears masks and you must wear a mask when entering. That said, the tables are a little close together for Covid times, they need to improve that. Also, everyone (and I mean everyone) removed their masks, often before they even sat down. And finally, those waiting for a table sort of gather at the hostess stand (which is across the path from one of the tables) or along the path from the parking area. COVID-19 Safety Precautions - Staff all wearing masks and gloves - All dining is outside - Customer temperature check before being seated - Customers requested to wear masks to enter and requested to when ordering (though few did) - Hand sanitizer use required when entering - Wet mat to step on before entering main dining area - Take-away service available In summary, very nice Italian food with a great view. Would we return? Definitely yes, but might wait until I get the Covid vaccine. Come here for the best Italian in TS! You're up on top of a hill overlooking gardens and down to the beach, the sunset views are delightful. The food is the charts good, pasta is all great. We love the pastas Limone and the Bolognese. The pizzas are all great too. We start with the bread with 3 dipping sauces and the focaccia (carb lovers!). Don't skip the tiramisu or the crème brulee. Il Giardino is a special restaurant, one of the best in Todos Santos by far. It's more than just the wonderful view and amazing ocean vistas at sunset. The first time we went chef-owner, Daniela, came by our table and recommended the daily special as a starter. She cooked in Florence and Monte Carlo but is a local who returned with her family.The special? Focaccia - a super thin crust pizza topped with Marlin sashimi, and thin-sliced tomatoes and red onions plus basil, mixed greens and capers. Love capers! Dreamily unique. Words don't do justice to freshness of this Marlin salad dancing on a super-thin, crisp crust. Even the leftovers we had the day after were better than most focaccia you'll find. The wood-fired oven adds such special flavor! My meat lasagna was also top notch. My gf's fettuccine gamberi pasta was off the charts - the white wine sauce was heavenly. She was delighted to order it again when we came back the 4th time! Other visits presented fabulous cuisine as well: polilito de leches - a baby chicken roasted perfectly, a delicious pizza appetizer, and an eggplant lasagna, which was a divine special I hope to encounter again. The one time we had room for dessert, we had the creme brûlée de lavanda. It was also divine. Il Giardino offers drinks and fantastic wines - always inquire about the specials. Great Mexican wines especially. We had a red the first time, a special, and I should have captured the name. It was spectacular. Last time we had the Lagrimas Chardonnay and it went so well with the food! Much better than your overly buttery oaky chardonnays in "Alta California." Il Giardino is not cheap, bring pesos. But it is off the chart good. Farm and ocean fresh ingredients well prepared. The staff always makes you feel welcome. The tables are all outdoors and most offer the celebrated vistas. Il Giardino was not on our immediate radar during a recent trip to Todos Santos, but following a strong recommendation from our local host, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is quite new so we were hesitant, but we can unabashedly say this was the best meal we've had in Todos Santos. From the delightfully fresh Mediterranean salad to the homemade pastas, each dish was delictably crafted with care. But it was their homemade bread that my boyfriend could not stop talking about for the rest of our trip! Giordano's service was incredible and we received our plates within 10 minutes of our order. The ambiance was wonderful, with beautifully lit and decorated outdoor seating. We will be sure to come back on our next trip to Todos Santos. Don't miss this place! read more
