Interrupted me at brunch with a phone call ... where I stated that I was not able to have a conversation and the forward me a written document on the diagnosed issue and a general proposal and estimate. Later in the day i followed up to see where we were at .. and instead of answering along the lines of .. I can get it to you on Monday or so ... he/she text pivots and blurts 500K ... out of context... and its seems to be nonsensical offer on the property to be serviced... that is listed for sale at 930K. Mentally questionable and appears to not understand real estate or reality. Does not indicate lucidity or credibility. Value is not likely and moreover does not seem to be accredited or bonded. Turned out they'd…read morenever been anchored to studs, which was a real concern since they're solid wood shelves meant to hold real weight. Jesse walked me through the scope of work upfront and we moved forward. The job wasn't simple -- the wall behind the shelves had herringbone tile. Jesse opened it up, installed proper backing so the shelves could be bolted in securely, then redid the herringbone tile and matched the existing grout so well you can't tell any repair was ever done. That's exactly the outcome you hope for with tile work. While he was in there, he also fixed a leaking tub spout that required opening another section of wall for plumbing work, then patched and painted it back to seamless. Jesse's attention to detail was outstanding throughout. I'll be calling him for any future work at the house.

It was a bit of a tricky job due to the trim being arched, which meant it had to be traced and cut appropriately. I had the pleasure of contacting David, whom I asked several questions of how he would go about the process and I felt very comfortable with everything he walked through. He scheduled the work for a couple weeks out, text notifications let me know when he would be arriving and he was able to complete everything within a few hours. David cut the replacement beautifully using PVC so there is no maintenance on it in the future and caulked / sealed up all points of exposure to rain. He was very efficient, kind, and answered all the questions I had since I'm learning to do these kinds of tasks on my own. The pricing was extremely competitive and there's no question that I'll have David back pretty soon for other jobs around my home that I'm not comfortable handling. This is a story of a leaky shower. After literally years of hiring various well regarded plumbers…read moreand handymen to try to remedy it, it always leaked again - usually in less than a year. When mold showed through the ceiling of the room below the shower and the mold remediation contractor cut through the ceiling it was clear we needed to consider replacing the shower and much of the subfloor. Serious perusing of reviews on yelp led me to JRW. Just one phone call made me hopeful. First they re- grouted the shower pan/wall connection so it could be used until they had an opening in their schedule a few weeks away to replace the shower. Finally the big day came. Joel (the owner) sent me photos (it was a tenant occupied home) everyday and explained every step of the way what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He respected my decisions. He also picked out materials subject to my approval - and I always said yes because his choices were excellent as well as in budget. I had been concerned of the impact of a big project with workers in and out every day for a week or so on the tenants. I needn't have worried, the day after it was complete the tenant emailed me unsolicited and said that the workers did a great job: excellent workmanship, seemed trustworthy, respectful of the tenants and house, cleaned up everything and though they hope no more issues arise, they said if workers are ever needed there again they would hope it's the crew from JRW. Two small issues arose unrelated to this project (sticky door and gutter issue) and Joel took care of them for a minor charge. Most mom and pop landlords will tell you- the dreaded call from a tenant that something is broken causes you a few minutes of angst trying to figure out who to call to get it fixed. Now that I know about JRW, I won't feel that worry anymore.

They charged me $2200 to assemble my furniture and told me they weren't leaving until I do. I paid $750 already..which was too much for the job. They never went over hourly rate or pay with me initially. Then they called police on me and lied to the officer to say I wouldn't pay. I paid an additional $400. They also told me after calling police they weren't going to leave my home. These people are vultures. Beware of calling these people. They will cheat you out of money. If I could give no stars I would. They also kept taking breaks and smoking outside of my home and went to my garage. My autistic son has asthma. Never asked permission. Just took complete advantage of me. I was in tears after this.
