A building onsite that wasn't clearly marked looks trashy and need of a makeover. The geese seemed to have taken over the playground and lawn so it wasn't a place I would advise kids to run around. You'll find lots of pieces of equipment in close proximity to each other. There is also a shelter, a basketball court, and a smaller kid's playground that is fenced to keep the kids from running out into the road. In the center of the park is a baseball field, a shelter, and a second smaller playground. Parking is most available in the center part. The south of the park extends back passed a picnic area and some less visitor activity portions of the park. Apparently the park extends to the river, but I didn't see any paths, especially for vehicles, to take there. A solid addition to the city's park system. Review #2760

The shared space of the Voight Park and Softball Complex and the Monticello City Pool has a nice…read morevariety of things for visitors to do. The entrance is on the north side of the complex where 2nd St extends south of Ohio St. There is a basketball court on the north side of the parking lot while the pool, playground, and softball fields are to the south. The pool is closest to the parking area and you enter through the building to get to the fenced in pool. Not a lot of slides or fun extras here, but the pool is a decent size and has life guards on duty during their open hours. To the east of the pool is the softball complex where multiple fields are nestled together with lights and most of the features you expect. To the south (you have to walk to here) are the playground, a shelter, a beach volleyball court, and a workout station. Sorry if you have to haul a lot of food to the shelter....no vehicles allowed. But the shelter and most of the equipment looked in good condition. The workout area needed some weeding to bring it up to par, but otherwise seemed functional. Lots to do and fairly well maintained, this park is a place to check out for some low cost fun in Monticello. Review #2758

Great resource for students. Not for staff…read more Staff can pay for memberships to the CoRec, but I no longer recommend it for staff. In the fall of 2025, something changed. The corec used to have a family locker room. The name of the family locker room has been changed. It is a small change, but indicative of the overall policies changing. In addition, the pool hours changed to be completely unusable for families. I used to give my son swim lessons at the co-rec, pools, but now, he cannot go because the pools are open at such weird times. Moreover, the pool workers are no longer friendly to families. When my son was 4, they let me take him in the hot tub for up to 5 minutes. It was a nice treat for my son after he did swim lessons. At 5 years old, they said he could stay for up to 15 minutes. I never let him go above 8 or 9 minutes out of caution. I was always with him. The last time I went to the co-rec, my son was 5 this fall, we got in the hot tub like normal. We were told to leave the hot tub because kids under 15 are not allowed. I pointed to THEIR SIGN hanging up that says 5 and up. They said, "I'm sorry that policy is changing. We are no longer allowing kids in the hot tubs." I said that we would stop going in the hot tub out when the sign and the website changed. Then I had 10 lifeguards escort us out of the pool area. My son was not loud or splashing or rambunctious in the hot tub. He was chilling and calm. Yet they insisted the new policy was no children at all. Shortly thereafter, they changed the pool schedule so families cannot use any of the pools. By changing the pool schedule to be unfriendly to families, they also make it significantly harder for students to use it as well. I stopped paying for the corec and take my son elsewhere to swim--places that are family friendly.

There is a hiking trail (2/3 mile) that loops a photo worthy lake with a fountain and numerous gardens lining the shores. There is also a small playground south of the sports complex that is a little distant, but keeps the little ones from any disturbance from the ball games. In the middle is a central building for concessions and restrooms. Near that is a rentable shelter. Oh, and though I didn't get a photo, there is a swimming pool on the west end of the complex, but I don't believe that entrance connects to the central part of the park. Review #1071

There's a remarkable and historical foot suspension bridge that spans Deer Creek and connects Riley…read morePark to downtown Delphi. (I'm only reviewing the bridge as Ken has done a great job of reviewing the park.). The footbridge was first built in 1908 but has been replaced multiple times due to flooding. There was no bridge between the flood of 1913 and the rebuild in 1989. Todays bridge is suspended by steel cables and the walk way and rails are wood. You can see remarkable, majestic views of Deer Creek from the bridge. I have to admit, the bridge is a little wobbly when crossing by foot, especially if others are crossing. The bridge is part of the Riley-City Trail, one of many trails in Delphi. To access the bridge, park in Riley Park and there is a tree covered wood walkway to the bridge. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Riley Park (and the Annex across the street) provides nearly all you could want from a park. The…read moremain park has activities including baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, a hiking trail for walkers, and a playground for kids. There is also a gazebo and a large shelter/pavilion and several landscaped gardens. The park lies on the south side of Deer Creek and has an elevated boardwalk that leads to a footbridge that crosses over. There is plenty of parking and quite a bit of shade along the walking trail. Across the highway is the Riley Park Annex. Although it practically doubles the park size, it is less developed. It does have a small playground (swings) and a skate park, but most of the area is set aside for soccer fields. There isn't a water feature here, so on days like my visit, the park was pretty empty due to the heat/humidity. And be careful pulling out onto the highway since visibility is not the greatest for seeing oncoming traffic if you are crossing the road. Review #2789

There was a staircase to view it closer and the stairs were a little sketchy. The beach area was pretty wide and we found space. They have a little snack area and a dive center. They also have an inflatable obstacle course for purchase. The restrooms were messy and smelled. The beach was clean and they had trash cans. The quarry water was clear and the water was nice. They have primitive camp sites and electrical sites. We saw that most of the electrical sites seem to have full time residents there. Overall it's a great spot to check out and relax at.
