Me and the hubby have been going to Image Eyes for years now. We first came here because of the great Yelp reviews and now after going there for years, we know why they have such rave reviews. I first want to say that Dr. Stephen Brockbank is an excellent optometrist. He really takes his time to carefully examine the eye health of each patient. When they upgraded their eye pressure equipment to the latest and greatest a little over a year ago, they caught unusually high eye pressure in both of us. It prompted further testing. For my husband, it turned out that he happened to have thick corneas that gave a misleadingly high eye pressure reading and it wasn't a problem after all. For me on the other hand, when he took a closer look, they noticed that apparently I had a strangely shaped optic nerve that could be an early sign of glaucoma. I initially shrugged it off until the doc explained to me how serious glaucoma could really be! In it's advanced stages, it leads to irreversible blindness! Ah! I now see an ophthalmologist in addition to seeing Dr. Brockbank and my eye health is being closely monitored on an annual basis. I have Dr. Stephen Brockbank to thank for being so thorough! In addition to the excellent medical services, Image Eyes has an amazing selection of fashion forward glasses. I definitely don't feel like a nerd when I'm wearing the latest trends from Image Eyes. The staff are super attentive and readily provide honest feedback on how different frames highlight the best features of your individual face. They are also free to step back and let you decide for yourself if that's what you prefer. Personally, it's pretty nice to have staff willing to provide honest feedback on frames when glasses shopping in general is difficult due to not being able to see when you're wearing non-prescription frames. When your new frames arrive, the employees on the retail side of things are so detailed when it comes to ensuring your frames will fit your face and be comfortable to wear. In addition, this convenient downtown location means that I can easily stop in anytime to get my frames adjusted. I will say that in general, their frames can be on the pricey side. It helps that we always have great vision insurance and a well funded HSA. If you're price conscious or have a less than ideal vision insurance provider, focus on the frames selection on the green painted wall. The frames on the green painted wall are all discounted in some way. Another thing to pay attention to are their store wide sales. I'm on their email list and got a notification over the summer for their store wide sale. I showed up and managed to snag a pair of super fly Ray Ban sunglasses with all the extra upgrades for $300! What a steal! Anyway, I couldn't be happier with Image Eyes, and gladly recommend anyone to check them out! read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but I wanted to take a moment because of how impressed I was from the staff at Image Eyes Optical. I am in town from New York City with my son and we're only here overnight. We are staying at the hotel a few minutes away and needed to get my son's glasses repaired and mine tightened. We got to the store just 10 minutes before they were closing, and the staff literally swooped in to help us. As a New Yorker, I am pretty spoiled by the options for eyewear, but the selection and curation of lenses was extraordinary. In fact, although I had not planned on buying anything, I saw a pair of sunglasses that I fell in love with. Despite the fact that they could have easily made the sale, they were very honest with me when I told them that I wanted to convert them to reading glasses. (Apparently, my prescription would not work with the shape of the glasses.) I was truly impressed with their honesty and willingness to pass up an easy sale. On top of that, they refused to let me pay them for fixing our glasses. Unbelievable service and care. I will be back in town in a few weeks and will definitely head back to the store. Worth every penny. It had been eleven years since I bought new eyeglasses from them (which I wear every day); they are in great shape, but my prescription changed from bad to awful. . I bought several cheap glasses from other places but the lenses weren't as thin and nice-looking as Image Eyes.' I don't like change, but this was needed. My new frames/lenses/prescription are awesome. Dr. Brockbank's exam was thorough. He worked with my other optometrists/ophthalmologists to check records, etc. I'll check out other frames at their original Sugarhouse location soon. read more

A consultation at Image Eyes is a pleasure. The staff are supurb at helping customers pick the right frames. They care and are honest about how you and your frames look. That's a big deal for those of us with poor vision who can't see how new frames look without our glasses. I've been a customer since the 1980s. Attention to detail, personalized attention, technical expertise, fun fashion, and quality are hallmarks of service at Image Eyes. It's a class act. Can they be pricy? Absolutely. Are they worth it? Absolutely. You get what you pay for. I recently moved out of state and got new glasses from a different shop. Things weren't quite right with my new glasses, but I couldn't figure it out. I stopped at Image Eyes on a trip through SLC. The same staff who have been there for years greeted me by name and helped me figure out that my new lenses did not match my new prescription. Dr. Brockbank and the team @ Image Eyes Optical truly made today's experience appealing The young lady taking the preliminary exam and the Doctors' professionalism were unparalleled (Especially his insights with LASIK). The frosting with today's delight was Erick and Leslie. I needed my glasses replaced and these two went above and beyond. Sporting proper protection during C19, I was treated with respect and learned about the varieties within the spectrum of my lens colorations (there are many more choices than before). First found Image Eyes in college 25 years ago. Being in the military I've received a lot of free eye glasses and even expensive ones. There's a huge difference between a guy doing a job and craftsmanship. From the lenses to the frames, these guys have nailed it and finally, I can see. My vision is pretty complicated. My old glasses were heavy on my nose bridge because of thickness, poor quality lenses that scratched easily, off for the center of focus and miserable to wear. After trying the bifocal and transition lenses, I ended up having lenses replaced in two old frames and a new pair of frames and glasses. I guess I just don't want to not be able to see again! Besides, they also recommended a business to repair my favorite frames which were broken by another company trying to get lenses into them. wherever I live, I'll always work with this company. read more

As a lifetime four eyes I've seen more than my fair share of optometrist, glasses racks, and ladies at the front of the store who are suppose to find the magical pair of frames, so I am more than qualified to dub Image Eyes as the BEST place to buy your glasses in the entire Utah area. I do not say this lightly. This place epitomizes the "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" five star rating. I won't bore you with the long saga describing how I came upon the ideal frames with the perfect lenses, but I will tell you this place goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy with everything. Everyone there will share an honest and straightforward opinion and give you useful advise. I never felt rushed to make a decision and came back several (i'm taking like 4/5 times) before selecting the frames I bought. All the best customer service you could ask for AND the best selection of frames I've seen (better than any chain retail store and other optometry offices). I felt like they were very much focused on selling you the most expensive service possible and not really providing good service. My contact fitting fee was $60 with little to no effort on their part and they still ended up being very uncomfortable. Additionally, when I ultimately received my glasses, I was not given transitions lenses as I had requested. The staff seemed friendly but the end result was quite poor.
