Think of watching a movie but it's art

Although beautiful and different I must say that everything about this event is over priced. We walked in, we're greeted and given a chip to trade in for a cushion once we made it through the door. However before you get there, there are drinks and snacks offered. $11 for a plastic cup is excessive to me, but then again maybe I'm just thrifty. We get our drink, take some pictures and then proceed to the door where we were told that the video just ended and the next one would start soon so we should find out seat. The whole time the video was playing a group of ladies behind us talked however they were screaming so they could hear each other over the music. Not once did anyone ask them to please hold their conversation down. The video comes to an end and we walk into another room that's larger and grab a seat and to my surprise, it's the SAME video!!! Like seriously? However now it's a larger room so depending on where you are sitting you get a different view cause after all this is ART. Got into the 3rd room and you guessed it, same video. Just this time there are mirrors which the images reflect off of giving you a different artistic view. So, we leave and return our cushions and they give us a "gift" (a poster) and then there is the gift shop. I love a magnet of places I've been and shows I've been to, however $13 for a magnet that's not as big as my thumb? YIKES!! Maybe I wasn't totally prepared, but this all seems extremely steep all in the name of ART.

Kind of a mixed review from me. First, while I recognized some of Van Gogh's work, there were a lot I didn't, so the fact there was movement, didn't really resonate with me as much as it might others. That doesn't play into my ranking, because it's on me, not them to be familiar with the basis for the exhibition. They do send an email with info of a companion app to download before going in. While I did download it, I never really had a chance to read all about it beforehand. Again, that's on me. Also, from seeing other ads for it, I guess I was under the impression that you moved from room to room, and each room focused on a different painting or a few paintings. In reality, there 's three rooms, all showing the exact same 30-min film. I guess it was cool, after we finally got up and moved 5-6 times and ended up in a good spot. It's interesting to see, there are some cool effects, and most of the music is nicely paired. There are some chairs in the middle room, and if you wait long enough, they'll open up. However, be prepared to sit against a wall or stand until they do. But then again, to pay $60-70/person to drive 45 mins each way for a 30-min film, I dunno. Mixed reviews. I'd be interested to know if true Van Gogh/art lovers though it was amazing or cheesy. Finally, know that while they require masks going in, nobody enforces anything once you're in the exhibit, and two of the three rooms aren't huge, so lots of non-masking going on and the increase in the chance you're being immersed in more than just Van Gogh.

Pricey for just three rooms but you get to stay there for as long as you want. I would love to have a wedding venue like this because it's magical. This was definitely an experience. From beginning to end, there was great customer service. Employees were helpful and friendly so you get what you pay for. This was like a glow in the dark light show of all his art. There's a gift shop and something to do in Dallas Wear a mask and show up on time

Luckily we got our tickets on sale for Black Friday. The exhibit and music were mesmerizing but we were not offered cushions that we saw others using, the screaming kids were beyond annoying and the gift shop prices were some of the highest I've seen.

    The famous "Irises" painting

I saw it in August 2021! Staid there over 2 hours to watch it 3-4 times! It brought tears to my eyes at more than one occasion and reignited my passion for painting! Now I am a full-time professional artist... because of this show! I saw other shows at the same venue but the Van Gogh immersive was the best! I saw it again in 2022 just for grins ;) You have to let it "soak in" into your core and soul to truly appreciate! I could not understand people leaving after 15 min (the show is 35min, on a loop)! Loved it! I wish they would bring the Gustav Klimt one but Dallas is not very receptive apparently! So sad.

Stunning. You have to experience it for yourself, in person. I went in expecting to see something visually stunning, I didn't expect to be so moved by it. Everything about this exhibit is truly moving. It's an emotional experience. The soundtrack that has been selected to go with the artwork adds so much, and see the projections all around you truly allows you to get lost in the art and feel like you're a part of the paintings. There's also something very beautiful about experiencing it with other people. Whether it be close friends or a partner you're with or other people in the room you don't know. The feeling of coming together to collectively appreciate art is perhaps the most emotional part of the experience & something I have truly missed! When you go, I would suggest the first time you sit through it try to be in moment without distractions. It plays on a loop, so you can go through it a 2nd time to take all the pictures and video you want, but the first time...allow yourself to be completely immersed in the experience without any distractions.

    Over priced gift shop

I Had the pleasure of attending the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. The experience was excellent, I love Van Gogh's art. In this experience I was able to get an up close view of the intricate details of those paintings. I came away with a greater respect and admiration of the artist, and how much detail was in his works. I'm only giving the exhibit 4 stars because of the gift shop, terrible selections , and what they did have was tremendously over priced.

AMAZING!!! It wasn't at all what I expected, but then again, I didn't know what to expect, so... I don't even know where to start. There were 3 rooms that were all set up differently, and all played the same show. I guess I expected there to be different things going on in each room. With that said, each room gave a new visual experience of the same show. The imagery was amazing and touched me in a way I also didn't expect. Van Gogh has had my heart since I was in my teens when I had the privilege of traveling to Europe and seeing his paintings in person. I fell in love with his style, the emotions in each brush stroke, and his unique perspective of the world around him. This show touched on every aspect of his insanely genius mind. It brought his work to life and you could almost feel what he must have been thinking as he shared his beautifully creative and broken mind through his brushstrokes. This show gave me a whole new appreciation for the artist and it was an experience I will never forget. Stunning!

Honestly didn't think it was worth what we paid for. Been to virtual visual art exhibits and this wasn't worth what we paid. Yes the art work was amazing but wish the art was displaced a little longer. My brother went to the Orange County version where I saw lots of clips of the exhibit and his art was displayed differently and longer to enjoy the artwork. Honestly the circles on the ground kind of kills the visuals of the art in the middle room. Not impressed. Sorry, but save your time and money by passing on this exhibit. Maybe try a different one since they all seem to be a bit different. Just a tip: there a 3 different rooms, middle being the largest, but they all display the same visual art loop. First room empty room while art displace on walls only, middle room has the art displayed on the walls and ground, last room has the art displayed on the walls and reflective mirrors in the middle of the room.

This was such a cool experience that I went twice! (The 1st experience was with my girlfriends, & the 2nd experience was with my family.) All you need to do is come in at your specified time, & then you can stay as long as you like. :) I don't know how else to describe the experience other than it felt like going through each of his paintings. I bet Van Gogh himself would approve of this if he could. Also, the staff were very helpful & friendly. Plus, the gift shop had some really cool stuff to remember this by.

I absolutely love art and museums. Bought tickets to this in March for July only to have the date moved to August when kids are in school and now it's extremely difficult to pull this off on a weekday afternoon. Todays timed experience started out horribly because the museum is surrounded by construction, there isn't any parking or signs of where to go, the surrounding area is sketchy and there are a lot of stairs to climb. Once inside there is an elevator but you have to ask to use it. Exhibit itself is walking into 3 giant rooms (2 of which do not have any seating) and watching the visuals of VG paintings come to life via projections on the walls. The size colors and music are stunning -- it's beautifully done. But to stand the entire time (many were dressed up or coming from work too) or sit on the floor ruins it for me -- especially at the price point of $30/child and $50/adult -- very very expensive for a 30 minute video presentation and spending just 1 hour there. Finally there is no narration or prep or background on the artist. Luckily I knew the paintings and could explain to our group. They have a wall display with VG bio on the way out but it was too crowded to stop and read. It seemed very hastily thrown up and not at all up to the caliber of the masterworks the exhibit highlights. Everyone was restless and unsure what to do here. Confirmed must go to big museums and see the actual original works.

This was definitely an interesting experience. We were originally supposed to go in June but was rescheduled due to COVID. The employees were extremely helpful. The exhibit itself was interesting and played on a 35 minute loop, however I don't think it was worth the cost.

Feels like a sales gimmick: there is no physical art to view but rather just a 20min immersion. I should've watched it twice to get my moneys worth. Upon walking in you have an option to get a snack which is nice - alcoholic drinks and light bites that you can bring in. The immersion was actually nice but I was left feeling like this is it? They have separated and balcony seating, for some of the art it made me look up the life of Van Gogh. Very sad, and heartfelt. I can appreciate the art but who ever is making money off of this is a genius. Play the same video for 20mins on replay everyday and charge people $50 per entry at minimum.... why couldn't I have thought of this. Nonetheless worth the experience but had I known it was just a video/projector , I would've played it at home‍

Miss Ginger Fox herself doesn't pressure you or watch you while you view her gallery which is great. So, is it called 1976 because many believe it is the most consequential year in the history of modern China? (It's Chinese-American owned). Or is the birth year of one of the Law family siblings? I'd guess it's bridging old school 1976 analog craftsmanship with the digital revolution-led letterpress and screen printing, since the store is the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, with a fully operational letterpress studio (they produce their own stationery), housing vintage, antique printing presses. They also curate independent art and host hands-on workshops. So, the name We Are 1976 suggests a collective identity rooted in a specific era, and their tagline "our dear assembly" is likely their way of saying, "This is the group of people, machines, and beautiful objects we have gathered together."
