I booked a consultation with Kennedy for a tattoo and she no showed with no warning and she did not reach out. After reaching out to her myself, I asked when she was available next to reschedule. She suggested doing the consultation over video chat that day which I agreed, yet, after waiting 30 minutes past our scheduled time she finally called me with no apology and was short with me. I could also hear she was in her car driving and not giving me her full attention. It's clear she did not want to give me her time and she wasted mine. I can't speak for the rest of the studio but obviously Kennedy does not care about her clients, she was rude and offered horrible customer service. I do not recommend this place at all. I am grateful I never gave her my money or any more of my time. read more

I wasn't planning on getting a tattoo in town. Most of my ink was done by Dragon's Lair Tattoo on MacArthur in Oakland, so I kind of wanted to keep the tradition. (ETA: Just looked up Dragon's Lair, and discovered they have been closed for over a year now. So much for traditions.) But tragedy and a desire for healing through needles and beauty, brought me here. This was a different experience from my other pieces. My other tattoos are small, black and grey and were done the day I walked in to the parlor (after over a year of tossing the idea back and forth). But in YYC, a decent artist is in extreme demand, so you book an appointment the way you book one for a doctor. Depending on what you want done, and how you want it done, wait times can be anywhere from weeks to months. At IC, you can put down either a cash deposit to secure your time or a PayPal deposit. The deposit covers the first hour and is taken off your final bill. When I brought in my reference photos and idea sketch, the guy booking my appointment suggested I make an appointment with Niki. Having seen some of her gorgeous work when I was perusing their website, I agreed readily. Niki was a blast to talk to, is extremely talented and did her best to make sure my 2 hour sitting was as pleasant as it could possibly be. The memorial piece on my left forearm came out even better than I imagined (bigger too, hehe), and I was stoked from start to finish. As for the shop itself, it's incredibly clean, spacious and about to get even more so, now that the only-sometimes-open Mexican restaurant that once resided below them is no longer there. The atmosphere is relaxed, you can tell all the artists get along with each other (at least the ones that were there that evening!) and that they take great pride in what they do and where they work. Dean, the guy who took my appointment, was pleasant to talk to, even though he was probably anxious to get home. I also love that they have late hours on certain days, because I wouldn't have been able to go on a week day in the middle of normal business hours. Thank you, Niki, for the beautiful work you did. I want to let everyone know how amazing this tattoo shop is and my artist Dropkick Danny , she did a big chest/ sleeve pc on me and she was so professional and caring all the way and my body is very hard to work on with my muscles popping out all over and it made it even harder and longer to do so Danny called the next appointment and moved it forward a few hours so that I was not felt pressured or rushed to finish my job. I am so blessed to have been referred to her. Side note she is the nicest looking tattoo artist I have never seen so it made it really easy to be around her for 4-5 hour sessions..!! read more

I booked a naval piercing with Charissa and she texted me half hour before my appointment that she had to cancel with unspecified reason. She asked to rebook and I did for the next day. She then texted me 15 minutes before my make up appointment saying she had to cancel again. I understand people have things that come up in their lives but it felt unprofessional. When I decided to have my ears re-pierced for the FOURTH time (nothing fancy, just the lobes) I was a bit nervous. What sold me on Immaculate Concept was their website describing how their dedicated piercer, Miza, has been with them for over fifteen years. Reading this, you know she is an experienced piercer. The receptionist was super friendly on the phone, the space is welcoming and doesn't have any of the snobby attitude you might find at some tattoo/piercing places. Miza herself is bubbly and fun, she will keep you chatting so you hardly notice what she is doing. The piercing itself was nearly painless and over in a flash. You can also see that the area is very clean, everything came out of single-use packages, etc. and aftercare was explained in detail. They also never made me feel like my boring ear lobe piercing wasn't worth their time, which I appreciate! At only $84 (including jewelry) and some saline solution, it was also really reasonably priced. Note that they do NOT have debit but there is an ATM with a $2.00 fee, so if you aren't paying credit, bring your own cash. I had a great experience and would recommend Immaculate Concept to anyone looking to get a piercing, whether a simple one like mine or anything more complicated! read more

Immaculate Concept has since moved to 4th St & 17th Ave SW, and they're as good as ever! I'm only speaking from one personal experience, but my piercer, Miza, was really great. I was getting a particularly sensitive part pierced and she did it so quickly and smoothly that it is hardly worth mentioning the pain. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, so no one else was there. I got in and out very quick. The price was a little high, but I always expect a quality piercing or tattoo to be. I'll be back for more in the future! read more

Just got a tattoo at Immaculate Concept - the service and overall experience was great where I definitely give two thumbs up for this shop! After much consideration and thought, I wanted to get a tattoo on my left forearm. Considering the fact that this is my first tattoo which will be on for life, I did thorough research for tattoo shops where my eventual decision landed on Immaculate Concept. I booked my appointment with Kevin where he came up with a beautiful sketch of exactly what I wanted. On the day of the appointment, he readjusted the size and gave input on the last minute details to create a more balanced looking tattoo. The tattoo was done in a little under the hour - Kevin worked methodically, was clean, and did his work with precision. In my own vain opinion, the tattoo came out beautifully with clean lines and thorough shading. I was incredibly happy with the results and the price I paid for it. The tattoo has made several appearances when I am out and about at night where I have gotten many compliments on it. For those who plan on getting tattoos, I would recommend checking out Immaculate Concept as it is a clean and professional shop with many talented artists. Do take note though that you do have to visit the shop in person to book an appointment because you have to make the down payment in person OR you can make the down payment on their website, so I guess whatever best meets your needs. Also, do expect your tattoo appointment to be booked right away - unlike other tattoo shops that are booked for months, Immaculate Concept can usually book you in (depending on the time and size the tattoo takes) within the following week or two, which is a plus :). All in all, a great tattoo parlour where i definitely wouldn't hesitate to book with Immaculate Concept again if I plan on getting another tattoo done again in the future. read more

I did a lot of research before picking a parlour that would suit my needs as far as getting my first tattoo was concerned. I called in and spoke to the extremely helpful and friendly receptionist who had me email some pictures of what I wanted to them to help decide which artist would be best suited for my design. She got me booked in promptly for a consult with Cody. The atmosphere of the parlour is really nice - clean and bright. The artists came in and out of the main reception area at their leisure and it was nice to see them interacting with the clients and each other. I felt comfortable, relaxed and like I 'fit in' there. When I went in for the consult it was literally a five minute exchange of introductions and "here's what I want, approximately this big, and this is where I want it..." He looked at his schedule and we arranged for about two weeks out. When I went in for my tattoo, everything was clean and everything was completely sterile - new right out of the package. The procedure took 10 minutes start to finish (my tattoo wasn't very large), and while it was an uncomfortable experience, it wasn't "painful" or unbearable by any means. Cody did a great job - my tattoo is exactly what I envisioned! I followed the aftercare instructions and my tattoo healed completely without any complications or touch-ups needed. The only downside is the cost. Immaculate Concept isn't one of the "cheaper" parlours in Calgary from the research I did, but I would definitely pay the money for the work I had done, the customer service I received and the quality of the work and the experience overall. I am extremely pleased with my tattoo and with my experience at Immaculate Concept. I highly recommend checking them out if you're wanting to get inked!! I am planning on getting another tattoo down the road, and when I do decide to go, I will definitely be booking in at Immaculate. read more

Walked into to get my anti eyebrow dermal done, super impressed with the results! Miza is amazing. At some places I feel out of place but I felt so comfortable here. She was so nice and super informative. I know it was super hygienic and sterile and I'm really confident in the job! She told me that I should be picky with the placement, she kept making sure I was comfortable, asked whether I wanted lots of details or not about the process, and aftercare is included! She's extremely professional, precise, widely creatively talented, her lines are tight, her hand is steady, and she really takes the time to listen to exactly what you want then actually makes it all happen. On top of all that she's a pleasure to hang with. Total gem! Danny actually first fixed an apprentice tattoo that I hated and turned it into a gorgeous little piece that I'm complimented on everyday. Went in as a walk-in today for a daith piercing and was very happy. The studio is very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Miza fit my friend and I in within minutes. She was super personable, highly knowledgeable, and thorough with her explanations. Very clear on daily cleaning recommendations, including an information sheet. So originally, the reason why methinks not, is because i think i was unfairly treated by the needle. Nobody deserves to be come at with a sharp object without a warning of "okay deep breath, or exhale on 3." I was unfairly treated, overcharged ( i mean really 80$ for a freaking stud??) , and that SHIT slipped out two days later. The whole point of a cork screw nose piercing is to lessen the chances of it falling out, hence THE SCREW. why am i playing slip and slide with my piercing??? -10/10 would not recommend. I have changed my mind and now have decided that i will give you a two star rating , it is solely based on the fact we received complimentary drinks, and they were cold too! id also like to add that this review is specifically directed to the piercings done here. I love it here, such awesome customer service and friendly artists. Usually I find tattoo shops a little snobbish, but I've never had an issue here. The receptionist is an absolute doll and everyone is a pleasure to deal with. Myself, both sisters, and my boyfriend have had multiple tattoos done here, and recently I went in to have one of mine touched up with Nikki. The process was super quick and easy, and again everyone was really friendly. I definitely recommend Immaculate Concept and I will be back soon for my next tattoo! read more

Immaculate concept has amazing artists that do amazing work. I've spent a few sittings there, and once they played movies the 5 hours I was there, which was nice and made the time pass! The artists are fun and kind and incredibly talented. They truly want to show off their art on your body and are very proud, as they should be. They know what looks good where, and what not to get - and they are good at explaining their reasoning. My only tip would be - you have to be patient. The artists can be booked months in advance, cancel appointments, take months to rebook, and make you wait in the waiting room for a long long time before your appointment. But it is worth the wait! read more

I had an overall good experience there. I got my nipple pierced there by Miza. The staff was very friendly. However, I just went to another piercer in Vancouver to get my other nipple done and he pointed out that my older piercing was on an angle and way too deep. Now that he has mentioned it, I see the problem, and I'm quite unhappy. The depth of the nipple piercing is also an issue because it's been almost 6 months since piercing it and it's still way too tender. Miza was very knowledgable and was very nice. I would still go to her, but just tell her that I only want the nipple pierced, and not the areola as well. read more

It was a really nice clean place but the tattoo I got just wasn't what I wanted and I haven't gotten a reply back in email or phone call asking for a touch up for a bit more green in the leaves on a rose. It's also faded after two weeks of healing I have other tattoos from ten years ago that faded less. read more

I had the worst piercing experience here and would definitely never come back. I had my septum piercing done over a year ago, and since have had wonderful experiences at other local shops which make me angry that I put up with such bad service here. I will say that the piercing was done well, but the disrespect I got from staff made it a very unpleasant experience. The woman who pierced me was very condescending and rude to me, she kept cutting me off and did not answer any of my questions. I felt very uncomfortable, and intimidated, as this was the worst service I have ever received. It still makes me angry when I think about it. read more

About six months ago or so I decided to get my first tattoo. I did a ton of research and heard many great things about Immaculate concept so I booked my appointment with one of the artists there. I was extremely excited because they were able to fit me in very quickly. The tattoo I had planned on getting was three very small swallow silhouettes on my ankle in honor of a good friend who had passed away. However, when I arrived at the shop everything seemed to go wrong, the artist drew up the stencil in barely two minutes and then immediately began tattooing me. As soon as he finished I realized that something had gone wrong because not only did the tattoo end up being a lot larger than the drawing originally depicted, but it also turned out looking more like bats than birds... needless to say I am discussing cover up possibilities with other artists and I definitely won't be going back to this shop read more

When I went in to book my tattoo, everything went good. One of the tattoo artists came over to do a sketch for me and he was really good at ensuring all my ideas were included. His drawing was awesome and I was so stoked to get it done. When I came in for my appointment, the person tattooing me was NOT the person that had drawn the tattoo for me. In fact, she had no idea that someone had done so. She was able to redraw most of the design but told me that she couldn't do certain things that the first guy had done. Her ideas consistently looked awful but I eventually settled because she was becoming annoyed. It felt as if she was working against me as she continually did the opposite of what I asked (I wanted dull greys and she used bright colors). The worst part is probably the horrendous shading or the fact that the lettering was quickly scribbled on. It looked so awful I cried over it. The tattoo has since healed but I will NOT be going back for touch ups, I'd rather pay someone else to do it right. read more
