Apparently, that was enough to earn a full time security escort. Every aisle I went to, the guard was right behind me. So I finally asked, "Are you following me? Do I look like a shoplifter?" Silence. Stuttering. No eye contact. I told the manager it's pretty bold to treat paying customers like criminals and still expect them to spend money. They lost a sale today. More importantly, they lost a loyal customer. Keep the groceries. I'll take my business somewhere that won't treat me like a thief.

It's bright, clean, well stocked, organized, and with several parking spaces out front; the best part is that it's open 24/7. I can find many of my favorite items here: Gardenia bread, Melona ice cream, yogurt drinks, seaweed snacks, and frozen dumplings at cheap prices. Their produce looks fresh and their meat section doesn't smell. Staff are helpful but don't look too happy. In the back left corner there is a decent size household section. New arrivals and best selling items are marked with signs COOL! There are two working price scanners. Many cashier lines are open and there's no waiting during the daytime on weekdays. I had only seen Gmart as a typical Korean grocery store where I could go if I wanted Korean specialty items. It's difficult to get here if you don't have your own car, because the jeeps aren't running during the Covid-19 crisis and they don't allow Tricycles inside Clark Freeport. They have their own private parking lot. There's usually no lines outside at night but you'll still need to d deal with the lines at the cashier, they're slow as molasses. At the door they'll check your temperature and spritz your hands with alcohol, masks are mandatory for entrance. They have a decent sized meat and seafood section with good variety. My friend also pointed out that they have the cheapest price for printer paper around, so we picked up a box. They have a separate room for their kitchen and table ware off to the left of the store. My friend was right, the prices for imported fruits and veggies are much cheaper here than the Philippine chain grocery stores, plus the produce looks much fresher and in better condition. It's smaller than the mother store on Fil Am Friendship Fwy, but newer and cleaner. Guard happily opens and closes door for you. Friendly cashiers greet as you enter and leave. Store has a strong aircon, and is open 24/7. Mainly a Korean grocery store with some imported American products. Their fruits and vegetables look much better than Puregold a few doors down. Majority of the items don't have price tags on the packaging nor on the shelves: a major pet peeve of mine, BUT they do have a price check machine in the back. Found some reasonably priced eggs and a BOGO section in the front. I would come back IF I was in the area and Puregold didn't have what I needed OR if Puregold is closed, since I'm Mart II is open 24/7.

They're well stocked when it comes to canned goods, albeit a bit pricey. Fresh fruits and veggies are now available, which you can find in the refrigerated section. There's a deli and a grocery section with exotic spice packets and lots of imported goods from the US and Europe. Make sure you're wearing a mask before you enter. At the door the guard will check your temp and spritz your hands with alcohol. Currently there's no limit to the number of customers that can enter at one time; you will definitely need to remind the other shoppers to keep their distance. What irritates me about this place is that many items are missing price tags. I come here mainly for their baked goods and specialty items. I'm looking forward to trying out food from their cafe.

We go there mainly for bread and chicken, the last time we saw Tillamook Ice Cream from the states for the first time, unfortunately it had been thawed and refrozen so many times it was no longer Ice Cream but Iced Cream, it had ice crystals throughout, such a disappointment, also they had very little bottled water. The person doing the orderting and logistics here needs to be fired and they need to hire someone that can do the job. The store even with all its promotions and such actually has no concern for the quality of the merchandise and no sense of customer service or making sure their customers get the freshest and best merchandise, they just want to make $$. If it wasn't for a couple of items we do like we would never go there again.

I happened to pass by this tiny Indian grocer in Paseo de Magallanes called Incredible India Food Depot, and it is packed floor to ceiling with food--spices, canned vegetables, curious-looking sugary Indian snacks, several types of dals and legumes, chutneys and preserves, and even Maggi's Indian version of instant noodles called "Multi Grainz" which claims to be healthier (it was a bit bland, if you're wondering, but definitely tastes of Indian spices). They also have ready to eat and frozen samosas, breads, and spring rolls, if you want a quick Indian food fix. I usually frequent Indian grocers for raw ingredients because they're usually more affordable than some large supermarkets, AND you can buy some of these in bulk. Since I'm vegan, some of us need a constant supply of chickpea flour (called besan, which can be purchased here really cheap in a hefty-sized bag), affordable TVP (textured vegetable protein), dals, spices, and the fairy dust of vegan cuisine, kala namak, or black Indian salt that has a distinct, egg-y flavor.
