In 1974, the church paid off its mortgage, which was incredible. St. Paul's also had added a parcel of land that provides access to the church from Hilton Avenue. In addition, the corner house on Cathedral Avenue was bought and is presently for educational purposes. The church architecture and altar are beautifully designed. St Pauls has a brilliant sound when the choir sings. A few years ago, many visited the church to be blessed by the crying Virgina Mary Icon. I was one of the individuals who stood online. First, an icon of the Virgin Mary, shed tears, then the icon of St Nicolas soon after. This is the first time this St. Nicholas Icon has begun to cry. Christos Anesti! As the ONLY one dressed in Greek theme. I definitely stole the show. Large crowd but not over packed. Amazing music, retails areas, delicious food, games and rides(for kids). The band was so so awesome and amazing. Very friendly and they all looked amazing. Great space and very well organized. I chatted to so many people. Everyone there was so friendly.

I was attending mass at Our Lady Of Loretto Church in hempstead New York. After the mass, the…read moresocial services dept of the church made a speech. Ana from Social Services stated " if anyone is suffering a hardship to please come fill out an application and that they will do everything to try to help the community. I went to the basement of the church with my wife and she interviewed us. Ana told us that someone would be calling us to setup a house visit.I called the church and I was told that they can't help me any further and that I have to personally speak with St Vincent de Paul. Since April I haven't heard from anybody. In July I was called by a volunteer Rosalba whom on multiple occasions kept asking for my paystubs, car insurance documents,phone bill, energy bill etc. I've forwarded these documents multiple times . First I was told I qualify for help with one months rent. Then she calls me to tell me that she doesn't think I qualify. Then I've spoken with Paula many times whom told me that she was going to speak with Rosalba and someone in charge in giving help. It's now the new year and I haven't heard back from St Vincent De Paul. I'm a Catholic and I feel that everyone should be treated equal regardless of race, or nationality. I've spoken with Obisto Romero and I will also be making a formal complaint with Father Rufus Vasquez. God Bless everyone in St Vincent De Paul and hopefully someone reads this and at least helps me with one month of rent. I hope that god blesses Rosalba to make the right decision and try to help me. Coming from a Catholic Church it really doesn't look right how you preach to people all the help you can provide and yet you do nothing to help anyone. You should practice what you preach . Also it's not fair to help only one type of race which I can't say on hear and the rest of people left out. We are all gods children and should be treated equally as such.

They invited him to their church named Pillars of Faith in Flushing. He asked me to go with him some time later, which I did. what I can tell you from that first visit is, this house of worship is absolutely filled with the passion of the holy spirit. It is a very inviting house of God with a approachable pastor named Vincent who will make you feel right at home. Young or older, whomever you are, wherever you are from you will be welcomed and accepted as family. My family has been coming to Christ Alive for over a month now. This is our new home church and we…read morelove it. Pastor Cristi and Bob are terrific and both very strong in Christ and wonderful people. The worship team is outstanding and lead terrific worship every week. there is an active childrens ministry with great teachers and my kids have learned and retained more about the bible in the past month than they did the past three years. There is 1 Wednesday a month at night where they have worship and prayer and 3 other where there is teaching almost like a bible study. While not as attended like a Sunday, these are wonderful in helping you keep Christ focused during the week and spending extra time with church family. The church also has small groups, called Life groups, which change about quarterly and offered both at the church and at people's homes depending on the group. The church also holds food drives and has a 1 Saturday a month Food Pantry to feed the needy, doing Christ work in the community is a big part of the identity here. I love it. No better church in the area. People of all races and nationalities are welcome and the church is very diverse.
