If you value your life and you are hell bent on coming here stay on them because if you don't they will forget all about you. And, before you ask I have one of the best insurances in the country, so getting paid was not a problem. In closing there are too many sick people and not enough doctors to take care of all of them and it's so easy at RUSH to fall through the cracks. Every doctor or clinic I've ever dealt with has at least a short list of referrals when they can't help directly. This felt less like healthcare and more like "if you're not paying us, we're not interested." Not helpful at all. Would not recommend if you're looking for guidance or support navigating care.

Also, they flagged my husband's card as fraudulent and I was unable to take an Uber home and a patient gave me a ride home. I protested and was told that this is there charge. I asked to discuss this with the doctor and they told me he no longer works there!! Every single interaction I had with their admin & medical staff was kind and informative. They made me feel taken care of and the friendly/calm demeanor of the nurses & other medical staff helped me feel less nervous going into surgery. I decided to leave this review in case it helps anyone else feel less nervous but also because I truly think they're trying to do better, or at least I hope that's the case. I can't imagine having had a better team working to bring me back to full health. I was in a bike accident back in December that severely dislocated my thumb. An ER doctor set/splinted it, and I went off to hike mountains across the world. When I came back to Chicago, a month after the accident and "re-set", it was still swollen, intensely painful, and unusable. I looked up Dr. Cohen with some Googling, and was immediately set up with an appointment. The entire staff at Rush Medical was professional, timely, and efficient, much like Dr. Cohen himself. The facility is gorgeous and easy to navigate, as well. He quickly assessed the damage and set me up for surgery, which, to my understanding, was fairly complex, involving re-arranging ligaments. As a side-note, they had originally scheduled my surgery for Water Tower Place, but Dr. Cohen's team realized that my insurance wouldn't apply there, and re-scheduled very quickly for the Rush facility, which my insurance did cover. Surgery went extremely well-- great facility, great anesthesiologist, great nurses, and of course, Dr. Cohen is a fantastic surgeon. He and his staff set a very clear post-op recovery plan and were very communicative, making sure that I knew what needed to happen and when. I'm back to full use of my thumb, which is hugely important to me as a very active person and frankly, borderline miraculous given the amount of time that elapsed between injury and actually fixing the problem. Dr. Cohen and his staff never wasted my time, were clear, friendly, and honestly, I can not fathom having had a better team taking care of me. Highly recommended.

By the time I drove into the city to see him, I had already seen 2-3 other doctors regarding my severe ulnar-sided left wrist pain. Each previous doctor I was seen by told me that I had tendinitis and that I needed PT. I knew what tendinitis felt like, and this wasnt it. So, when I made an appointment with Dr. Cohen, I was excited at the prospect of finally finding out what was going on with my wrist. Well, he spent a total of about 5-10 minutes with me, eventually telling me there was nothing he could do for me that the other doctors hadnt already discussed. I was crushed. I could not believe he wasnt listening to me. I may just have been another patient to him, but this seriously affecting my life. I felt as if he blew me off. After his appointment, I went to a local doctor in Munster, IN. She was terrific, and listened to what I had to say. She ordered an MRI Arthrogram and BOOM, a tear in my TFCC was discovered. She performed the surgery for me. Im not trying to say Dr Cohen is a bad doctor. I just wish he would have listened to me and not treated me like I had no idea what my body was telling me. It was an extremely disheartening appointment.
