Based on the photos, it looks like they used to be located at a different place. This review is for their new location on 27th South. The photos that are posted here are definitely out of date so keep that in mind if you're trying to go here! I definitely have more experience with the downtown location but I come to this location on occasion to have my lenses replaced as part of my lens warranty. When this location first opened, it was advertised as the "Sugarhouse" location. I hate to get nit picky but, this location isn't exactly what I would call Sugarhouse. It's definitely misleading to call it the Sugarhouse location in my opinion. Also, when they first opened, they advertised the lens replacements as having a one hour turn around. Sure, the first time we came it was about an hour to have our lenses replaced but since then, they tell us "a couple" hours which usually turns into "same day" service. Maybe this service is being affected by the pandemic but still misleading to call it a one hour service. Another gripe I have is that ever since the pandemic started, this location does not take the COVID safety protocols as seriously as the downtown location. They advertise their service as "appointment only" pretty widely however the last time I showed up for my appointment, there were a bunch of walk ins there for some reason. They even let the walk ins wait inside until the appointments were finished. What's the point of scheduling an appointment for me when in reality I could show up when it's convenient for me and not deal with a crowd of strangers during a pandemic? It just doesn't seem like they're really enforcing this whole appointment only strategy. When I asked if it was normally that crowded first thing in the morning, they confirmed that yes it was. I'm thinking then why did they schedule me to come in first thing in the morning? I would have preferred to come in later that day but just came in when the person on the phone told me to. Also, you would think that this whole appointment only situation would mean that they're better poised to plan for the services they're scheduling you for. Meaning, if they could do a one hour turn around before when I just walked in off the street that now when they're scheduling me for a service that they could plan even better for it. Maybe scheduling it when the glasses technician is there and available to do the work. Maybe even also reserving an appointment for me to come back an hour later. Or at least asking me if I want to do that. But no, both times this summer when we've come in for our appointments for lens replacements, they have to squeeze us in for a few hours later, nothing close to a one hour service. On top of that, every time I've been in here since the pandemic started, some employee is frantically putting their mask back on when I walk in the door. The first time I observed this, the employee was sitting alone but the last time I observed this, there was another employee and a customer in the store at the time. Not a great look for a business! All in all, I would highly recommend the downtown location over this one. They seem to have their act together a little bit more and take the safety precautions more seriously. Also, I'm pretty sure this location doesn't take insurance since they don't have an eye doctor on site. You'd have to confirm that for yourself but they definitely don't take my insurance here but they do at the downtown location. read more

I love getting my frames here and have been going here for over ten years. I wanted to make sure I wore fun glasses once I gave up on wearing contacts. Their frames are not your average frames and you will always get compliments when you wear them. They also have very good options for lenses and I have always been happy with my progressive lenses from Image Eyes. Layla was a great help today, but everyone there will take great care of you. From Germany, Berlin, hand made from acetate. Named after a pre-school that used to occupy the space now over run with edgy artists who work to make the face an art form. You go in so often they know you by name. And you wish you had all the money in the world to buy all the cool frames you think you want. Really, honey, I need a pair with polarized sunglass lenses, and a pair for after work and one set for the weekend. What about a pair for that cute white jacket I have? Don't you think these would go good with denim? Really, no really, I can't decide there are so many frames in so many colors. My head is spinning, swirling in plastic, steel and titanium. Look you can bend these around your finger and they spring back. Do I want to be trendy or modern? Can I just work here on the weekends so I can get a new pair a week? This place is awesome. I recently received a new prescription for eyeglasses and was looking for a place that had unique, different, and nicer glasses. I tried a couple places around the valley and nothing stood out. A friend recommended I try to this place and I'm glad i did. As soon as you walk through the door you feel welcome and comfortable. They ask you what you're looking for and then bring you several eyeglasses to try on. I didn't feel pressured and it feels like they let you choose your own glasses instead of trying to sell you something more expensive. One thing to know is that this is a brand name glasses shop so most of the eyeglasses I tried on where around 300- 500 dollars. But they do have a great selection and you usually get your eyeglasses within a week. I will definitely be back for another pair in a few months. read more

Love, love, love! I ended up buying two pairs of glasses from Image Eyes and I can't speak highly enough of these guys. It's a family owned / family run business with really great service. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The staff didn't even think twice to put up with me coming in about 5 different times trying on the same pair of glasses before committing to them. The staff will help you find the perfect pair of frames for your face shape and personality. I can't say enough about these guys. Great frame selection (WAY better and varied than your normal optical shop selection), great staff, great service. The frames are a bit more expensive than the 'normal' optical shops, but it also guarantees a much more interesting and quality selection of frames. One thing to note, the store does not do eye exams, only frames, so you'll have to bring your Rx in so they can process the pair of frames/lenses you want. I won't be going to any other optical shop as long as I'm in Salt Lake. And when I win the lottery, I'm going here to buy a different pair for every day of the month! read more

High volume of designer frames. Most are quite expensive, but that is expected with the brands they carry. The staff is very friendly and makes sure not to ignore you. Thank you Layla! I went to Image Eyes Optical last year to get some new glasses. I bought a pair of frames, and decided to move forward getting the lenses at Costco. Costco created a huge hassle for me because my frames were clear, and "not as durable" so they refused to put my lenses in the frame I bought from Image Eyes. I went back to Image Eyes and they were so understanding about it. I ended up having to get my frames and lenses from Costco, and I didn't like them at all compared to my cute clear frames from Image Eyes. One year later (today) I came back to Image Eyes and I found not one, but TWO pairs of glasses that I really loved. I am so pleased with the staff there. I probably tried on 50 pairs of glasses and they were so patient and helpful with helping me find my favorite two. As a college student I realize that it is not the most affordable purchase. However, because of the service they offer, the amazing selection they have, and the confidence I have in my new glasses, I will go back every time I need a new pair. The owner told me that it wasn't a problem and generously continued to pick me out a variety of frames that he knew would fit my face well (something I have no idea how to do on my own). I purchased a pare of glasses from Image Eye 5 years ago. I barely wore them because my prescription had changed rather quickly. I over paid, it was $600, but I thought I was really sharp in my new FACE FACE Frames and the service I received from the owners daughter made me feel justified in spending so much. Well this go around I took a less expensive route and went to Costco for the new lenses replacement. However, they could not guarantee that the frames wouldn't brake during replacement. So I returned to none other than IMAGE EYES OPTICAL. BIG MISTAKE! During my visit with Chris, who turned out to be an owner, she was snotty, rude, belligerent, indignant, condescending. Which definitely are all poor service characteristics. This response came as a result of me questioning the replacement price and stating that I had used the glasses very little because my prescription had changed. All thought this was not her problem, I did expect that she justify and validate the premium cost for the lenses replacement. I also shared with her my competitive bids. She did neither, but decided to treat me poorly. Her only argument to justify her position, is that I have to decide what I want. I had already explained what I wanted; it was a good deal on some great lenses. Not a lot to ask for as a repeat customer. Well this definitely incited her, and when she couldn't close the deal she became increasingly disrespectful. I suppose my response in calling her an F'n B, when she told me to take my business to Costco, was out of line. However, why was it so surprising when she had caused the negative interaction? It never ceases to amaze me when someone's complete disrespect and poor customer service becomes my problem. Particularly when I reacted to HER un-pleasantries, then I became the bad guy! Needless to say, I approached who I thought was the owner, but later discovered it was her husband. So that didn't go over well. In fact I was chased to my car by both of them. Not out of the store BUT TO MY CAR. Being berated and called "A loser". And being told to "get the hell out of there".....obviously me getting in my car and leaving was not enough action for them to understand I was leaving and NEVER coming back!!! And yes I responded to his incensed berating of me and flipping off with the same level of respect! Do ya blame me? Well if not wanting to take their belligerence and mistreatment, and fighting back is deemed a "Loser", so be it. I will take that any day, rather than take such disrespect..... Long ago when I was a young one, I didn't mind getting cheap glasses at America's Best or even Costco. I figured that I would break/lose/??? them because that's just what I'd do with all of my sunglasses. But then I grew up and I decided that it was okay to spend more on my glasses because I was going to be a responsible adult and take care of them. Enter Image Eyes. As everyone else has mentioned, yes, they're more expensive. But think of it this way: If you wear your glasses every day, or even a few times a week, it's worth spending the money because they'll last longer. Their selection is phenomenal. They have absolutely beautiful frames for every type of person and face. I have this problem. It's called being Asian and having a really small nose bridge. That means a lot of glasses don't fit my face, especially the style I like. Maybe I don't want to have to wear plain wire frame glasses. That's what I find at most places. Here, I can get cute frames that actually fit! The second best part of this shop? The staff actually helps you pick out frames that work with your face shape. When I walk into a shop with walls on walls of glasses, I get overwhelmed. Where do I start? How do I even know what works for me? At Image Eyes, I just sat down and the gal walked around the store, picking up about 15-20 different frames that she thought might work for me. Did I love every single pair? Nope but that's just a preference. I ended up liking about 8-9 pairs. I've never liked more than 2 pairs at a store so that's impressive. So relieved I came here for a second opinion. I was worried that because they carry high-end frames and are located in a nice area that their lenses would be over-priced but that was exactly OPPOSITE the case. I saved over $100 on my lenses by going to Image Eyes Optical instead of Lens Crafters, who were clearly trying to rip me off. Not only were they cheaper for a significantly better quality lens, they were able to have them delivered in less than half of the time that Lens Crafters quoted me. Not only do I love the swanky Dita Statesman glasses I bought from them but their customer service is stellar. Case in point, I was at a Melvin's concert up front recently and some jackass stage dove into my face, tearing off my amazing glasses and sending them to the floor where others stomped on them in the pit until I tracked them down, mangled and sad like a broken bird. Upset, I spent the rest of the show in the mosh pit. Nonetheless, I visited Image Eyes the next day and they kindly offered to send my beloved Statesman glasses back to Dita. A couple of weeks later they called to tell me the glasses were ready for pickup and aside from scratches on the lenses they're in stellar condition. I wish there were zero stars... still upset that their daughter (who didn't seem to have any optical skills) scratched a pair of my glasses that they said they would adjust that I had bought at another shop as I was picking up a pair I bought from them. I have heard other stories on a similar note, unprofessional, catty, and downright rude...I know this was vindictive because this particular pair of glasses I bought from them didn't seem to fit me and was uncomfortable after the fitting... but they had pushed this expensive frame on me (I can't see without glasses so I couldn't see exactly what I looked like). Both the owner and her daughter became belligerent with me (this, after I had bought a few pairs from them in the past)... but they seemed upset that I had gone somewhere else and wasn't happy with my purchase from them. I would have bought another pair if they hadn't acted this way! Fortunately, the shop I bought the other pair from (it was in Seattle) replaced the lens that she had scratched. I don't recommend going here... there are far better professional and progressive shops. read more
